Seeking approval without even knowing Who: Dagmar and Linnea Where: Beside the pool When: Noon
The only thing better than lazing beside the pool was lazing beside the pool when it was storming. Dagmar'd never really been afraid of the thunder and lightning that came along with such things because they meant rain. And rain meant that she wouldn't have any of those desires that she'd always known weren't quite right. Oh they were right with her personality and apparently her blood but they weren't right when it came to her mother's views and that was quite important to her. She tried to pretend that it wasn't but no matter what she said or did her mother's opinion was more important to her than anyone else's and it always had been. Probably always would be too. That was why she'd always insisted on mother-daughter days taking place when it was raining out and the harder the better. She'd even been able to tolerate Satu and Kajsa being included on those days, or Valterri if he decided he wanted to play with the girls for whatever reason. None of which actually mattered right then. All that mattered was that she was relaxing outside on her typical chair while it rained. Going in the pool wasn't happening because water elemental or not she wasn't immune to things like lightning but she could at least enjoy being surrounded by so much of her element. The scents of chlorine and rain itself even masked the wet earth smell so she could entertain the notion for at least awhile that hers was the only element in the world.
Which she really would have been perfectly fine with being true. Though at that moment she actually had nothing against Air. Fire she had somehow gained an intense dislike for based on more than just natural aversion and Earth? Earth was potentially responsible for her being a big sister again. Maybe not directly but one of it's elementals certainly was.
Sighing, Dagmar crinkled her nose as a particularly large raindrop splattered against her eyes, fluttering them open and turned her head to peer inside the house. Maybe her mom'd gone and blessed Kajsa's room because of how badly she'd reacted and her additional refusal to really speak with her despite her agreeing to let Harley's party be held there. She didn't fully understand why her mother did as she wanted and a big part of that was not wanting to understand. Who wanted to admit that their father abused their mother? Or that they'd known it was happening and been unable to do anything because they were too afraid? Where was Slipper when she needed the otter to clown around and cheer her up? The rain wasn't doing as good of a job as it should've.
