Heatwave Event - Day 377!
Summer is approaching and the wardens have decided to turn up the temperature for a day!

For the duration of Day 377 (May 23-29) the dome will be experiencing a heatwave. Temperatures will rise to 90°F/32°C and the wardens will treat you to all sorts of cooling techniques, including water balloons, super soakers, appropriate beach wear, cold treats in the food stands and a full-blown waterpark in Sector 0!

This is adorable and I'm jealous. It's cold and rainy today, and not summery at all!

This boy will whine, probably, but the whining will be limited unless someone actually pelts him with a water balloon or super soakers him in the face. (Then, the whining limiter will be removed, and he will hiss and spit and glower.)

So naturally someone should organize a proper water balloon fight that Lelouch and other spoilsports can accidentally get caught up in.

	I will get on board with that. Shallan will probably play just to beat the heat, since she's used to a world where it "rains" on a regular basis. Anne on the other hand will need to be hit with a water balloon to join in, methinks. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Yuuki is going to melt away. What is with this heat? What is with such a hot climate? It's usually cool all year round back home. It's too bright, she might just want to stay in some A/C all day and emerge once the sun goes down...

Kija will find it hot too. If someone can convince him to swim he might consider it, but it would take some prompting. He'll spend too much time being overly flustered over women's swim suits, and wonder if it's even proper for the men and women to be swimming together with how everyone is dressed. ~~He's a pure pure boy~~

If someone is able to get him out and about and swimming in pants or a swim shirt though despite things, they'd be able to see the giant claw marks on his back.

For like five seconds I was impressed that someone was out-prude-ing this kid, but then I remembered that women in bikinis or even naked are kind of just background noise and Lelouch reserves his scandalized faces for other things, like, Suzaku hiking up a skirt.

Lelouch himself models pretty modest swimwear, donning long swim shorts (like knee-length) and polos/hoodies/Hawaiian shirts unless he's literally in the water, which he probably won't be, so I volunteer him for reassuring Kija that you don't need to wear a speedo to swim. (And being a bit baffled by the shyness!)

The scars look... fun! :(

	Nico will be stubborn and try to keep his jacket on for as long as he can and probably insist on going about his day as usual unless someone convinces him otherwise. (No, the water park does not look fun. Shut up.) But he can manipulate shadows, so he could provide extra shade. (He can also lower temps, but you'd have to really tick him off.) Ahh man, this will be so good.

Zero, similar to Yuuki's comment, will be super fatigued and may even pass out. He'll take advantage of the pool or the like, but most likely only after the sun sets.

Jae-Ha will be so good with this event. He's spent much of his life living on a ~~pirate~~ ship, so he loves swimming. owo The women's' swimsuits will be a HUGE SHOCK. He canonly has a hobby of going to brothels, but by today's standard all of the ladies there are fairly modest in dress. Also, bring on the water guns and balloons. He'll be so entertained by them (the future is awesome). A lot of swimming will happen, too. —MORE SO, THOUGH. He'll wear leg skins. And hopefully a pair of water shoes, idk. He really, really doesn't want people seeing his his dragon's leg (pic 2 is somewhat NSFW 8') ). He'll be eye-candy, regardless. ♥

Sai Will play around and take advantage of the water balloons and guns. Possibly adding more to them. Like ice water. Because hurting people is fun? Yes.

Kazuki, having grown up on a small island, will be so in his element. Lots of swimming, and generally enjoying himself.

Is Sai mean enough to try to actually freeze the water balloons or anything so that they hurt when they hit people, or JUST make them extra super cold?

also due to your plurk I now want Lelouch and Zero to talk about the eight million things they apparently have in common, BUT I GUESS we should probably pace ourselves.

I want threads with all of them, idk. Sai should feel free to pester Lelouch about the cooking, lol. Though he will NOT get food if he douses Lulu with ice water, as Lulu does not believe in reinforcing bad behavior. ~~C.C. might beg to differ~~

Mods, look what you did: I've spend twenty minutes trying to figure out if iced tea was a thing in Victorian England.

My conclusion is that Sebastian is going to spend the morning making 567326 servings of iced tea until he gets it just right so he can finally serve it to the nobility he waits on.

Y'all can have the 567325 servings that only turned out 99% perfect, he guesses.

	As an actual English person, I can tell you that iced tea isn't even really a thing here now, so I'd assume it was unheard of in Victorian times. We just don't have the climate to need it. We drink hot tea, to warm ourselves up. :-D An English Victorian alternative might be lemonade? i.e. real lemonade made from actual lemons and sugar? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Duo will be running around soaking anyone who moves. ^_^ I will post a top level for him for anyone who wants to get hit. I will not post him as hitting people with water unless you want me to, so if you want it, and I tag into your thread, just let me know and he can easily soak your character down!

Piper will be adjusting the menu at the Sizzle & Sear to compensate. She'll have things like fresh fruit, refreshing cool drinks like iced tea and lemonade (and lots of water), and other warm weather recipes. I'll probably post a separate post for her with a new menu.

Tieria does NOT like heat. His body is designed for outerspace, so his tolerances lie in cooler temperatures. Heatwaves are a bad thing for him. He's also generally grumpy, so if someone wants to hit him with water at some point, please do. LOL. He'll probably hate your character for it, but nothing permanent. Hee!

Kitty will look at this as a typical summer. New York can get pretty hot, especially in Westchester, so this is kind of normal for her. Expect to find her sunning at the beach, willing to participate in water fights, and just having a good time.

Bless you sweet summer children, Max is 1000% used to this.

And because Max is 1000% used to this, the only thing that will change will be...Well. Nothing, to be honest. He's got this.

That being said, he's probably going to be highly alarmed/uncomfortable/grumpy about the wasting of water (seriously, what are you doing splashing in it, you should be hoarding it). Those kind of habits are really hard to break, you know. While I 100% do not recommend soaking him with a super soaker or pegging him with a balloon, a bath, even if it's a dunking in some water park water, will probably be a good thing, so anyone who volunteers for getting him wet gets a gold star from me. He is desperately in need of it.

Oh my...

Sarah is still terrified of water. Which means she will be only doing things that don't involve submersion. So water ballon fights and super soakers. Of course, if anyone wants to try and coerce her to try the water park, she will argue about how it's a terrible idea!

Martha will be hanging around in a bikini and enjoying the heat. She may be convinced to join in on water park fun or beach fun too.

Mal and Link are going to be more than a little confused. Mal's used to heat (lots of deserts on the border planets) but not so much water like this. Link will just find the whole thing bizarre.

Ianto will maybe wear a t shirt if he is feeling super festive but probably just not and I assume Jack will be in BEACH TIME MODE and he can put up with it and hate everything but also secretly not.

Phanan will be organizing a dome wide water balloon fight, so if you want to participate in that please do. If you do not want to participate in it he is still happy to attack you.

Kanji will be in his swimsuit, please join him for an anime beach trip episode.

Aigis will be providing helpful temperature readings to alert you if you are in danger of overheating. Please remain calm and hydrated.
