Day 296 // action, sector 0 - closed to Michiru

[info]actsmagnificent
[info]marinanova
[ The added power from transforming into Sailor Uranus was just enough to give Haruka the ability to leap onto the floating island, Neptune close behind her. In one gloved hand she held a small key - the only non-edible prize she'd found from the egg hunt. A lot's happened since then, and it'd interrupted her ability to test this key in the one lock she's the most curious about in the whole prison.

But it's early in the morning and they finally have free rein of the place again. So, before she has to report for community service today...

Holding up the key, she turns to Neptune. ]
It's finally time.

[[ OOC: As outlined in The Awakening plot post, Haruka and Michiru are opening the door atop the floating island. They aren't broadcasting this, though. She'll report what she did to everyone...eventually. ]]

Day 296 : Video - Open to threadjacks!

[Kitty was out walking. Once upon a time she might have called it patrolling, but her thoughts were internal rather than on the environment around her. At least they were until she walked by the arcade only to see a back door of sorts pop itself open and start glowing.

She turns the video feed on and points it at the door. She almost locked this to the Defense Force, but she knew what she was about to do and she wanted Nathan to know too...just in case.]

You don't see something like this every day. [She steps closer toward it.] One minute it was a normal, closed door. The next, well, you can see for yourself. It reminds me of an energy signature. [Some of her fellow X-Men had their own light shows when their powers activated and for the moment she was reminded of Blink's even if the shaping and colors were all wrong. Maybe it was just because it was in a door that had her thinking of spatial displacement.] I don't feel any heat coming off of it. I can't see anything past the light.

I'm going in. [Warning them. Bracing herself.] I'll report what I find as I go. [No plans to turn the feed off.] I'll try to stay phas— [The transmission cuts off abruptly in the middle of her sentence and the feed goes dead.]

(OOC: This takes place during the brief window when doors are open and the lights of the facility are still on. She will be totally unable to respond, but please feel welcome to threadjack amongst yourselves. I'll have notifs off!)

Day 296 — Video/Open

[info]tallerthanthou
[info]marinanova
[Once the siren has gone off Sam turns on his video feed. For the moment he's holding a flashlight on himself as he speaks—scary story style.]

I was still at home when this happened, so I had access to flashlights. [Lots of flashlights. Salt isn't the only thing he's stockpiled in his time here.] I'm guessing that isn't true for everyone, so you might want to stop looking directly at the video. I'm going to just point my light at the screen for awhile so you can use your communicator as a makeshift light source. It's probably not the brightest thing, but it might help. And since you can review things on the network for up to 24 hours you should be able to keep rewinding it.

[Avert your eyes! Here comes the light!]

Is everyone doing okay? I saw Kitty's post about the door. Does anyone else have anything to report?

Day 296 — Real MarinaNova — Central Core Awakening

[info]marinanova_npc
[info]marinanova
[The last thing you remember is walking through a glowing door. Whether that was a good decision or a bad one is going to depend heavily on how claustrophobic you are, because right now you are fully encased in a very streamlined, sophisticated pod. It is regulating your body temperature, monitoring your vital signs, administering nutrition and dozens of other odds and ends to keep your body functional and healthy during its stay.

You're not usually conscious for this part of things. If you were, it would be a pretty boring experience. On the plus side, there aren't any tubes or wires attached to you. Those are a little too outdated for technology like this. The other plus is that you can open your pod hatch with a push. Luckily for you, those muscles in your arms and legs haven't atrophied. That's part of the science, but it's not perfect. There will be some aching and discomfort.

Take a minute to take stock of everything. You're wearing a bodysuit you don't remember putting on. You're in a giant, spiraling room you've never set eyes on before and your powers—if you have any—are blocked. But you're not alone. There are other people pushing their own pods open or lying still and silent in theirs. In fact there is a very large number of pods. You might not recognize everyone, but that doesn't mean they weren't an inmate at one time—they were even if it was brief.

For the moment there are no bots coming for you, no alarms going off that you can hear, and no immediate threats. The space is vast and the doors aren't locked, but you also might not recognize them as doors or understand how to activate them just yet.]

(OOC: This mingle is for those who went through the doors only. There will be two additional mingles for those who went through the doors and one for those who stayed behind. This mingle should be confined to the central core. The next one will be for exploring. EVENT INFORMATION | REAL MARINANOVA INFORMATION. Make sure to read these links. They have additional information you'll need for this setting.)

Day 296 — VR MarinaNova — After the doors close

[info]marinanova_npc
[info]marinanova
[Maybe you saw a glowing door open and avoided it or maybe you have no idea anything just happened, but you know something is up now because everything just went dark. Seriously dark. No ambient light of any kind. The kind of dark that makes you wonder if something's wrong with your eyes. Oh, and there's a siren going off from the speakers on the floating island. Don't worry, that will end in about thirty minutes, but you're not so lucky when it comes to the dark.

The kiosk was open earlier, but it's gone dead now and the maintenance bots are in the same condition. As a bonus some people are missing too! Welcome to Day 296.]

(OOC: This mingle is for those who did NOT go through the doors. EVENT INFORMATION)
