[On Wednesday evening, Janet comes home after her shift at Centro and trails her fingers over the railings as she climbs the stairs. Upon reaching her apartment, she realizes two things: Teddy is away for a graveyard shift and she has her cell phone. After all of five seconds worth of debate, she flips it open and sends a text.]

Hey Jimmy. It's your night off. We should take advantage of that, don't you think?

[This message is sent last Friday, the day after Jane meets her grandma.]

Ms. Worth,

It has come to my attention that you believe to have found a living relative in my colleague, Jane Cooper. While Jane is very appreciative of your generosity, she wishes to ensure beyond all doubt that you two do indeed share the biological connection that is supposed. I am writing to request that you provide a genetic sample so that a genetic test may be run to either strengthen or disprove the notion that you two are grandmother and granddaughter.
