"Dammit!" The xbox controller smashed into the wall before falling to the floor, the batteries popping out. It was a violent reaction to a video game death, but Hunter was annoyed by more than just that. The phone had been ringing non-stop since he started the level, a distraction he didn't welcome. It rang again and he rose to his feet, ready to rip into the caller if it wasn't something urgent. "Hello?"
There wasn't much that would stop him cold, but a call from the hospital did so. There'd been an accident, a wreck, a head on collision with an eighteen wheeler and his father had been rushed to the emergency room. How long had they been calling with him ignoring the calls? This wasn't something you left on an answering machine. The person on the other line continued to talk and Hunter stood there, open mouthed and white as a ghost. The information was coming so fast that he could barely keep up, but he knew the all important question: "Is he okay?"
