Tell me what did you expect?
Who: Charlene and Nixie
Where: Charlene's boat
When: Late evening
Charlene was very pleased with herself for having the nerve to go and talk with Roxy's parents. Sure she had no way of knowing yet whether it had actually been a good idea but it made her feel good to know that she had at least tried to make things better for Roxy. Everything she knew about the were told her that she would have done the same if the situation was flipped so it made sense. To her. Hopefully it would not be upsetting... eh, no use worrying. She had gone, come back and had her evening meal and now she was going to go back to her boat for a good rest. Humming a song that she had heard in one of those stores she had wandered through the mermaid was surprised when she swam in through the hole in the side and noticed a dark shape on the floor.
Another mermaid? Wait... dark gray... long brown hair... missing fingers... Charlene's heart skipped a beat and she put a hand to her mouth, bubbles of air escaping before she swam down the rest of the way and wrapped her arms around the sleeping mermaid. "Nixie!" she exclaimed, a whirl of emotions sweeping through her at seeing her sister. She did not even notice the bite marks on her neck, she was far too excited to have her sister there. She had not left! The hunter had not killed her! Everything was okay! The part where no it was not because Nixie and Roxy pretty much hated each other went right over her head. All that mattered was Nixie had not left her - or if she had she had come back! "You have no idea how happy I am to see you! I've missed you! Where did you go, why did you leave?" Charlene's tone became almost demanding at the end and she pulled back, though she was still clinging a little tightly to her sister. She may have wished that Nixie had not gone - having no idea of what had actually happened - but despite that she was beyond glad to see that she had returned.
Of course, as the initial excitement faded, Charlene remembered the last conversation she had had with Nixie and the smile faltered a little on her face. It had been a long time with all that happened and Nixie had missed so much... definitely things with Roxy... oh no, that's not going to go over all that well. And here Charlene had just gone to try and smooth things over with family members only to be presented with what could potentially be another one. For her. Stop that, this is a good thing! My sister's back and if I don't bring up bad things then she won't. "You missed this really crazy lady with a gun, she almost killed me! Roxy saved me." Good job. That took what, a minute?
