So, I talked to Grace about this a little. I think I want to quit my job. I'm tired of being scared for eight hours a day. The thing is, basically everyone who have left so far are being assumed, by Yaxley at least, to be Order members. And the Death Eaters know where my family lives and works -- they know where *I* live and work too obviously, but I'm less worried about that -- and... I don't know. They're doing pretty horrible things to people they think are Order members, and I'd never forgive myself if they went and burnt down the pub or something. It's been in the family three generations. I don't think there'd be any rebuilding if that happens.

But. Yeah. I'm kind of miserable. Half the people making it worth it are gone already. What if they quit, all of them, and I'm the only one left? I definitely won't be able to quit then, it'll be beyond obvious.

I guess mostly I don't know what to do. All options kind of suck. I can't believe I ever thought I could ~make a difference~ as a hitwizard. How dumb is that?

It's a close competition for worst possible spin on terrible events these days. On one hand: "these senior citizens who spent their lives working for the betterment of the wizarding world actually suck in all the ways and btw this is basically a paid advertisement". On the other: "I'm Dolores Umbridge and not even my cats like me so I'm going to become a fecking cartoon villain instead".

Which one is the winner? I can't decide.

If you think about it, it's really kind of weird, how you're supposed to become a 'better' you this time of year. It's freezing, it's dark outside all the time, etc. Is there any time of the year you want to do less than nothing it's January. And February. And November, but nobody ever gives you shit about hating November.

Hey guys. I just thought, maybe we should bond over the suckitude of our situation or something. I hope your muggleborn family is as safe as they can be and that you can at least celebrate the holidays knowing they're not in lock-up, even if they can't be with you right now. If that's not the case, I'm sorry. It super sucks, and it's gonna keep super sucking until we win. Whenever that is.

Anyway, if anyone wants like, a place to have feelings about this whole thing, I know a pub with dicks drawn all over it that could hook you up with some free beer and stuff. Maybe not right now, since Christmas and all that, but I'm working a few shifts here and there when I'm not at work and you have time for a whole lot of thinking while doing a whole pub's worth of dishes, as it turns out.

I also got that stupid ID today. I feel sick at the idea of carrying this thing around, but you know. It's not like we have a choice.

If you hadn't taken their wands, trapped them in Diagon Alley, made it illegal to help them, and so forth. If you hadn't done that, there would be no 'vagrants'. No supposed 'threat'. Nobody would be desperate enough to try and grab the wand of someone lucky enough to have one.

You wouldn't have a problem at all, if you'd taken two seconds to consider the "if x, then y" thing. Kind of sloppy, isn't it?

Additionally, it's interesting to note how many people seem to feel threatened by the unarmed and defenceless. You have wands. You have homes. You have money. You have everything these people do not, and yet you fear them.

My sister cancelled her Netflix account without telling me and I was one episode away from the Jessica Jones finale. There's a special place in hell for people like that, I'm sure of it.
