I hear the Welsh Greens have been sighted returning early this year! πŸ‰

[FRIENDS/FAMILY/FORMER AURORS]
In case you haven't heard yet, Nora and I are back. Hello! Please give us your updates! We've missed you all!

I have a few of my own:

  • The Animagus Registry had only 7 registered members last century; for the 21st, I've officially made that 8. [A link to the registry website, with Rhys' name and details now added to the list] Hopefully, that puts any further rumours about my being an Inferi to rest.

  • I've accepted a position with the Society for the Prevention of Injustice to Faultless Folk (SPIFF) investigating cases and gathering evidence relating to the unjust arrest/detainment/dismissal/what-have-you of Muggleborn citizens and others in order to build court cases, as well as helping them obtain employment, resources, rehabilitation, et al. One of our former guests* was kind enough to put in a recommendation. Please let me know if you know of anyone who could benefit from these pro-bono services.

  • *For those of you who didn't know, Nora and I had been using the B&B as a sanctuary for people who had nowhere else to go, so please forgive any boring history lessons I may have posted in order to fend off purist scrutiny. I'm happy to report that everyone is well (as they can be, anyway) and heading back to their regular lives. Now that I'm free to say so: FUCK PURISM, FUCK DISCRIMINATION, FUCK BIGOTED FUCKERY, thank you very much. It's a relief to be able to speak freely.

  • I think that's it for the big reveals. I told you all that I got top marks in Concealment and Disguise.

  • Pea and Carrot have already gotten rained on and melted into fuzzy puddles. Welcome back, I suppose.

  • Nora and I are e

  • Albi, now a free elf, sends his regards: [a photo of their former house elf looking happy on a beach in a tiny Hawaiian shirt]

  • Nora probably also has some things to add, but I'll leave those for her to tell.

    Lots of love!

Thank goodness Wizfeed always knows what one should do with one's life.

    You got: Inventor
You'll invent something ingenious, patent it, and never have to work again. You could spend the rest of your days on a gigantic yacht, but instead you'll probably spend them inventing even more cool stuff.

I can't wait to be free of all these batshit crazy/stupid purists and big reveals. Tell me more about Brazil.

One of my mutuals on Hooter is also an Auror that was forcibly retired and now works as a private investigator in SΓ£o Paulo. I'm going to ask him more about it.

    I'm excited!

Do you want to get dinner somewhere tonight? Let's do something, just the two of us.

Thanks again for letting us stay here.

Thanks again for all of your help. I hope our friends are settling in nicely wherever they are. Please pass on our gratitude to everyone else who pitched in.

Not to alarm you, but apparently the DMLE/former Aurors are on order to look for Order members and your brother is at the top of the list. Probably just residual bitterness after that post of his, but I thought you should know. Not that you heard it from me.

[NORA & RHYS' CLOSE FRIENDS & FAMILY (please feel free to ask if you're not sure! ♥)]
We're having a nice, low-key board game night at the B&B on Thursday night. Please do drop by, if you're able! We'd love to see you. Snacks will be provided, but more are always welcome.

Cadwallader & Sons Musical Instruments & Instruction's Wizarding Composer of the Month promotion continues this month with our tribute to Vance Brocklehurst (1623 - 1758), who is well-known for his series of compositions that are only able to be performed while airborne on a broomstick. Come by and answer a trivia question to receive a discount off your purchase.

I was going to post this quiz, but then I got a Grim and remembered that quizzes are stupid.

What's your favourite piece of musical trivia?

And for those of you who don't care about trivia, here is a puffskein playing piano.

    [FORMER AURORS]
Has anyone had any issues with adding to wards lately? I was trying to upgrade my parents' today, and couldn't add anything new. I kept trying, and they started to unravel, so I stopped. I tried to do the same elsewhere just to ensure I wasn't doing something wrong, and it was fine.

Have any of you run into this?

Cadwallader & Sons Musical Instruments & Instruction will be having a Wizarding Composer of the Month promotion starting this February. Drop by the shop and answer a trivia question about this month's featured composer to receive a discount off your purchase.

February's composer is Ethelyn Clutterbuck (1776 - 1891), best known for creating challenging pieces featuring levitating string sections.

Additionally, we had a cancellation for Valentine's Day at the Gentle Green, so if you need a last-minute getaway, send us an owl, as it will go fast.

Also, a reminder that there is a Super Blue Blood Moon coming up this Wednesday, so you know, there's that. It'll be an exciting night for astronomy fans, and others.

So far we haven't found any bodies or curses, though I keep checking to see if I've missed something.

Please post your festive pet pictures. I think we could all use a bit of cheer.

    [NORA]
I was reading about the last International Symposium of Animagi a couple years back—did you hear about that? Adrian Tutley, gerbil animagus, threw a hissy fit because a bunch of 14-year olds from Uagadou did some thing with synchronised transformation, turning into elephants and cheetahs and the like. There was a big hubbub. Imagine being that jealous of some talented kids?

Also, have Meredith and Chris picked a dog they like yet? I haven't heard anything, but I also feel like they like you more than me, so I figured maybe they'd mentioned it to you.

Unrelated, I think I might have found another secret passageway/compartment in the Snowdrop room, but I haven't quite figured out how to access it.

It's also the anniversary of us decorating our first tree, so I think we should decorate another to celebrate. Love you.

If you'd like to experience some traditional, magical Welsh culture this holiday season, you're invited to join us for the 301st Annual Mari Lwyd at the Gentle Green B&B on December 29th; say hello to our festive thestral and enjoy some song, food, and cider and/or hot chocolate. It's free, so bring by the whole family.

This Wizfeed article is bullshit. If they were going to rank dragons on deadliness alone, they should have just called it that.

Welsh Greens are excellent. The fact that you can watch them (from a safe distance, of course) without being eaten is the best part.

    [NORA]
So, looks like Patronus lessons for us regular folks are basically 'illegal' now. All the more reason to keep practicing here. Do you think the Hills and Petersons would like to practice sometime?

Also, do you think we should do some sort of family Christmas thing here at the B&B, since they won't be able to be with theirs?

Also also, my parents have invited both you and Baz to join anything our family's doing, of course since you can't. I don't know if he'd be interested, or whether that would be too uncool.

    [WILL]
    How's Eurig? How are you?

I saw a cat that looked just like Mittens on Wiztagram. Are you sure he's not living a secret double-life?

Baz, if you're just going to make 🀒 faces at me, you might as well skip this entry, because I've earned the right to be schmaltzy, damn it!

All anniversaries are important to me, but coming up on Monday is the most important one of all: seven glorious years of being married to the kindest, smartest, most wonderful, most beautiful human being I've ever been blessed enough to know and share my life with. She's my soulmate, the love of my life, and my best friend. She's stuck with me through the good times and the not-so-good ones. She's believed in me even when no-one else did, least of all myself. I really don't have the words to express just how much she means to me, but I can sure try.

Nora, I fall more and more in love with you every day, and I look forward to the next seven years, and the seven after that, and so on and so forth. Thank you for putting up with me all this time, but more importantly, thank you for being you.

I love you very much. Happy anniversary. πŸ’›

Sorry for being an embarrassment. I'm excited to get away from it all and spend some quality time with you.

Today marks a very important anniversary:

It's been seven years since Nora and I baked our first pumpkin pie together, a very memorable occasion on which we horribly burned said pie and then covered up said burned bits with excessive amounts of whipped cream.

Let us celebrate with these seven pumpkin pies I've burned especially for this occasion.

    Love you, honey. πŸ˜˜πŸ’›
