[By the time Rory comes back from work and vigilanting, Sam’s belongings in the apartment have vanished. There’s marks on the floor from her suitcase being dragged out. On the table is two envelopes – one filled with a receipt for two months’ worth of rent and the other with the following note. The page is a little wet in corners and instead of Sam’s usual purple curls, it’s in black ink – scrawled and honest.]

[On Monday, December 13th, after this. There is a knock on the door, and then the sound of the door next to it opening and slamming quickly. Whoever opens the door will discover outside:]

A miniature Christmas tree, perfect in every detail. Its needles are a deep green, its color uniform all over, and though it looks too good to be real its scent couldn't have come from anything artificial. It has tiny, perfect glass ornaments, and lights that shine with no visible source of power. It is in a small pot, cherry red with a golden rim. The initials "DR" are written in a tiny but ornate font right under the rim, in the same gold paint. A note is included in print that is nowhere near as lovely: "Sam - Treasure what's fleeting."

Thirteen hours after it is placed in front of the door, it will turn back into a small pine branch stuck into plain dirt in a cracked flower pot.

So with the Thomas Inc. dinner tomorrow I have to ask is anyone planning on going after the craziness that happened at the masquerade because I really don't want to end up macking on some random dude because of magic or whatever.

My brother is missing.

He's 5'8'' and kind of stocky. He had dark hair, but I believe he shaved it off. Blue eyes, lots of scars on his face and bod. He's broken his nose several times and it hasn't healed right. The way he speaks is very distinctive and simple.

If you've seen him, please let me know. I can't do much in way of payment, but I can't lose anyone else.
