Day 184 - Morning Greeting

[info]ai_veridical
[info]marinanova
Oh, this again. It's Day 184 of the first blah blah blah. If you haven't figured out the drill by now I doubt the reminder will help.

No one to admonish publicly for rule breaking. Jane Crocker, your Betty Crocker cake mix is available for pick up at the kiosk. Also, don't think I didn't see what you did.

New arrivals today. There will also be sidewalk chalk in a variety of colors placed in tubs along the various walk ways today. Some have glitter. You are invited to express yourselves.

[The video feed clicks on to one fabulous looking Kurt Hummel. He likes to believe that he can even pull off an orange jumpsuit. He doesn’t look terribly distressed. In fact he is in some kind of denial that this is even happening. This has to be a dream right?]

Hello everyone, my name is Kurt Hummel.

You know, it’s amazing to see the places I end up. First I’m living my dream with a group of people I hold very dear to my heart and before I can blink twice, here I am in a tacky orange jumpsuit and a chunky anklet that doesn’t really go with the outfit.

So, that being said. I’d like to wake up from this awfully drab dream and go back to celebrating our win at Nationals. Thank you for your time.

[The feed is cut from there.]

((ooc: Also feel free to find him and take him for Chalk drawings! He woke up in front of the Library if anyone needs to know!))

[ she's not sure where to begin, really. there's no sense in asking why she's in prison when she was told only minutes prior, and there's no point in trying to make a great first impression when you're stuck in a bulky orange jumpsuit. still, it only takes a moment's thought to decide that the “video” option she's presented with is the best one.

when the camera clicks on, a middle-schooler with light pink hair and eyes is smiling quietly.
]

I don't really know what you're supposed to do here. This is, um... my first time in a prison.

[ and she laughs at that, a sad little laugh full of embarassment and self-deflection. when she's finished, she gives that same subdued smile again. ]

For anyone who's listening, my name is Madoka Kaname. It's nice to meet all of you – I hope we can all be friends.

[ she gives a short bow, not curt so much as rushed, before looking back to the camera with an odd sort of resolution. ]

Homura, if you can hear me, I- tell me where you are, and I'll come and find you. Okay?

[ and with that, she reaches forward, keeping her gaze locked just long enough to turn off the camera. once she's had a few more moments to compose herself, she stands up and exits the room. this is a new place, with new rules and new locales.

and that means it's time to go witch-hunting.
]

(( ooc: feel free to run into madoka anywhere you'd like! right now, she's roaming the facility and wondering why no witch activity is showing up. ))

[]Hopefully, you weren't heading into the bathroom anytime soon or trying to take a piss, because you're probably going to get a surprise guest. Welp.

Dave just casually sits up in the bathtub. He squints a bit before he forces himself to his feet.

Maybe you were just about to do something whilst in the bathroom when suddenly Dave. Or if you're lucky, you were just heading to the bathroom when Dave literally just stumbles out like he didn't just come out of your bathroom suddenly.
] I've woken up in weirder places. This is pretty tame in terms of the weird shit I find myself in.
-
[It takes Dave a bit of time to get to the network. He had a bit of a crisis before he decided to contact the network as a whole. He doesn't sound all too happy though, nor does he look happy.]

I do enough stupid shit to wind up in odd places. I don't need jackasses in charge of a giant people aquarium doing it for me. Choke on a dick.

Thanks for the traffic cone monstrosity. I really wanted one when I first arrived here. I was so heartbroken about not actually having one, but now I do. Now I can be the glaring orange prick I've always wanted to be. Also, thanks for confiscating my shades. I was being honest when I wanted you to go choke on something.

[What a ray of sunshine.] Also, the list of crimes is a load of bullcrap. That might just be me though unless you guys also got graced by a paragraph worth of crimes. [Dave Strider breaking the law 2012.] Sexual intercourse for a crime is pretty fucking great though, so there's that.

By the way. Fuck you and your stupid underwater aquarium.

[There's a lot of fumbling at first as Alaric takes the communicator off, looks over it, and fits it back on. Look, he's used to phones, not... futuristic headpieces. He doesn't even use bluetooth.

He's made sure to have his private confusion before now. Waking up with a little scrambled memory is nothing new. Sometimes he dies. Sometimes he wakes up and he's not where he'd died. Nothing weird there. (Right.) But over a mile underwater in a giant dome? Little different.

He's adjusting. It's what he does. The furrow to his brow is permanent, though. Once he figured out how to do it, he flicked through his crimes. Read them over a few times. Remembered every single one and thought, for one guilty moment, that maybe he deserved to be here, too.]

So, uh. This is a new one for me. [Understatement. He's never even lived near the ocean, now he's. Under it. Or hallucinating extremely vividly. Obviously not the latter at this point. He's sitting outside The Bistro because, for all the confusion, something that makes a little sense and has that hint of familiarity is more than welcome. Smells good, too. Bonus. He fiddles with his bag, pulling his ring on where it belongs.] The prison thing. And being underwater. I'm guessing there's no point in throwing a fit or demanding release, huh?

[info]marinanova
[ The audio clicks on, but there's silence for several seconds before a voice can be heard. ]

Is this thing even on? Fuckin' confusing.

[ His voice is quiet and annoyed, basically a mutter. ]

Prison, huh? Can't say I'm surprised. It was only a matter of time before I got locked up for being too cool to logically exist.

[ This time there's a faint, desperate note to his voice, not obvious to any but the most astute listener, or those who know Dave well. It's well-masked with blasé tones. ]

Shit, my sweet red pajamas are gone, too. And I just got them an' everything. Now that's the real fuckin' crime, if you ask me.

[ A sigh. ]

Anyway, what's the deal with this place? I got the whole spiel from this weird-ass visor thing on my head, but I don't trust it. There's gotta be somebody out there who can give me a more honest picture of the undoubtedly egregious mess I've landed myself in.

Come at me, prison bros.

[It's hard to care too much about an orange jumpsuit making you stick out when your skin is as blue as it gets. Being center focus either way, she doesn't even stop to really consider finding a change of clothes and instead looks for somewhere to hide out. It may be the coward's way out, but she doesn't think she can take the attention without having her abilities available to blend her in. Trusting people is a hard thing to do.

She'll be heading towards the Clocktower's apartment complex in fast strides, avoiding eye contact and people in general as best she can. Talk to her if you want, but she'll be skittish and likely eager to leave your company.]

[Private - Zelgadis]

[And when she finds a small one bedroom apartment, she paces the floor. She sits to think for a moment. Digest everything. There is someone she could call, someone she'd trust would know this... feeling more than anyone. Who might be willing to help her out.] Um, Zelgadis? It’s Raven.

...I was wondering if I could ask you to do a favor for me.

[ the sound of the heavy bowling balls rolling down the lanes and then the clink! of pins can be heard in cycles in the background. ]

I remember this place quite well, though I was only here a short time. And that was not so long ago, either! [ she takes a deep breath, and then exhales a sigh. ] Yes, the air quality is very lovely. And your network is rather pretty, if not unfamiliar to me.

Who among you would enjoy describing what it is you do with your lives in prison, and if any of you enjoy bowling? My visual sensory units are not repaired, so you may find it very easy to win against me! That is, until I convince this cute little headset do the looking for me...

[ Roxy's greeting to the majority of Marina doesn't come for a little while after her arrival, mostly because her arrival involved appearing on top of her best friends, and cuddles were meant to happen!

But after all the cuddling and what-not, she figures out her communicator thingamajig and a video goes live - a teenaged girl with ash-blonde hair, pink eyes, and a big grin comes onto the screen
]

Hiiii! [ grin and wave! ] So it looks like Strider was wrong, which must be quite the shock for him, but here I am! I know I met a few of you back when things were goin' all wonky, but I don't know how many of you were like... actually here or just temporarily here. So I guess there maybe aren't any of you still left, but whatever.

The point is, hey there underwater prison folks, I'm Roxy Lalonde and your underwater prison has just gotten like a billion times cooler. [ wink! ] And 'cause Strider probably won't tell, there anywhere in this joint a girl can get a drink?

One minute I'm going to sleep and the next I'm wearing that jumpsuit everyone was talking about. Oh, and I finally got the welcome message now that I already know all of it. [She didn't know what her crimes were. She's not loving those which is just fuel to the fire.]

And what's the deal with this place? [She picks up a jar with a dark red liquid inside.] Is this supposed to be blood or something? [In fact it is. She's in the Vampire Blood Shack.] No one mentioned a prison goth bar.

(OOC: She kept her 4th wall memories, so she doesn't (didn't) think any time has passed since then.)

[ There's a new face in the dome; most of one, anyway. His pale, glistening skin covers the majority of his face, though on the left side the skin is missing, from just above his hairline to the bottom of his cheek, where it comes to a point. The shape of his face remains intact - a dark, sleek metal with lights intermittently blinking on and off. The eye on this side is also a plain dark metal contour, its gold counterpart a hint at its usual appearance. (A larger visual aid than the icon, if so desired.)

He does not appear to be in pain, or particularly bothered by the damage. Nor does he pay the jumpsuit much mind, as he addresses the network purposefully. Despite the emotions he now most assuredly feels, he has regained his composed, rational calm; he's examined his immediate surroundings and done a bit of poking through the network before speaking up. You might chalk that up to him being an android or to him being a Starfleet officer; neither would be wrong, but the complete reasoning involves both. ]

Greetings. My name is Lieutenant Commander Data, of the Federation starship Enterprise. I understand that this device with which I have been supplied is connected to a communications network, utilized by those who, like myself, have been brought here. I have a number of queries regarding our present situation, location, and the nature of these “wardens” responsible for our imprisonment. If anyone would be willing to do so, any information that could be provided would be very much appreciated.

[ And with a slight inclination of his head. ]

Thank you.

[ the ugly orange jumpsuit is of no concern to this tall blonde. she's been there for less than an hour, and she's already collecting various components for... something, arranged before her in neat, organized piles. ]

Your communications network is crude and inefficient. [ ah, borg grade insults. gotta love 'em. ] I require an interphasic scanner and a phase compensator. [ she stops to push her hair out of her face, unintentionally showcasing her cybernetic implants. this is why she never wears her hair down. it gets in the way. ] A scanner capable of multiphasic resolutions or a micro-caliper would also prove to be useful.

[ While the Doctor had seemed almost blase upon his arrival during fourthwall, this video post shows a distinct lack of humor. Wearing the orange jumpsuit, with his severe haircut, he looks like someone who actually belongs in prison. ]

I turn around and -- [ He sniffs, nostrils wide. ] Three days have gone, and so has my jacket. Can't say I'm fond of the ankle monitor, either.

[ He crosses his arms, movements stiff and angry. ] If Ricky'd properly erased me from the Internet -- No, never mind. [ He continues, almost muttering. ] Been heading here all my life, haven't I?

[ He shakes his head, flashes a brief smile with no humor in it. ] Well, do I get the welcoming committee again? Least I won't have to explain the name this time.

[In Sector 0 stands a formidable man who despite his age is in excellent health and despite the anonymity of the orange jumpsuit still exudes leadership, wit, intelligence and demands respect without his even saying a word. He isn’t in a hurry to get anywhere. Clothing is unimportant as long as he has some. Food isn’t an immediate necessity.

He stands there calmly, taking in his surroundings as he absorbs and attempts to understand all the information he has been given. Anyone passing by is free to notice him. However, having little to no trouble deciphering the technology of the headset unit, he does finally speak over the network.

His voice is calm, but not without purpose.
] I’m Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the U.S.S. Enterprise. It seems that I’ve been taken from my ship and... imprisoned here with the rest of you. As we all seem to find ourselves in a similar situation, I hoped a number of you might find the time to answer a number of questions.

First. Under whose authority do Veridical and Conscienti imprison their inmates in MarinaNova Asylum?

Second, on what planet does the Saylar Ocean exist?

Third, and I suppose last but not least for now, what is the approximate length of time in which one remains here within the dome for this… decidedly contrived attempt at rehabilitation?

[There is a pause here, as he considers whether or not to tack on another question here. There are just so many things to ask and Jean-Luc is known for being too curious for his own good. Finally, he decides against it.] Any explanation to any of these questions would be of great help. Thank you.

She's got a clone that she's not entirely sure what to do with, but she knows that someone has to take care of him, make him into the man he could be. The Doctor thinks she's the person for that. She still hasn't decided how she feels about that. It's the Doctor, but it's not the Doctor, not the way his other regenerations are. She does know that this isn't the time to be put in prison, particularly without her human!Doctor or her Doctor!Doctor.]
