Who: Jackson and Nicci
When: Afternoon
Where: Streets of S.O.
Nicci always had mixed feelings about the full moons ever since her brother had taken over. Any other day of the month and she was used to his status as alpha (albeit still silently displeased a lot of the time). The full moons were different, as they’d only had a few of those so far. Rationally she could see that, as far as the full moon went, it was the one time when absolutely nothing had changed.
Rationality and Nicci were very rarely on speaking terms.
She was itching for a good run though, and determined to be positive about it all. She’d spent the day mentally preparing herself, but the hours ticked by slowly. Finally she got Minibar’s leash and decided to take the little MaltiPoo for a good, long walk. She always left Mini in Fluffy’s care on the night of the full moon, and she liked to try and tire her out beforehand so she wouldn’t be any trouble. She was such a little thing that she could hardly ever be classified as trouble anyway, but she was the closest thing to a baby Nicci was likely to ever have and to say she was overprotective of the puppy was… a bit of an understatement.
The pre-moon walk was a pretty regular routine, and Mini usually knew what it meant. Most of the time Nicci just carried her around. Mini’s mood was a mix of excitement at the walk, and anxiety at knowing she was going to be left for the night. The puppy shot Nicci a mournful gaze as she sniffed around a tree. “Don’t look at me like that, baby,” Nicci cooed. “I can’t take you with me. No, I can’t! The big bad wolvies would just gobble you up whole. Yes, they would. Yes, they would! Coz you is just a wittle-“ Wait. What was that? A breeze blew by and Nicci realized she was downwind from an unfamiliar wolf. That made
two werewolves she didn’t know in
her territory in less than thirty days. “Hmph.” Nicci had to fight the burning desire to mark the tree right along next to Minibar. Immediately she surveyed the street north of her, trying to figure out who was the mystery wolf.
