[There was a bit of a mail delay with PM's disappearance, but everyone on the team should have gotten a letter this morning. By noon the roof of the new Defense Force headquarters is ready for guests. It isn't exactly decked out, but there is a long table with finger-foods: small sandwiches, fruits, and hors d'oevres as well as sweets like cupcakes and truffles. An arrangement of sodas and bottled waters sits on one end next to an enclosed punch dispenser. Sorry, no spiking the punch, kids. There are also small standing tables around the edges. The only real seating comes in the form of benches along the sides. The point is to get to know the rest of the team, not to sit and eat, so this suits Kitty just fine. They can thank Lacus for the fact that there is food at all and that things have been arranged in such a way to promote circulation.

She waits until it seems like most everyone has drifted in and calls for their attention while perching herself up on the wall itself. No fear of heights here.]

With Hotch showing up you'd think that he'd have better things to do but their fearless leader will need some time to adjust and Morgan seemed to be on that, so the class will be on like scheduled. The bots have been busy cleaning up the dome and setting up decorations for this momentous occasion, and by now there isn't a nook or cranny left un-pimped! Bright blue MarinaNova flags wave happily in the artificial breeze together with the colorful ribbons that have been wrapped around poles. The streets are illuminated by strings of lights and paper lanterns and each sector gate has been lovingly decorated with fragrant flower garlands.

Of course, that is far from all! There wouldn't be much of a festival without entertainment and your loving wardens have made absolutely sure that there's something for everyone!

Happy hat day. And secret word day. Even if it's less kinkier than it sounds in reality.

But before I dare you to guess my secret word, I've got something else to talk about.

[She swivels her chair around, putting her laptop's screen and what page on it is open into view.] I talked about making a wiki about a week ago, and I pretty much have it put together. It's not decked out or anything, but the bones are there for people to pad. If you've got access to the dome's intranet, check it out sometime. Took the liberty of making it [and she shows the address on camera as she says it aloud] novanotes dot wiki.

If you aren't sure what a wiki is, it's an editable encyclopedia basically. This one's about the dome, so info doesn't fall through the cracks and people can read up on stuff that they either have questions about, or are interested in. It might cut down on a lot of the usual chatter when newbies arrive. It's freely editable to anyone with a connection who makes an account, which means I'm putting trust in people to make accounts and smart edits. But I've got the ban hammer for anyone who doesn't, so...

We've got ourselves some new digs. Still in sector two and not too far from the educational center, but free standing. It's one of those many empty building set up around the place. It looks like it was designed to be something retail, but I figure we can make it work. I've already found some dividers. Talk to me if you have experience building actual walls or magic wall-generating abilities.

Team leaders, I've got an idea of where I think things need to go, but I want your input.

Rebecca, you're in charge of getting dispatch relocated.

Zatanna, I want you to put in some security measures like we talked about before.

We've also been losing people to the dimensional stabilizer, so Derek is temporarily also a sector team leader. [Sorry, Peter.] He's already got a position though, so if there is anyone else looking to step up, let me know. Also, Faith will be taking over her sector. Teams are a little unbalanced right now, but instead of moving people to new assignments, let's just make it a thing that the largest teams check in with the smallest ones to help cover the sectors. When we get new people or returning people back they'll fill up again.

[It isn't her first time teaching, so she's pretty comfortable at the front of the room going through her notes. The hardest part was deciding what to talk about publicly and what not to mention. The force has always been something of a topic for debate. Those present might notice she's wearing her large, metal wrist gauntlets again thanks to Zelgadis. It covers up the blue band at her wrist and they have claws inside! But if all the boys and girls are good they probably won't get popped during class.]

Reid's been planning for this for weeks but something always seemed to come up — until today. He's spent the morning posting flyers about the class with carefully highlighted information about the where and when and now he's left waiting, anxiously rifling through his notes. Lecturing is nothing new, he's done it regularly for years but this is somehow different. This is with people he knows, about subject matters he's been relatively quiet about.

He straightens up once people start filtering in, soon falling into the comfort of the professional. The lecture may begin. ]

[Well, it's been one of those days. And how freaking scary is it that a day where incredibly freaky and distinctly impossible things happen, like for example you're chatting with your ex in sort-of his younger body but one that decidedly belonged to someone else yesterday, is becoming common enough to have a "those days" attached to it.]

[Penelope is straight up freaked. And when she needs someone to make everything all better, she's going right for her very own Chocolatey Deity, Derek Morgan.]

[And sure, things might be a smidge weird since they, uh. Kissed. But Kevin in not!Kevin's body okay, a girl has to set priorities! One weirdness clearly outranks the other! And so by the time she's flinging open the door to her place, she's already shouting for him. Ready or not, here comes your Mama, and she needs some o'those mad cuddling skills right about now.]

[This is a voice post for a reason. But for those who know Derek, his voice is a little off. It’s rough and coarse, a little tight.] Frozen bananas, markers and crayons. Yeah, I probably don’t need to say anything more than that.

So I thought I’d introduce myself to those of you who don’t know me. I’m Derek Morgan and I’m now in charge of the Investigative Team. I’m gonna try and compile and organize what we know. Put it all in one place for us to reference anytime we need to. That seems the most important right now. And after that, we’ll talk about what action we can take to learn more about this place.

Adding some questions in a file for all of you to think about and hopefully answer. If you’ve got any stories to tell about things you’ve discovered or experiences you’ve had keep it in the same filter and we’ll talk about it. Nothing’s too small. Any and all information is important and could potentially lead to another avenue for us to investigate to learn more.

All right, think it's about time we took a look at Sector 6. [ He nods decisively. ] Probably not quite safe, but it's worth it to get to know our fellow inmates, innit? [ He seems serious, but there's probably a gleam of mischief in his eyes. He has a strange enjoyment of exploring dangerous places. ] If anyone wants to come along, I don't mind, long as you can take care of yourself. Seems like a good use of a long afternoon.

Hey, what's up guys?

[Rebecca looks a little tired, but she's hanging out in a pile of blankets on the couch with her laptop in her lap. She gives the camera a little salute, taking a pause to sip from her energy drink.]

I'm working on coding something kind of like an online encyclopedia for the intranet here. Kind of like a wiki, if you've heard of those before, on the internet. Basically, it's a way to have people freely edit and create pages of information that can be easily referenced. I was thinking it might come in helpful for people who haven't been here too long, if they've got questions. And since people come and go, having a hardcopy around might keep less information from falling in between the cracks of person to person conversation.

That's not the reason I'm talking to you guys, though.

[She scrunches her nose.] I need a cool name for it. Shoot me some suggestions, or we might just be stuck with Marina-Wiki. And that's kinda lame.

[The view from on top that floating island is quite spectacular, don't you think? Not that Tyki's giving a really thorough pan of the sights, but the camera does catch an eyeful before it adjusts on him. Slightly unshaven, glasses sitting on the bridge of his nose and yesterday's shirt still wrinkled as it was. His back is against the free standing door, and he salutes the feed with two fingers, the others wrapped around the neck of a bottle.]

This place toys with you. Day after day. Yet you're all still having fun, making the best of your misery.

Is it denial or distraction? [Mostly rhetoric. He takes a long sip from the bottle, pushing his glasses farther up his nose.] I wonder how many of you have actually embraced reality.

... And if any of you can get up here, you're free to have a drink with me. [He scoffs, since that's highly unlikely and he chose this place for it's inaccessibility.]

Team adjustment with the land of the lost open. [Business time.] My team is going to cover Sector 6 and Buffy is going to lead a new Sector 5 team. Patrols and dispatch are thin right now. We're working on interviewing the interested and skilled and getting them into our ranks. Until they're beefed up, just call in reinforcements as needed.

Now you can just...stop watching the network and that would be fine. [Because she is opening up the filter.]

[She adjusts the device to have a wider angle and sets it down before stepping into the shot. She stands there a moment before dancing. Yes, dancing for everyone. She's actually very good at it. See, once upon a time Kitty had a very different kind of life. The routine is an old one she did years ago, and has modified. It's a combination of ballet and more contemporary moves with high energy. One of her punishments was an open performance and this should cover it. After a few minutes which included some pretty acrobatic moves that might look more like fighting than dance, she finishes and walks back to the device.]

You guys, [more giggling] they're like giant fuzzy wasps. I swear they're laughing too. It's weirdest thing. Probably not the weirdest. I've seen weird things. This one time I was supposed to take out the leader of genetic experimentation plant and he had three heads and none of them had eyes. He totally saw me though. I don't know how.

What was I talking about? Oh! Right, they, um, they can sting. Don't get stung. [More giggling.] Oh! [Wait for it.]

Hi, everyone! I've been pretty quiet lately, but I've had my hands full with a few different projects, so please forgive me for that. [ Subaru is still quite enthusiastic, despite starting her broadcast with an apology. ]

I'm making this broadcast because I wanted to say that some of that work was in preparation for tomorrow's class. Those who are on the Defense Force already know about it — [ Because she would have stopped everyone she knew to be on the DF to see if they were interested! ] —but the Emergency Management seminars are open to everyone, and not just us. In fact, I encourage everyone to attend at least one session, even if you're new!

The whole point is to keep everyone safer and get ready in case any emergency situation arises. An accident at the beach, an injury while working with tools, a sudden fire or flood... things like that. [ Her expression calms a bit, because she wants to look reassuring. ] I'm not saying that bad things will happen, but I won't say it's out of the question. The domes — this one and the last — both had their share of incidents and I want to better prepare everyone for as many possibilities as I can think of.

[ She puts a hand to the back of her head. ] Eheh, I guess fire drills will be more difficult to arrange now... maybe I should organize them per sector...?

[ The purple-haired woman cut off her own train of thought and bowed her head. ] Thank you for listening. The class itself is tomorrow, so I hope to see a bunch of you there!
