[ Sup Marina. It seem Ashton is getting used to living here, but there are still some parts of daily life that he has to get adjusted to! So he is coming to you over this audio call with a very important request...

While still dressed in that godawful orange jumpsuit. Yes, he's been wearing it a few days now. No, it doesn't bother him, because he's certainly gone on longer without changing clothes. At least he bathed! He's not a barbarian. Wrong Class.

He also doesn't seem to be bothered by the fact that he's showing on the feed, dragon necks coming out of his back and all. ]
I never realized before how inconvenient it is to have just one outfit. A limited selection is fine for traveling, when carrying a light load is ideal. [ Quieter. ] Even then you really need to visit streams often or things are going to start smelling really bad...

[ Anyway... ]

But here? With these fancy machines making laundry a cinch, it would be nice to have some options.

I just, uh... that is. [ The young man clears his throat, and if you listen close, you can hear grumbling in the background. ] I would need some help from a tailor or two so that I can have some shirts that actually fit. I can tear and fix them on my own — I've got at least that much skill — but I want them to look like they were made for me!

My only problem is payment. I can't work my old job here. It is impossible to be a hired sword without swords! So... since there's no currency, you would have to let me know how I could make it up to you. I don't have a lot of other skills, but maybe we could come to some kind of arrangement? Thank you in advance for your consideration!

[ There is some kind of growling from one of the dragon heads. ] ——oh! Right! And my name is Ashton. Ashton Anchors. Please let me know as soon as you can if you can help me. [ The young man waves to the camera. ] Thank you!

((OOC: Changed up the post format from voice to video since it first went up. o/ ))

[Zatanna appears on screen looking slightly put out, but trying NOT to look slightly put out. She's half successful.]

You know, I'm not saying it's a bad thing that everyone's suddenly caught the exercise bug or whatever. Just that's it's way inconvenient when I go through all the trouble of getting up early in the morning to grab one of the gym treadmills, only to find they're already all taken.

[She blows a few stray hairs out of her face indignantly, before eventually just shrugging.]

I guess it's a good thing it's sunny out today. Any good jogging trails around here I should know about?

ACTION

[If you happen to be a fellow jogger that morning, you might catch sight of the 14-year-old as she makes her way around the dome at anywhere from a leisure to brisk pace. Robin Jr. could be seen racing her at times, when he's not vying for additional attention or stopping to sniff at everything he sees.]

[The video flickers on. Rogue is standing in what appears to be sector 0. There's a doorway in the barrier opening up and through it a small, metallic room can be seen. The video starts to shake a little as a robot, heavily damaged from something, emerges. There are deep gashes in the metal casing, but it's still chugging along slowly. Rogue peels off one of her gloves, uncertain if she's going to have to defend herself, or if her power would even work on a bot, but it's what she's got and this thing appears to have been in some sort of battle. She's not taking her chances. She backs away as the robot passes her without any acknowledgement.]

What the blue hell...

Private | Locked to Defense Force Members.

[She fiddles with the video some and locks it up to the Defense Force members. She's not on the Force, but it seems like the sort of thing they'd want to know about. She's following the bot, staying at a distance, but not letting it out of her sight. She's also getting the whole thing on video. When she speaks, it's a whisper. She doesn't want to draw any more attention to herself than necessary.]

I ain't sure what's goin' on but this thing just came outta a door in the barrier and it ain't doin' so well.

[Oh look, it's a Robin hanging out in the library. How unexpected.]

Acumen, noun: "the ability to make good judgements and quick decisions." Sentience, noun: "having the quality of being sentient." Conscienti, Latin: the root word of "conscientiousness." Veridical, adjective: "Truthfulness, seeing reality for what it is."

Has anyone else ever wondered about the wardens' names? I mean, whoever made these prisons could've named them Bob or Hal or anything else. It wouldn't make a difference in the end. But there's something about the wardens' names that makes me feel like maybe there's more to it. Hints about the wardens' programming? Their way of thinking? I can't put my finger on it but it feels important.

Speaking of important, am I the only one mildly alarmed by the loud scratching coming from that walled-off sector? Because it doesn't exactly sound like it's holding back an army of adorable, cuddly puppies.

[Private video + action for the Sector 4 patrol team]

Hey, guys. It's time for our first team meeting. I'll be at the Athletic Complex in Sector 1 in two hours; think you guys can be there by then?

[Whenever the team shows up, Robin will be there as promised! It looks like he's setting up for sparring but there's also a cluster of chairs-- so it'll be a meeting and a teambuilding exercise.]
