196 // Addict Anonymous / action

[info]thisiscalm
[info]marinanova
[ The setting may be familiar to some, either from personal experience or depictions in media. A ring of chairs set up in the middle of the floor of one of the Education Center classrooms, a thermos of bad coffee and a carton of stale donuts left out on a table nearby and a basket of brochures — addiction literature, geared towards the many different faces this monster can take.

There's also a basic schedule written on the whiteboard:

• Introduction - tell us your name and addiction.
• Round robin - take turns sharing something about yourselves.
• Open sharing session.

The sentinels ushering the participants in will helpfully inform the group that the sooner they get through the dayplan, the sooner they're allowed to leave. Good luck with your rehabilitation! ]

((OOC: Addicts, to me! Anyone is welcome to be sorted into this group even if you didn't sign up ahead of time. Threadjacking is heavily encouraged, since overhearing conversations will very difficult to avoid in such close quarters. You're also of course free to do other exercises or just chat away amongst yourself rather than follow the instructions! ))

Day 196 || Group 4's Therapy Session

[info]pure_confidence
[info]marinanova
[ Once approached, there's a little table set just inside the entrance way with crayons and name tags ready for the various inmates called to participate in this particular therapy session. Yes, Group 4, you are being called on to be creative with your name tag. Do try not to hold up the line ♥

Inside, there's another table laid out with tea and water, another for coffee. There's a few snacks as well. Fruit, mostly, some pastries. There is also a sign that clearly reads "Do not eat outside this area." No sense getting sick by accidentally drinking the water you used to clean out your brushes after all!

But, honestly. This is a Healing through the Arts session and as such, the various stations in the room are set up in 2's and 3's for your use. Finger painting by the easels. Build your own frame out of colored macaroni. A coloring station for those of a less creative bent, and even a "basket weaving station" for those who want to untangle their frustrations. ]

At each station, one will find a series of random questions:

1. What color best describes you? List three adjectives to explain your choice.
2. What was the weirdest food you've ever eaten?
3. What do you think the most ultimate gift of the world is.
4. What makes you feel the most secure?
5. Who do you admire the most?
6. What is your concept of a fruitful day?
7. Is the glass half empty or half full? What is in the glass?
8. What is something you have lost that you have never found, or were tremendously relieved when you did find it?
9. If you wrote a book about yourself...what would it be about?
10. When have you laughed the hardest? Cried?
11. Or pick out your own

((ooc: Feel free to rotate around the stations or make up your own art activities. The theme of this therapy session is to expose/get in touch with your inner self. Threads for name tags and refreshments will be started otherwise just set up your own character in a thread at whatever station you choose.))

[Day 196] Death Buddies Group [Action]

[info]gotcliffed
[info]marinanova
[Sizzle and Sear is the location of this group therapy as described by the message. A few of the larger tables have been pushed together in a corner of the room, chairs all around them. There is food and drink--although there is a two-alcoholic drink limit--already set out for them. Particularly a large bowl of M&Ms set in the center that seems very out of place considering the food provided in this restaurant (do feel free to put some into a bowl for you!). On one side of the table is a box of art supplies. Paper, pens, markers, paints, glue, and even tiny cut-outs of shapes.

On the other end of the table is two stack of papers--of different pictures. One of line art, the other actual photos. That first stack? Different ways people die. Some of them may seem very specific to certain characters. The other stack? Strange images, some blurry, some bright, some very dim. They're may be people in them, there may be ceilings, darkness, a variety of things that may seem very random at first. But to some those images may look familiar. They might not realize why at first, but it could hit them that the photo they just so happened to pick up is the last thing they saw before they died (or had their last near death experience, no one is saying which).

At each place setting around the table there is a piece of paper with questions, topic starters, activies. The sentinels will let everyone know they will be able to leave sooner if they participate.]

This is how you die )

{OOC: The Ways to Die stack has a picture for just about any kind of death ever, feel free to pick one and make up what it looks like for your character. This is a mingle, so threadjacking and talking over each other is more than welcome. Celebrate being dead!}

#196 | v ♛ group therapy → identity crisis.

[info]borg
[info]marinanova
[ there's a semi-circle of chairs seated before a white board with the words WHO ARE YOU? written in large, black letters across it. below it are follow up questions such as who did you used to be? who do you think you should be? do you know who you are? have you lost your way?, among others. ]

( ooc → welcome to identity crisis 101, folks. even if you didn't sign up for this group ahead of time or get sorted into it, feel free to jump in! Anyone with identity issues of any kind are welcome – newly turned vampires, superheroes who spend a little too much time in the tights, amnesiacs, etc. )

day 196 [ group 2 therapy session | open mingle ]

[info]marinanova
[ When those assigned to Group 2 receive the transmission to their communicators, they are directed to one of the rooms that have been set aside for these sessions in the education center. To facilitate group discussion in a traditional fashion, the chairs in the room have been arranged into a semi-circle. The open portion of the circle faces a white board, upon which has been written an overarching theme, with a few more detailed prompts to spur deeper discussion:

Your Dreams
• Subconscious and Conscious
• Aspirations and Hopes
• Fears and Traumas
• Improving Oneself
• Accepting Limitations

Pushed against the far wall is a table with the weak yet bitter coffee such an environment practically requires, a water cooler with conical "cups" made of paper so thin it feels like it's about to give out, some bland and crumbling cookies, and a number of half-sandwiches with slightly stale bread. By the entrance is another table with blank nametags and markers, leaving it up to the participants to label themselves. ]

day 196 ☠ action [mingle: group 1 therapy session]

[info]marinanova
[Here is the ever adorable, cuddliest and fuzziest location of Marina Nova, the Pet Cafe. There are chairs lined up in a circle with a table in the center. On the table are sheets of paper for the inmates to take and read, if they feel so inclined to participate in this therapy session. Listed on the sheets are topics to discuss for this therapy session, questions to ask, and ideas to help improve your life. Who could even focus on this therapy session with the cute puppies, kittens and other animals around?]

[ooc: If anyone needs help or is looking for ask questions or anything, Parsnip linked this and it's pretty awesome! And if anyone needs to know about pet related things for this specific location to use as a reference, there's this modly post of awesome here.]
