[It's Kitty but it's also not Kitty. Her hair is long and held back in a pony tail. She's still older than the other resident Kitty though. And her style is unique from both of them.]

I've been here a little while and haven't done the whole, hi, I'm here thing. So, let's get it out of the way. Hi, I'm Kat. Kat Pryde if you want it Bond-style. I already know the ropes of the place so don't worry about giving me all the details. But introductions are good. [She's also wondering if anyone has heard of her. I mean, she was on Jimmy Kimmel's show not long ago talking about one of her company's prototypes and giving a shout out for mutant rights. She's kind of used to being recognized. Not sure how that plays here though.]

Also, and this might be jumping several guns at once, but I'm thinking there should be an inventor's club thing if there isn't one already. I have tech skills we have some raw materials. Who's with me? I might also be interested in a teaching position. I know, I know, I look like a kid, and I am, but I'm also a CEO with some teaching guest lecturing credits under my belt. [The smile is just a little smug which is also covering up some of the "oh em gee" of being in this place. Her life has never exactly been normal, but it's never been this either. It's kind of exciting too though.]

Okay, so the day hadn't started so well. Mal never took to showing up somewhere new well. He especially didn't take well to his coat being gone. Again. But the anger was short lived. After finding a lightweight button down, some pants, and a decent pair of boots, he made his way out...

and found the game room. Oh he planned on kicking some serious butt at Chinese Checkers. In fact, he absconds from the game room with it, preferring to play in the Cavern Pub. Why yes he'll turn it into a drinking game! He will also pressure ask everyone in his vicinity to play.

Later that evening he makes his way into the casino. They have a Tall Card set. Perfect. "So you have plums here. And you need..." he explains the rules to whomever is willing to play.

[OOC: Note, the mun has no idea how to play Tall Card, though apparently a game has been made... I'm very happy to wiffle my way through it.]

[ While Kitty is moving on with her life through puppies and paint, Reid is continuing with his through the same routines as always. It's a strange, quiet day what with the robots not being around for once and it's that silence that makes him leave the apartment and hit the streets. He needs to pick up some things for the apartment anyway, now that Nathan's moved in, needs to pick up some books at the library and a couple of extra notebooks and printer paper. Stuff. Life goes on, and today it goes on with lighter steps.

He can be found en route to the library or Bull's Eye, or studying the kiosk in Sector 0. There has to be something going on, right? ]

[Kitty turns the video back on herself and smiles.] So, I have a dog and I will let you pet her if you come help me paint the apartment. I have plenty of brushes and rollers. There's also a bunch of pizza. [Which she'll actually have to cook since the robots aren't playing nice with anyone today. It's something she has her eye and her team on, but she's going to keep living life for now.] And drinks.

Stay for an hour. Stay until it's done. Whatever you're up for. Good times ahead. [And she's more into having the company than making people work. Definitely some big changes going on. The one she doesn't mention is that she and Reid broke up again a few days ago.]

[Step right up! The door and windows are open in her sector 4 apartment. There's plastic covering quite a bit of it and paint swatches up for the appropriate rooms. Dark blue in her bedroom, gold for the kitchen, a brighter blue in the living room, aqua in the bathroom, gold again in her office and Nathan's room—even though he's not going to be living there anymore is pure black as requested. There are coolers in the kitchen with an assortment of refreshments, some alcoholic. She'll throw pizzas in every now and again. Who knows what will be playing when you walk in a little Alice Cooper or KISS or some AC/DC. This is a judge-free zone, guys. Oh, and Chicago will probably greet you at the door.]

[She finally makes her way out of the apartment, taking a long route to the Defense Force headquarters if only to avoid passing too closely to other apartments and popular sites. Who would be in the cemetery, right? When she gets to her office she gathers some things up to work on, not interested in staying long.]

[ Something that is red is....?]

[It's snowy. The wind is strong, pushing against your body. It makes it difficult to stand against the blizzard that blots out the sky turning everything to white. It's cold, too, the area mountainous with only scattered trees. The only thing you can be thankful for, is that you seem to be dressed appropriately for the weather. But the more you wander, freezing in the elements, you'd really like to get out of the storm and into somewhere warm. Looking down to try and keep the snow from hitting your face, you glance down, and that's when you see it.

In a world covered in white, red stands out.

Blood.

It covers the ground, staining the snow in a bright color that can't be missed. That's when you hear it, though. There's a voice up ahead. Looking up, you can clearly see a man. Smiling as though he had just won a prize, he speaks down to a little girl no more than five years old who stands in the midst of the blizzard.]

Are you lost, little girl? [The smile widens and he reaches down toward her. A snarl overtakes him, and lips parting, pointed fangs are clearly visible as he grabs her roughly] If that's case, then may I drink your blood? [The child is petrified, her eyes widening as the man grabs her, forcing her head to the side as he easily restrains her within his grip.]

...! Sto-- [She starts to cry in a young, terrified voice. You know and realize immediately that if you don't do something, he'll bite her.]

Hold it right there!

[With a hand held out dramatically, she points at you. It's dark, but thanks to the lamps that decorate the many crisscrossing paths of Cross Academy, you can both see each other clearly in the dark. Upon inspection, the one who's suddenly stopped you is a long haired brunette, dressed up in a black school uniform. You might not know her, but usually she is recognized as being the Headmaster's adoptive daughter and the younger sister to the infamous Kaname Kuran.

Adjusting an armband near her shoulder, she places her opposite hand on her hip.]

Don't you know it's past curfew? I'm going to need your name and class number.

[ Cabin in the woods ]

[ It's quiet out here. Not silent, but quiet. Peaceful is the word, perhaps, for the stillness that permeates every inch of the landscape. Wide stretched fields, deep dark woods with a heavy scent of pine and damp moss, the lingering sweetness of manure that follows along on the breeze. It's late summer, with the chirp of crickets and berries ripening in the outskirts of the woods.

You approach a cabin. It's small, two tiny rooms and a tinier kitchen, a rickety porch and a roof that may not survive another winter. Across the yard, an old barn that houses nothing but a rusted over tractor and a handful of chickens, happily cooing and roosting in the hay. This hasn't been a farm in a long time but someone is living here. Vegetables grow behind the house, a clothing line is stretched out between two gnarly old apple trees in the yard, the clothes still damp and smelling of soap. No electricity, no running water, if you need the bathroom you'll have to settle for the outhouse.

Dream 1: Afterglow
[Welcome to the afterglow. You're all wrapped up in each other, flushed, and pleasantly exhausted. Maybe you see each other as naked and curled up in bed together or maybe you're in the shower up against a wall in the living room or an alley in some partial state of dress. Maybe you're defiling a tree out in public. There are so many places available for these things. Was it a surprise or is your mind already hard at work making it make sense to you? Hard to say if it's all cuddling and pillow talk from here or just a cool down before round two (or three?)]

That was amazing. [She still sounds breathless.]

Dream 2: Home Sweet Home
[You've arrived inside the living room of a middle class couple living in Deerfield, Illinois. It's a cozy space—lived in, but not too messy. There's a thirteen year old girl with bushy brunette hair sitting at the dining room table reading the same page of a book over and over again. Her father and mother are sitting on the couch in the adjoining living room watching some television. You can't interact with them yet. The front door is blasted open sending splinters of it flying across the room. Then large men who are more technology and armor than flesh and blood file inside. You can't speak or move. You feel trapped and helpless as you watch this play out. The girl drops her book and stares but she seems just as frozen as you.

This afternoon we're going to do a thing. Be at the headquarters. If you know someone who isn't a member, but they're interested in joining you can bring them too. [She knows it may not be the best day after hearing this morning's announcement, but since the wardens played with them yesterday she knows the day should be clear of their interference and they have some new recruits so they should probably all meet each other.]

[The thing in question is on the roof of the headquarters. Kitty brought food and drinks which thankfully she did not prepare. It's all snack-sized finger foods. She wants everyone to have a chance to know their teammates better. She isn't going to force any group activities but there are some tables and chairs for people who want to relax more or maybe play a game. She did leave a few decks of cards out.]

[Early Morning]

[Not that she's really fond of rain, but the overcast sky definitely makes the daylight a little easier on the eyes. While she hasn't had a chance to get an umbrella yet, she does have on a raincoat and boots. Out on the street, she doesn't particularly seem to be trying to avoid the puddles, though, when she purposefully steps in one experimentally. It's been quite a while since she's gotten to experience a rainy day, and it kind of feels nice. Lifting a hand up she lets the light rain fall upon her.]

. . . This can't really be a simulation, can it? [It's just that... everything feels so real, even if she knows the defense force wouldn't lie.]

Rainy smell, mother would have said on a day like this. [Only unlike her she doesn't have an umbrella at the moment, or someone to share it with. Join her in the rain?]

[Convenience Store ]

[Frowning heavily, Yuuki stares at the small container of pills within her hand, standing within one of the aisles of the convenience store. In reality, it hasn't been that long since she's last had to have one of these things. But it feels like it. And blood tablets have never been her idea of a good meal. The taste is terrible, the immediate flash of unknown presences within her mind unwanted, and it's never been a very good experience. But- there's little choice in the matter.

Ever since the incident with Spike the day before, she's noticed the increase in thirst. The smell of blood hardly helped, and going for a few days without anything has her senses a little overly aware. She's thirsty, she knows. But she's unwilling to drink the unknown blood within the blood packs, and this is the best she can do. Opening the container there, she shakes one out into her hand, before swallowing it whole there. She makes a face, but forces it down.

It isn't pleasant, and is hardly the most sating thing, but it should do the trick for now.]

Hear ye, hear ye! Inmates, prisoners, fellow underwater dwellers! Lend me your ears and hands and actually just bring all of you because we're having a ye olde Renaissance Faire to celebrate a full year in this bubble under the sea!

The dome has of course been decked out appropriately. Flickering torches light the pathways, interspersed with larger bonfires that you can cosy up to with that special someone - or perhaps just a glass of honey mead. Pennant banners hang across the gates and along the buildings, sporting the proud coat of arms of the prison (a lot of purple and octopi, for some reason) and many of the clothing stores offer time-appropriate options for those of you who still knows how to have fun. The kiosk has even been re-imagined into a castle.

Many areas within the dome has activities to partake in and, if you're skilled or lucky or both, prizes to win!

Hey, everyone. We had a lot of new people arrive yesterday. It's the biggest group in a while. [She wondered if that said something about the state of the prison, but she kept going through her message without missing a beat.] I just wanted to let everyone know that the Day After Welcome Mingle is happening over at the Sizzle & Sear tonight. It's basically a way to help the newbies get to know people around them. So, newbies and oldbies can all come down and hang out. There will be comfort food and drinks.

If you have anything from home in the way of a recipe or comfort type meal you want me to try making for you, I can definitely give it a go. Just let me know, okay?

[At the restaurant, Piper was definitely doing her thing. It was a little harder with such a large group now that she had lost her hostess Inara again to the system glitch, but she was handling it pretty well, and Sam was a great help when he wasn't focused on the bar.

Standard menu is available, as well as traditional comfort foods that Piper already knows... like mac & cheese, etc. She's also looked up a few Russian dishes after Checkov requested them a while back, so there's a couple of them around, too.]

[Poker night at Kitty's place in sector 4! She has them set up at the kitchen table with cards and poker chips. There's a variety of snacks set up along the counters—pretzels, chips, dips, pizza rolls, meatballs with toothpicks, etc. There's also some pie because Chuck is here! Ice cream in the freezer since Kitty lives here. You'll also find water, sodas, wine, and beer. Stay hydrated!

There's also a living room with comfortable seating for taking breaks or relaxing after the game. If you're going to snoop you might find a Nathan hiding out in his room or peek through a partially opened door to see Kitty's room. It's very utilitarian—no decorations, generally clean though there are stacks of books, tech, and clothes here and there. For anyone who visited other apartments she's had they were a little warmer and included more personal touches. Nothing too exciting to find in the bathroom, you perv!]

Twas the day after Newbie Day, when down by the beach in the dome--

Stockings and other decorations were hung alongside jack-o-lanterns, baskets full of colored eggs, boxes of heart-shaped candies, and other things. The only creature that seemed to be stirring in this early morning hour was Quinn Fabray, who took it upon herself to see to a good bulk of the set up. Tables and chairs were set up alongside a makeshift stage and dance floor, with bright orange extension chords stretched out across the sand to give life to the lights, music, and karaoke machine. Games, should anyone want to play them, were set up to the immediate right of the food tables.

Don't be late! The Holiday Mash-Up starts promptly at 5PM. Bring your dates, wear your gowns and costumes, and celebrate all those holidays from home.
