[It took him a while, after Spike attacked him, then threatened him, then attacked his boyfriend, but eventually the idea of talking to Rose occurred to him. Rose might be able to give him some kind of clue as to how to handle Spike.
One quick phone call later, and he's picking up a coffee and heading off to the beach to wait for Rose. He wants to make this look casual and he didn't want to chose any of the parks because it was in one of the parks after dark that Spike first attacked him. He feels the beach is somewhere Spike's less likely to be out hunting.
And if Spike does happen to come upon them talking, he hopes the sounds of the waves might cover anything Spike's annoyingly good hearing might pick up.
He didn't say much over the network, but he assumes he didn't need to. Rose must surely be aware of the tension between himself and Spike at the moment.]
