Ms. Worth,

I hope that you have had a pleasant evening in preparation for the new decade. While I know very little of how the last decade has treated you, it is my sincere hope that you enjoy the next. Your reconnection with your granddaughter will only enhance the years to come. Jane is an exceptional woman, and I hope that you are able to appreciate that even more in 2011.

Best Regards,

Daryl Hockney

While I imagine that you do not place stock in the fact that the Earth has circled the Sun one more time, I wish you a happy New Year. I am still waiting for our competition, Justin.

[ Locked to E. Eirwen ]

What do you know about ADAM? Thanks to a certain anonymous fairy, it seems I've acquired a box of it. And if that idiot kept any for himself I will personally see him destroyed.

Social networking between apartment buildings. Interesting. I'm Kate, I just moved in here, and I keep weird hours. I'll try to be respectful of my neighbors. What the hell do people even say on these things?

[...]

Also, I'm looking for someone who might be around here. Billy Slater. The last I heard, he was in Seattle. If someone can give me some direction, great. If not, thanks anyway.

[A few hours after the masquerade]

Did we all enjoy the evening? Compliments to Mr. Mercer who hosted the fine event. I'd have sought you out afterwards but found myself busy. I left a gift instead, housewarming - do let me know if you found it and if it helped contribute to the atmosphere.

To the rest of you - those of you who put up with a Phantom for an evening - I thank you. It's a rare evening one can spend out and enjoy themselves at without minimal issues. That said - to the Skeleton, I hope you make good use of what you were told. New lessons will come your way only if I see it fully employed. To the Belly-dancer, keep an eye out on the horizon. Plans for fear are always underway. To the Fairy - how foolish were you over the course of the evening? Come on, don't be shy. To the girl in 18th century ware. I'd advise you to be as proactive as you wish to be. You'll enjoy yourself more. And do realize that while most things can be taken as a joke, there's truth.

And most importantly, Detective Warda - I'm sorry your stay had to end so quickly. Perhaps next time, we'll make it a more permanent arrangement.

-O. G.

Slater do you know where Jen is? I messaged her earlier because she didn't come in for her coffee and there were the drugs in the lobby and I haven't heard from her. Is she just busy or something?

[locked to d. hockney]
You're a genius detective I have a case for you.

[After her last text to Warda, Daryl has been on the move and found out that something huge happened.]

Detective Slater,

I received a text message from Detective Jennifer Warda approximately 70 minutes ago. She told me that she was investigating "clown" activity in Renton, near the mall around Haight. I last received contact from her approximately 65 minutes ago. I have since found that a fire occurred where she was investigating, with clear fatalities. Has Detective Warda been accounted for?

But moving on. Seeing as how all you people are likely more established in this particular location than myself and my compatriot, would any of you possibly know of wear a man could find himself a respectable establishment for the purisut of knowledge or more specifically the perusal of same? I'm looking to brush up on lawspeak, and find myself disappointingly low on materials.

Enough. If it's not children half-dead from terror left on our godddamn doorsteps, it's vigilantes dying and kids brought into our ER with people in masks alongside them. Enough with the cryptic paintings that no doubt glorify the whole spectacle further.

And can I just express my utter horror at aforementioned kids coming in, hurt, when if they stayed off the streets, stayed out of the clutches of adults who should damn well know better? If you're going to be gathering, for god's sake have some damn sense. Even the police don't go out without wearing kevlar.

Okay, so riddle me this, riddle me that, riddle me everything over the sun can somebody explain what's going on? People end up dead, but the papers don't say anything. And when they do, it don't exactly compute from what they say. Like they're leaving stuff out. Standard for papers, I know. Don't have vocal cords, so they can't talk, and the people that make them tend to muzzle them puzzle them just don't guzzle them just to make sure, but that's no excuse. And then there's the guy in spandex and heavy artillery plastered all over the building. And I'm pretty sure it's not just me that's seeing them. I don't know if he's supposed to be somebody I'm supposed to look for or stay away from or if he's coming to town to do birthday parties or what. ...Although anybody who carries loaded guns to a birthday party should have their head examined. People who would pay for that, too. So...some help? I'm a little lost confused scared lost.
