We were elemental, talked down to bare essentials
Who: Fina and Sonny Gallo
Where: Fina's apartment
When: Evening
What: Sibling stuffs

She had a pretty good day. Work had been decent and she liked the woman she met at the florists. And apparently so did her bosses. Now, Fina was sitting in her favorite pair of shorts and her Bambi tank, hair piled in a messy knot on top of her head. Now it was time to just be. That photograph had been calling to her ever since she had seen it and she had popped in to see if it was still there after work. It was and it made her want it all the more. Her flip flops were on the floor in front of her favorite comfy chair and Remy was in her lap, her lyric notebook open on the side of the couch. She had written words on her lunch break and now she was trying to get chords, notes, something to play for the band.

What she needed was to write this and record it and she knew she would have a long night ahead of her. Her stomach rumbled but she ignored it, tapping out a beat on her guitar and then reaching for her music notebook as it lay on the coffee table to scratch down some more notes. "Would someone care to classify? A broken heart and some twisted minds so I can find someone to rely on and run to them, to them full speed ahead." Those were the words she was thinking of when she had come into her apartment that evening after work and she wasn't to rest until there was a guitar part to go with it. Or until there was a knock on the door which made her make a face. Who was bugging her tonight? There was no rehearsal and she didn't have plans. Tucking her feet into her flip flops, she made her way to her door to see who it was, seeing a mass of red hair on the other side of the peep hole. "God, Sonny, are you checking on me every night now?" she asked, voice dripping with sarcasm as she opened her door and arms to her big brother.

After a long, long shift at Sunny's (having been there since five in the A.M.) and a nice, long shower, Sonny decided that visiting his itty-bitty-baby-sister was in order. It'd only been a few days since he'd seen her, and really, going too long meant she was up to trouble or in some irreversible shenanigan that he'd have to fix anyway, so, why not jump the gun? So, instead of awaiting his sisters soon-to-be-sent (he assumed, of course) distress single, Sonny swiveled onto his bicycle, locked on his helmet, made sure the food he'd made in his apartment was neatly sitting in his bag (yes, of course he'd left some for his roommates/brother, he wasn't a sister-only-doting mongrel) then darted off. Easily veining, street by street, he arrived at the Court, his bicycle chain still swinging from his handlebars as he halted.

A quick re-chaining to the bike-rack, admiring what he assumed to be one of Fi's neighbor's motorcycle, Sonny pulled off his helmet and charged into the building, the scent of his special chili-smothered-mozzarella-cheese-bacon-bit-sour-cream-covered fries wafting behind him. And all right, he may have made some garlic bread with medium-done steak tips glued on with some of his own special blend of garlic sauce and Parmesan cheese, but come on, it was his sister for chrissakes. He, of course, was full, and uncaring of what was sitting in his bag, and instead he jumped up the steps taking them two at a time and wrapped neatly on her door.

Click, latch open, door swing and suddenly he was hugging his sister, a laugh on his lips. "Of course, what else are over-protective brothers for? And before you complain," he pushed his way into her apartment, closing and locking her door for safe-keeping behind him; "I come baring food." Delving into his messenger bag and pulling out the two containers housing the delicious treats he'd provided her. Upon handing them over, he kicked off his Chucks and sank into his couch, leaning back against the cushions.

"By the way, I'm crashing. So ha."

It annoyed her that he didn't let her lock up herself. It wasn't that she was going to leave her door open and lay on on the couch as an open invitation to rapists and thieves and possible murderers. And she totally would have complained until there was food. "Mmm, good because I'm starving." Fina took the containers and moved into the kitchen to get some utensils. Plates were not needed, of course, because there were tupperware and she was starving. Her stomach rumbled again, knowing food was coming.

"Is this a bribe for the crashing then?" she teased, moving to rest Remy on his case and closing her notebooks before curling back up in her chair to inject the heavenly delights her brother had cooked up. He always had the best cheese fries because he put like a whole dinner on top of them. Not that she was complaining one bit.

Balancing her food on her knees, she nodded towards the notebook. "If you're going to stay, read the two new songs I've been working on. One's completely done and the other one I'm still trying to write the music to."

Sonny had an obsession with making sure his little sister was protected. Generally he could care less if his apartment was locked, but it was a room full of dudes who often forgot whose deodorant they were using and whether or not it was Tuesday. This was Fi, this was his sister, this was the one person who he would (okay, so his entire did fit into this category) do anything for; if it meant locking the door behind him, he'd do it.

"What have I told you about leaving your door unlocked? I could've sneaked in and eaten you if I were... y'know, into that or something." He paused, following the radical ludicrous procession of his statement with his eyes as the words fell from his mouth in a swoop of nonsense and overprotective older-brother-bullshit, then snapped his trap shut. So much for validity in being obnoxious.

Her obsession with his cooking seemed to be a delicate segue into something less Sonny-esque and he nuzzled further into her couch cushions, his hair littering the couch like a fan. "I don't need to bribe my itty-bitty-bratty-sis to crash on her couch." Peaking through the slits of his eyelids he was wary of his sister wielding some kind of instrument of obstruction to his head and instinctively put his hands on either side of his skull for protection. Peering enough to see her munching away pleasantly, he reached for the notebook, nodding his reply instead of speaking.

Lyrics were good, per usual, and the notes started to plunk around in his head. Generally whenever he would crash at Fi's, sleep was inevitably null and void. Most of the time was spent harmonizing to new lyrics she wrote down and that was another reason he loved being around her; both being fire elements helped ignite their passion and creativity, and they fed off each other until a studio-worthy song was noted and placed into existence.

"These are seriously great, Fi." A toothy grin accompanied his compliment.

Fina rolled her eyes. "I lock my door, thank you very much." She took a huge bite of food that immediately made her feel better and push the thoughts of annoyance away from her mind. He was, after all, her brother. It was just the way it was. He was always a pain in her butt.

"Lies. Heinous lies!" she declared, taking another bite. She saw the way he cowered, protecting his head. Fina shook her own as she sat there. If it was a bribe, he was doing very well. She always loved when he cooked. She took a bit of the tidbits he'd made and bit into them, more hungry than she'd first realized.

"Really? Sweet. I've got another rolling around in my head, but we'll see what happens with that one."
