I'm Not Dead, Promise

Who: Tayne and Vanessa
Where: Phone-ness
When: Midday

Tayne basically rolled out of bed, grabbed coffee and his phone, waved to Krist, and hurried off to work. He'd gotten back home not long after six in the morning and, after he told Krist he'd talk to him that night, he showered off and crashed for a few hours. He couldn't miss work again.

But he did know he had a few messages to deal with. His phone had been blinking when he left it with Krist, even if he didn't have time to check them. But it wasn't exactly hard to guess who they were from-- after all, Krist had called her the day before, and he had been in danger last night. So it was probably Vanessa.

Once he got in at work and punched in, only a minute or two late, he begged a few minutes to use the office phone from Annie and disappeared into the office to call his sister.

You always pick up strays. )

Moonlit walks.

Who: Osiris and Angeline
When: Late evening and on
Where: The park

Hot sucked ass. Hot sucked so much ass that Osiris was seriously starting to wonder just how Scarlet Oak hadn't caved in on itself from all that sucking. It mostly sucked because his baggy pants with the chains were just too damn hot to wear so he was slumming it in a pair of khaki shorts and a black t-shirt. Damn the weather for screwing with his wardrobe. He ended up walking through the park after the sunset, hoping that it would get cooler soon. Finding himself a patch of grass beneath a tree, he settled himself down against the base of the trunk and watched the few passersby as they walked along the path. He was tempted to be a dick and turn cat, climb up the tree and wait to randomly pounce on someone unsuspectingly. Hell, he might even do it as a human. It would be twice as much fun and all the more hilarious to see their reactions.

The little news anchor in his brain was having a field day with the imagery. "In other news; teenager jumps from tree, shocks woman into coma, tonight at ten." A strange little smile curled across his lips as he continued to picture all that was sneak attacks, losing himself into his imagination.

We were elemental, talked down to bare essentials

Who: Fina and Sonny Gallo
Where: Fina's apartment
When: Evening
What: Sibling stuffs

She had a pretty good day. Work had been decent and she liked the woman she met at the florists. And apparently so did her bosses. Now, Fina was sitting in her favorite pair of shorts and her Bambi tank, hair piled in a messy knot on top of her head. Now it was time to just be. That photograph had been calling to her ever since she had seen it and she had popped in to see if it was still there after work. It was and it made her want it all the more. Her flip flops were on the floor in front of her favorite comfy chair and Remy was in her lap, her lyric notebook open on the side of the couch. She had written words on her lunch break and now she was trying to get chords, notes, something to play for the band.

What she needed was to write this and record it and she knew she would have a long night ahead of her. Her stomach rumbled but she ignored it, tapping out a beat on her guitar and then reaching for her music notebook as it lay on the coffee table to scratch down some more notes. "Would someone care to classify? A broken heart and some twisted minds so I can find someone to rely on and run to them, to them full speed ahead." Those were the words she was thinking of when she had come into her apartment that evening after work and she wasn't to rest until there was a guitar part to go with it. Or until there was a knock on the door which made her make a face. Who was bugging her tonight? There was no rehearsal and she didn't have plans. Tucking her feet into her flip flops, she made her way to her door to see who it was, seeing a mass of red hair on the other side of the peep hole. "God, Sonny, are you checking on me every night now?" she asked, voice dripping with sarcasm as she opened her door and arms to her big brother.

The horses are calling

Who: Sadie and Duncan
Where: The stables
When: 9pm

It was hard for Sadie to believe the sole reason for Duncan's frequent urge to ride a horse was that cars freaked him out. He'd lived through the entire perfecting of motor vehicles, what was there left to get about it? Still, as a good companion, she went with. Then again she enjoyed riding once in a while. But really if you took her car from her, you took a part of her with it.

She watched while he mounted, more distracted by her own thoughts than anything else, though any other time she would be watching his fine piece of ass stretching and moving and just...being. Right now, however, she was mostly bored. It was nothing she hadn't seen before.

When he was done, Sadie hopped on her own horse and thanked the Gods that she was good at this, otherwise this would be amusing. "Ready to go, oh mighty knight?" She asked while sighing.

Living in the past for a few hours

Who: Nastasiya and Sebastian
Where: Sebastian's jet and then the best swing dance club in LA
When: 12am Michigan time

It had taken Sebastian a while to tell her why she had to dress and look like a grown woman would have in the glorious 1940s. But after some time Nastasiya couldn't hold on any longer and really had to know. The vintage thing was vehemently in again, God knew how much she rolled her eyes at that tendency, thus she tried to avoid it like the plague. And now here she was, sitting in Sebastian's jet plane on her way to LA dressed like she would have back then if she weren't a minor throughout most of the decade. Still, at least now she knew where she was going.

"A swing dance club? Really? What's got into you?" She asked, though she couldn't hide the smile. It made for a different evening, even if she was still on Michigan time and it wasn't really evening per se anymore. She was a vampire, what did she care? Now she was excited, which was uncommon. "I haven't danced in years. Ages."

Fun fun fun

Who: Ryan and OPEN
Where: junkyard outside Scarlet Oak
When: Dusk

Target practice. That was something Ryan loved to do, but had absolutely no need to. He was good enough with guns, and really shooting the shit out of cars at the junkyard was hardly a way to improve shooting aim, which was the main purpose of target practice. Still. This was Ryan Byrne, a man who liked to shoot at random shit more than anything. People had their hobbies, this was his. And it was very damn lucky that there was a junkyard where he could do this. Otherwise he might start shooting in his own backyard, which would be much more dangerous.

Between shooting at stuff, catching fire to other stuff, and the radio on his own car blasting some good fucking music, Ryan was having the time of his life. Especially because it was double-pistol time and he loved to do that. The only thing he still had to perfect was perfect aim on both guns at the same time. Which he was trying to do now.

WHO: Gareth and OPEN
WHAT:Trying to shop. He hasn't lived in one place since he was a kid and doesn't know what a house-hold would require. He needs help figuring out what to buy desperately. Also, he can't read. So....
WHEN: Midmorning, around eleven AM? (Correct me if I'm wrong but it's June 17th in the game, right?)
WHERE: Scarlet Oak's Grocery Store. (Didn't see one on the area info page though, so maybe just Meijer?)

Gareth stared at the towels with a look of disgusted confusion. There were beach towels and bath towels and hand towels and a plethora of types of towels that he'd never heard of.  The entire aisle seemed to be a gauntlet of colors and he swallowed, hating them. Mauve, Sky Blue, Perriwinkle, Violet, Ebony Black...
"What the hell." He muttered unhappily, and reached up to scratch at the bite mark on his neck. It was healing-- but god damn did it itch. Like hell.  He, on the whole, looked unhealthy. His skin was pale-- too pale -- and he had dark circles under his eyes. His mouth set in a confused line as he grabbed one of the towels, looking at the tag. Made of 30% Rayon, 95% cotton-- tumble dry, machine wash with like colors it read. He struggled with the words for a long time, trying to make out the longer ones like machine and tumble. After a few moments he finally gave up, being able to only read the numbers and fabrics, but not the washing instructions. He turned away, glaring. Thirty plus ninety-five equaled a hundred and five. That math didn't even make sense. And what kind of towels did they even need back at the trailer? For the past thirty years he had been living from the back of his truck and cheap motels. He hadn't lived in anything like a house since the tender age of sixteen, and... huffing out his exasperation and confusion, he threw the towel back on to the shelf and simply moved over to the appliances aisle, looking for a toaster. Again he was encountered with too many models to choose from. Glancing at one, he noticed that it advertised that it could also prevent house-hold fires. It wasn't too hard for him to read that, prevent gave him a pause, but he was able to sound it out after a moment. A noise of exasperation passed his lips, a keening whine that was almost endearing in its helplessness. "Gawd damn! Don't they jus' have one that makes plain an' simple toast?!"

Need... COFFEE!

Who: Lia and Gregory
Where: Campus
What: The nectar of life... aka coffee
When: Before her class

It had been one of the longest mornings of her life. And it wasn't that Lia was complaining about what she had done. No, she didn't mind helping friends. But it had meant that she'd spent the night on a couch and that she had also spent some time in the company of a three year old that morning. While it kept her awake, she knew it would do nothing to keep her awake during class. It was bad form to fall asleep in the first class, especially since she had fought so hard to get into the class.

So she headed to the coffee shop on campus, one of the few places she'd scouted out when she had been on campus before. And she waited on line as patiently as one with a deep need for caffeine could wait on a line. The guy in front of her dropped a dollar as he stepped away from the counter and she picked it up. Tapping him on the shoulder, she held out the bill to him. "Excuse me, but I think you dropped this." She smiled kindly.

Time to warm the house!

Who: Louise and Kaye and open to Harrison, Annie, Isis and Niko, Hal and Fiona, Will and Tayne (plus anyone they might want to bring with them.)
Where: Their house on Dogwood Road.
When: 7PM onwards

With the house fully furnished and the three of them moved in without incident, when Louise had suggested a house-warming party Kaye had readily agreed and after seeing on the news that the missing teenagers had been found it seemed just another reason to celebrate. That had been just under three hours ago. Now with the food and drink laid out downstairs, her staring at the wardrobe in her underwear trying decide what to wear with guests due to arrive in about 10 minutes, she remembered with startling clarity just why she hated parties. "Is it too late to call it off?" she called though to the bathroom where Louise was doing her hair, hugging her arms around her as the nerves started to churn in her stomach.

Louise had been busy with a curling iron, doing her best to make her hair look like it had a nice wave to it, instead of the usually straight locks she sported. Dressed in a jeans pencil skirt and lavender blouse her make up was still on the counter, ready to be applied as a grin got onto her face. Putting the iron down the air elemental walked back into the bed room, cocking a brow. "I like you just like this- maybe you should stay up here that way I can come up whenever I'm bored," Louise offered with a little wink before going into the closet and pulling out a few things for Kaye to try on. "Your khaki trousers and my brown peasant top would look good," Lousie offered, unable to stop grinning. She loved dressing Kaye up, and when Kaye was actually willing to be dressed up it was even better.

In spite of the nerves, Kaye couldn't help but smile at Louise's comment and shook her head in amusement. "Pervert. And you should be careful about making a suggestion like that I might just take you up on it." Sliding in to the suggested trousers, Kaye pulled a face at the top - while Louise looked fantastic, she was doubtful it would look as good on her. Of course she was of the opinion that Louise always looked better regardless of what they were wearing, not that she was going to say that out loud. "I don't know about the brown hun," she replied doubtfully. "How about this?" she suggested holding up a sheer blue and white top that Louise had pulled out because talking about clothes was proving a pleasant distraction for the uncoming social activity.

We Clearly Need To Talk

Who: Hal and Fiona, open to Nikolai
Where: Hal's Kitchen
When: Morning

Hal had put the kettle on, since Fiona already had taken coffee and brekky to the loon in the cage. While she did drink bloody good coffee, he still preferred tea. And he was feeling better enough that he was fairly certain he could keep more than tea and soup down today. He wasn't bloody freezing for the first time in days. Which wasn't surprising, considering it was ridiculously warm outside. At least he could turn off the heat as well.

Picking up the morning paper, he was sad to see those children hadn't been found yet. Hopefully, they'd be getting a psychic of some sort to help them look. One good thing about this Light of May business. Other methods could be used to do things openly and hopefully save some bloody lives.

He sat down at the table, opening the paper as he waited for Fiona to returned from taking food to their unexpected guest. He'd give her another five minutes, then he was coming after her. If that bastard tried again, he wasn't reversing his spell this time, no matter the effect.

Play With Me

Who: Squid and Justin
Where: Local lakefront area
When: 10am ish
Moar: NSFW

It was too hot to be out of the water, so Squid wasn't. Luckily, a good deal of the human population of the area had decided the lake was a good place to beat the heat and so there were at least some people around to play with.

He paused in the shallow end and let the little girl who he'd been giving a ride to off of his back. As little as he liked merbabies, human children were fun. They were curious, asked funny questions and weren't afraid of him after the initial shyness. And as prey went, they were pathetically easy, which made them no fun at all. Maybe if he were starving, but really, they weren't all that appetizing. Nothing to them. He preferred bigger prey he could enjoy more.

Her mother rushed forward, grabbing the little girl. Apparently, his reassuring smile didn't, because she looked even more frightened when he grinned at her. He wouldn't have eaten her anyway. From how puffy her lips were and how stretchy her face was, she was probably more plastic and snake poison than flesh. Humans did the stupidest things to themselves, he swore.

Flipping back onto his back, he tucked his hands under his head and lazily swam out to deeper water. One thing he had to give the light of May thing. It was nice to be able to hang around in his merform. He could talk and at worst, some idiot threw something at him. Which had missed him by a mile and set a bunch of people on the beach on the idiot. Supernatural rights and all.

That reminded him of the before time when he'd picked up his name. The civil rights movement, he'd heard over and over. Which basically seemed to consist of more willing females and males, stuff to inhale that made his head feel funny, booze and well, good times overall.

He sort of missed that, really.

Up in the morning and out to school, the teacher is teaching the Golden Rule

Who: Sloane and Will
When: Noon
Where: Staff room of Scarlet Oak High School

The first day back to school, whether it was summer or fall, was always Sloane's favourite. Maybe not when she was younger, but now that she was the teacher it was much more enjoyable. She practically skipped from her car to the school in the morning and bounced around the halls greeting familiar faces.

Her mood didn't change much by the time lunch rolled around. Sloane grabbed her lunch from the fridge with a huge smile still stuck on her face. She knew soon she'd be stressed about grading and so she enjoyed the feeling while it lasted.

How to avoid castration - lesson 1

Who: Isis and Drago
When: Just before four PM
Where: Isis's home

Drago had meant to go straight to Isis's house after speaking with Seth, but he had to first get up the nerve to do so. He was certain that whatever this girl knew about him couldn't be anything good and he was honestly scared shitless of meeting with her. But if he had any intentions of closing the rift that had formed between himself and Seth, he had to suck it up and grow a pair.

He ended up on the girl's doorstep and checking his watch let him know the time, barely five minutes before four. Maybe he'd get lucky and she'd be out working or with friends or something and he could have an excuse for why he had to come back at a later time. Knowing his luck though, he doubted it. Lifting a hand, he knocked lightly on the door.
