Day 202 [Action | Open to anyone] Merlotte's
[No doubt it's been a long day for some, newbies or standard inmates. Maybe you're lost, worried, feeling kind of alone and like ya need a stiff drink. Maybe you lost someone a few days ago, maybe you were hoping to find someone or head home yourself, but it didn't happen. Or maybe you're just hungry.

In any case, Merlotte's is open for business and the owner, Sam, is almost always there. There's even a pool table! Come on in and relax, forget about your worries and troubles for a while.]

((ooc: this can work like a mingle if you want to thread-jack and use it for an open meeting spot or what have you. This was kind of a random sudden thing, so have at it! If you want Sam just let me know in your header (or on plurk) , or feel free to mark closed threads for you and yours.))

[ He could've gone to the Blood Shack. It's more "his kind of place" as Faith so eloquently put it, but truth be told he's had enough of fellow vampires for today. He just wants a drink. That's all. Let off some steam or drown his frustrations, perhaps.

He gives Sam a nod as he slides onto the bar stool. ]

[Why go to the blood shack when you've got friends in low places right here? Sam nods in return, takes up a bottle of Jack, shakes it with some ice to chill the liquor then pours a neat glass. He slides it to him, quirking a brow some.]

What happened to you? [Bartender. He can sense that frustration. Or maybe it's the shifter in him, dogs sense when somethings up with the people they care about.]

[Dawn slides onto the stool next to Spike. She doesn't say anything at first. She's just there looking a little worse for the wear emotionally. Back in the day she would have confided in Spike. Now... now she'll just settle for his company, even evil!Spike's company.]

Do you think they serve minors here? I mean its prison. I'm eighteen. Back home I could go to any college party and get some trashcan punch... or a jello shot. Something fruity and tasty.

[Lacus happens not to be working at this moment, but she likes to spend time where there are people, engaged in whatever idle chitchat they will offer her. Still, she can tell a troubled person when she sees them, human or not, and so when she slides onto the stool beside Spike's, halfway through a drink of her own, her smile softens.]

[Offering herself up for "dinner"? Perhaps. But as she may have mentioned, she doesn't doubt herself, even when faced with one of the more dangerous inmates.] You're becoming quite the regular here. I'm glad.

[It had been some time since Sougo had gone to a bar here in the prison, and he'd been wanting to give Merlotte's a try. Today is the day, so he goes and seats himself on a bar stool after getting himself a drink. It got lonely always hanging out by himself, and bars were a great place to secretly brood and attempt to be social for a minute because talking about drinking and being trashed was easy and distracting.]

Ya know we have bartenders for that, don't even have to tip us.

[Only somewhat scolding, more of a playful suggestion. For next time. After all, the booze is free so he can't really complain too much. So he isn't.]

[There is probably a million things wrong with drinking with one Salvatore all morning and then going somewhere to drink even more, but it's predictably Alaric's life. No more papers to pass the time grading, not even if he just wanted a distraction. Truthfully he's eyed the school, figured the last thing they needed was some pathetic alcoholic, then passed it by.

And Sam's a good guy, as much as he's talked to him. Why the hell not?

His relationship with Stefan isn't exactly, uh, close, but he's thinking he can guess when a vampire is trying to drown themselves in booze. He knows what it's like.]

Hey, uh. Stefan. [Smooth. He takes the stool beside him, a little thankful his morning encounter was mostly concerned with coffee. Mostly. He tries not to think of dismembered corpses and it's a little harder than he'd like.

[What kind of a bar owner would he be if he didn't notice an obviously underage girl at his bar? Not that it really mattered here in prison. He was so used to the laws back home but at the same time, he never really agreed that an 18 year old could die for their country but never have a beer. He's torn really, cause it'd feel wrong to serve her just because of how many years he's had to card and kick kids out of Merlotte's back home but...

[Buffy is working part time as a waitress at Merlotte's. True, her experience with waitressing in LA didn't go so well, but Sam had assured her that she wouldn't have to put up with customers smacking her on the butt. She liked the people here and the atmosphere. The uniform was a lot better than the cow chicken hat she'd had to wear during her flirtation with fast food and her shifts were flexible. They also filled up a good deal of her time here. That was more important than one might imagine when you're suddenly left with a lot of time after not having any.

Besides, with her new memories, it does remind her a little of the barista job she had and she had liked that.]

[Jessica's working, mostly. Then again, the smell of real food? Not so great to her so she'd rather just focus on getting it to people as quickly as possible. She works more at the Blood Shack lately, but she still helps out here when she can. Sam was the first person to ever hire her back home -- a lot of people wouldn't due to her being a vampire. It's not something she forgets.
