So turn it on, tune it in, and stay inert

Who: Alexander and Alanna
Where: Scarlet Oak Humane Society
When: Noontime

"No no no! Scruffles! Come back!"

One of the calico kittens had made a break from the play pen of kittens to go wander about the front room of the humane society, but Alex wasn't going to let that adorable ball of fluff get away. He had been playing with all of them, sitting in the middle of the play pen as ten kittens climbed all over him, purring and meowing and clawing up his limbs. The scratch marks didn't bother him and with his accelerated healing, they would be gone come night time. What did bother him was that Scruffles was no paying attention to him while Alex crawled after the kitten on all fours. "Scruuuuffleeeeees..." Alex spoke in a somewhat stern voice as he brought his face down to the same level as the kitten. The calico eventually stopped and eyes Alex, letting out a soft mew, and in turn Alex meowed right back at the fluff ball. After a moment of hesitation, Scruffles came walking on back to him and headbutted his face.

"There we go!" He chuckled with a massive smile on his face, scooping the kitten up in his arms while he sat up. It was great to be back in the humane society after the demon attack happened. This time around, his family was ready for it and had various emergency rooms for the animals, along with bringing a handful home, because puppies playing with wolves never got old. With the attacks dying down and no one within his pack being injured, Alex could be at ease once again. The animals definitely took his mind off of things, like being reminded that the first wave of demons took his father's life. Pushing that memory aside for the time being, he nuzzled into Scruffles and blew a few kisses towards the kitten.

Keeping Up with the Crazies

Who: The Forsythes!
When: Late afternoon
Where: the Forsythe house

Erin found it a little difficult to get back into work mode after a weekend of, well, vigilantism, and found it was no wonder Bruce Wayne could be such a tool. Putting down the Bat-cape wasn't easy! Thankfully, by mid-morning that day she'd been back to her normal state of being entirely consumed by her work, and she found herself falling back into routine. Even while inwardly determining that any part of this becoming routine was, without a doubt, bugfuck crazy. Demon revolt, death death death, back to work and watching TV for a week, lather, rinse, repeat. Oh well.

She did feel a bit of pride at the fact that the Forsythe and Family Funeral Home was safe and operational through-out it all. Having the place blessed had really done some good.

After finishing up for the day and grabbing a shower, Erin headed back downstairs, finding the door to one of the private grieving rooms ajar. Doors tended to open and close on their own accord in the Forsythe house, but what respectable funeral home wasn't haunted? She just closed the door without a second thought -- just to get an oh so wonderful flash of the widow from the Niemi funeral scoring some hot piece of ass over the weekend. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me." Erin couldn't even remember the last time she got laid in this house! No fair! NO FAIR! Sometimes this touch-know thing really sucked.

Here he comes to save the day!

Who: Beckham & Zale
What: Beckham arrives in Ann Arbor and like the dutiful Fallen he is, he calls to report in.
When: Early Evening, Dusk
Where: Ann Arbor Airport

Beck was smiling as he leaned against a telephone booth. It was crowded, noisy, but it did not bother him. Instead he took out his cellphone for the much anticipated call. Now, how would he react? Ring, ring, ring, ring, click.

"Zale, my dear twisted and hellish mentor," he said as soon as the line picked up, voice cheerful. "Have you missed me? Or has my loving sire been keeping you too busy?"

And they say Bio-Terrorists don't make house calls anymore...

Who: Katsuo and Nikita
Where: Nikita's office over at Cherryblossom Place
When: Around mid-day
Why: To discuss the fruits of habitation and weapons dealing

Katsuo had been traveling all night but he'd finally reached his destination as the trail Kumiko left had ended in this little town. He was irritated from being out in the day, but he had to set exactly where he was going to live first before he could rest. The hotel at the airport was fine for a few nights, but it would not nearly be fit enough for habitation once he'd re-acquired what he showed up here for. After a little bit of research he'd picked out the place with the highest rents and decided that was a good place to look for a home away from home. These sleepy little American towns had none of the charms of his native country, but this was where Kumiko had ended up so this was where he would stay until he found her.

As usual, his suit was impeccably pressed and his countenance indescribably cold as his white eyes washed over the outside of Cherryblossom Place. Approaching the doorman to the building he didn't cast even a second glance as the man's face turned almost stark white. He simply headed to where the main office was as the man ran off to, Katsuo assumed, the location of the nearest lavatory or potted plant. While in the elevator he made a quick call on his cellphone to the number the doorman gave him, and made an appointment with the landlady's assistant for the rather oddly specific time of 12:37. Stepping out of the elevator and approaching Nikita's office at roughly 12:35, he apologized to her assistant and stated that he would politely wait for his proper time. If all went well, he would have a new residence within the hour and he could resume his search for his lost lotus blossom.

O hai, thar!

Who: Brian and Rowan
Where: The Berry Bucket
When: Evening

A job! Finally, a job! Brian was so excited by the prospect of earning some money, little as it was, since this was only a part-time, that if you really looked you could see a bounce in his step as he left his car and walked to the concession stand of the Berry Bucket. He also may or may not have been humming some upbeat song as he walked.

Well, you couldn't fault him for being glad to have found a job, as brief as it was, because he needed all the help he could get paying for his car. Giving up the car itself was, clearly, not an option. If you drove it, just once, you would understand. Plus, this job seemed easy enough, and Brian liked the notion that if he had time maybe he could even see one of the features some time. Also: free popcorn. Maybe. All good things, if he did things right and didn't get caught.

When he reached the concession stand, Brian was already grinning happily at whomever it was he'd be sharing his job title with, who was currently with her - he thought it was a she, considering the long-as-hell hair and all - back turned to him. "Hi!" He greeted, looking around excitedly as he clapped his hands together. Damn, was he excited.

TIME UPDATE

DATE: Tuesday, July 14, 2009.

BIRTHDAYS: None

WEATHER: Holy crap! It's sunny out! Sometime in the night the rain ceased, and temperatures have shot up as the sun comes out. Things are still very wet outside (and in some areas, flooded), and humidity is at 100%. But... sun!

EVENTS: The last round of demonic activity seems to have been effectively fought off. While its not the same for all areas, most of lower Michigan is safe (or, as safe as it ever was, anyway).

Businesses are reopening, and classes at the U of M are scheduled to start back up again tomorrow. And with things picking up at the university, surprising results of a recent study have been announced to the public.

In the past, there have been ranges of testing on the blood of schizophrenic patients. Schizophrenia patients have certain chemicals in their blood that most do not – and if said blood is ingested by someone without schizophrenia, it can cause hallucinations. And after the Light of May, a group researching this effect wondered, would it work the same for vampires? The results, they found, were immediate, and staggering.

Without fail, every vampire who tasted the blood of a schizophrenic donor experienced a high, comparable to what they experience with psychic blood, though much stronger. Hallucinations were reported in every experience. But that wasn't all.

Schizophrenic blood gives vampires the ability to see ghosts.

The medium abilities, along with the high, last as long as effects from any other blood type, depending on how much a vampire ingests. But wait! There's more!

The research group at the U of M was apparently not content to just leave it at that. They decided to truly test the capabilities, a schizophrenic patient who was also a psychic ought to be tested. Once a proper donor was found, 20 vampires tested the blood. Every one of them dubbed it 'the ultimate high'. Some of the vampire volunteers, who admitted to drug or alcohol use or even addiction in their human lives, insist it was far better than anything they can remember.

Um. Well. Maybe it would have been better for the vampire world to not know about that. How long is it going to take for vampires to start trolling mental hospitals?

Short answer? Not long...

If you have something you feel warrants a mention in the next time update, please let the mods know!
