( Kahlan had shown up with very little and she was pregnant – Keelin still couldn’t get used to the idea of being an aunt – so she was going to need more clothes before long. )

( There wasn't much entertainment that Echo couldn't find in the streets. )

( All the while, Bryce sort of found it hard to concentrate when he had the Flash Gordon theme song running through his head. )

( Hyemi had been meaning to speak to Micah ever since he died and quit the basketball team. Well no, she wasn't really that bothered about the fact that he'd died (although his new delicious corpse smell could be rather distracting just before lunch), but quitting basketball? That was a BIG DEAL. )

WEATHER: Temperatures have dipped slightly and there’s a definite chill in the air, but it’s still not what native Michiganders would call ‘cold.’

So, you might remember a crazy raving elderly couple playing with a ball of light. Apparently they’re not just a local thing. Similar experiences are being reported worldwide. A couple of people seeming rather out of place, throwing around an actual ball of light. The next morning, something strange happens. Local authorities haven’t really put two and two together yet, but a group in Rome claims to have the answer: faeries. Supposedly, they’ve got some ancient documents detailing how it looked when ‘the fair folk’ channeled magic. They would appear to throw an orb of light, and when it was finally dropped, strange things would happen. And strange things have been happening around the world, lately. Apparently the police were called over a strange ‘ball of light’ being thrown back and forth across the street in a small town in Maryland, and when they arrived on scene, the pair dropped the ball – which promptly exploded, and all of a sudden both police officers could only speak in the Susquehannock language. This feat is particularly impressive considering the language went extinct when the last known speakers were murdered in 1763. It wore off after a couple days and they’re speaking English again, and they insist the pair that had been playing with the ball sprouted wings and flew away. Huh. Trippy.
