My mum, my stepdad and my sister came home today.

It's good to see them back, but it's bittersweet, too. Cai wasn't there. Cai, who should have been there and would have if it wasn't for certain people. I think that's something that a lot of people are unfortunately having to deal with and I hate it, for myself, for my family, for everyone.

But I'm so, so glad to see them. I'm so lucky to see them. I'm going to hold all of them a little tighter. I know and don't care that it's corny: I hope everyone else is too. I hope we're all thinking of ways that we can and should be better for future generations. My sister, like so many children her age, is going to have scars forever because of what they went through.

I'm so glad it's over.

P.S. If anyone knows Harry Potter, she says "please tell him I'll love him again, it's only far seeing as he saved the world and that."

Death Eaters killed my brother.

Evelyn Mulciber killed my brother.

This is part of a public record of the Mulciber's crimes. I want every single one of them to know that I hope they burn to death. I hope they don't have a wand and they burn you and all your flesh peels away and you scream and cry and I hope you die brutally and there's not even a whisper of mercy there. I hope you're hurt beyond recognition. Why

I want everyone to know that Cai was a good man and a good brother and he was just trying to be a good person and Evelyn Mulciber crushed his head in for no reason.

For obvious reasons, we will not be waking him.

I've been thinking and thinking about what to say about the recent disaster and I've come to the conclusion I can only give voice to the perennial favourite: Oh no. Not the Ministry. How awful.

Why does it matter to Death Eaters whether some people move the wandless in the first place? They don't have wands. What harm could it possibly do?

I think homeschooled people could turn out just fine.

In ten days, it's going to be one of the best days of the year.

It's getting closer to the deadline!

Unfortunately, that means that it's getting closer to the mandatory implementation of Ministry policy which hugely prohibits every citizen's right to privacy. I cannot say yet what impact the IDs will truly have — but I can say that, despite what information has been distributed across the wizarding world, I think it's abundantly clear that this move is not being met with open arms. The ramifications of needing identification in order to shop or be allowed into public buildings are huge. The fact that people won't be allowed into such a focal and important location as Diagon without identification is huge.

Everyone has the right to free movement within the UK. The use of IDs in this way is horrid because it's purpose is prohibitive and its clearly set to be used as an excuse, a ways and means to track the witches and wizards of the UK. I'm shocked that anyone would be in favour of this policy. It's short-sighted. It places limitations on us for the purposes of alleged public safety, but I'm afraid I can't see how we're to believe this is going to help us from Death Eaters or violent attacks.

There are many instances where having identification is smart and necessary. There are many fields where I understand it, sites where you'd need it to visit. Identification is important but a policy like this is not important or necessary. Having identification shouldn't be mandatory to shop. It shouldn't be mandatory to enter a street. This policy is deliberately restricting and it deliberately undermines every single one of us. This policy, frankly, means that we are not given a choice. We must have one to leave our house and spend money or seek medical attention or visit the centre of government, activities which we should be certain of being able to do without this particular kind of scrutiny. Having to explicitly identify ourselves every step of the way is ridiculous. It's stifling.

Unfortunately for many of us, it's simply not feasible to forego having this ID.

However, I'm not pleased about it. I intend to make my disapproval known, here, and by attending the protest. Consider joining it.

I want to know who on earth supports the use of dementors ever. Are you out there? Did you sign a petition? I've got some questions.

Who deemed constructing the Magic is Might statue, apparently, as necessary? Is it necessary to include its details? 'Magic is Might' as a slogan undoubtedly adopts a threatening tone. This can't be a coincidence given the current registration and imprisonment of muggleborns. Is this its purpose? To threaten and intimidate? Furthermore, is it necessary to apparently utilise the image of someone who was only recently murdered? Why is it used? What purpose does that serve?

I think a necessary thing to know is that questioning what we see and hear is so, so important.

Every single child deserves a chance at a life and at an education. They don't deserve to feel terrified to go to a train station. They don't deserve to be tricked and trapped and taken away from their families. They don't deserve to be victims of some peoples beliefs in a twisted ideology. It's a right that they should be educated. Let them, for the love of god.
