Things happened in half-time Who: Dierdre and Zaviar Where: Treble Clef When: 10:00 a.m. or thereabouts
Scarlet Oak and Ann Arbor were interesting places, which Zaviar had known before he moved there. Otherwise why would he have come? Other cities were larger with better appreciation of supernaturals, or more oppression, both of which he could work with. Several people questioned his choice of this location but they settled for the answer 'because I wanted to' easily enough. Some had even gone so far as to follow him, something that was appreciated because there was strength in numbers and it made gaining a feel for the area that much easier. Madeleine had been an unexpected surprised, but Antonin? Completely expected and extremely useful with his ability to delve into minds and pull out facts that perhaps they did not want share. Very difficult for supernaturals to stay in the closet around a telepath, was it not? And out supernaturals, that was what Zaviar needed. But he also needed people who were neck-deep in the political world or ones who had connections there that he currently lacked in the area. Back in England he had a few and he hoped they were continuing the work he had started, the same for further up north, but here was his job. And he was going to see it was taken care of.
Today that meant he was going to see if he could find the wife of a local politician and high-end lawyer, one Dierdre Summers. Supposedly she was nothing more than a regular woman married to a regular man, running her music store and giving out lessons or whatever it was. It was who she was married to that had Zaviar interested. Experience had shown him that it was easier to get closer to the ones who were not who were expecting you to try and use or turn to a cause. Therefore, the wife. While he could not say that he had been following her, he had hung around the Treble Clef a little every day until he established that usually she came in at least for awhile. Perhaps that had something to do with her husband? People with that sort of job tended to work a lot more than was healthy and likely did not spend enough time with their significant other. Which I could use. Potentially, after awhile. Not right away... it really depends on her personality, Zaviar told himself as he stepped into the music store for the first time. He had decided that he was going to act like he was looking for a gift for Madeline. If he happened to find something that would work as a gift then all the better, if not then hopefully Dierdre would still be there... ah, yes.
"Excuse me," Zaviar said in his smoothest tone, flashing the smile that only ever worked when he was trying. Hopefully his eyes were cooperating as well. It could be difficult for the were-snake to force emotion onto his face. "But I was wondering if you could help me? I'm looking for a gift for a musically-inclined friend. She's a music teacher and her birthday's coming up soon so... I just want to try and see what's out there and this seemed like a really good place to go. Highly recommended." A little flattery had never hurt anyone that he knew of. If anything it usually seemed to help.
