a series of firsts

Who: Lex and Domina (and some NPC goodness of Hades the familiar)
When: Early evening
Where: Ad Gustum

Domina was roused back to a state of consciousness, lying naked, bleeding, and broken in the park, with an ambulance on its way. Her brain hadn't really woken up yet; she felt woozy and confused, and a lot like she'd just want to go back to sleep, but she knew one thing. She was not going to a hospital. She'd done what her mother had told her, and she was done. End of story. She wasn't going to the hospital, and she wasn't going to have her wounds and weaknesses paraded about any more than they already had been. That decided, she shifted into her hawk form.

A born were, shifting had never been a painful experience for Domina. It had always been effortless; a happy, comfortable experience. This shift wasn't. It was just as excruciating as when her wing had been broken in the first place. She'd never had a bad injury in her life, but her mother had told her once that shifting accelerated the growth process - and that rapid, continuous shifting, along with avoiding the initially-injured form for a while, was even better. So that was what she did. She shifted back and forth between human and hawk, ignoring the baffled expressions and comments of the passer-bys that had come to her aid, and when it finally felt like she had the strength to fly again, she took off immediately.

Her destination was not her home, but the house next-door - Ad Gustum. Her mother had told her to come straight home (if able), but right now, Domina could really give a flying fuck (no pun intended) what her mother wanted. She'd left her office window open, and after flying inside, she shifted back to human form and all but collapsed on the floor. She was in a world of pain, and she'd lost so much blood.

In which Lex bleeds, and Domina trips balls. )

Travel Weary

Who: Margaret and wide OPEN
When: Early Evening, June 29th
Where: The Mudhouse

Once her mind was set on Scarlet Oak it was only a matter of securing tickets for travel and packing her things once more. She'd quickly grown accustomed to living out of suitcases; it wasn't a big production to pack it all in again.

She wanted to take the train. Heaven forbid there wasn't a train running anywhere near Scarlet Oak. She still hadn't adjusted to driving on the other side of the road and didn't trust herself alone in a car on the long trip from Buffalo, New York. She was left to the bus, a slightly cheaper version of a Greyhound. She wasn't entirely opposed to lengthy travels; international flights were practically endless. This bus business however was for the birds.

Fourteen hours in an uncomfortable chair with a snoring seatmate. )

We'll Never Fade Away

Who: Cameron, anyone who might be gather to listen to him speak or talk to him after (you know you want to)
When: Around 5:00 p.m.
Where: In front of Town Hall

It was very carefully set up; from various people placed in the crowd to keep things under control and going the right way to "impromptu" flyers stuck up all over Scarlet Oak. Everything that Cameron did was set up that way, results of having been raised by the Calverts and groomed to take over the family business eventually. With Amanda naturally, couldn't be a Calvert without a Blake. Even if this time around she'll have my last name too. No, not thinking about that. Gotta concentrate. Anyhow, carefully set up, Cameron liked to think about all of this before he stepped up to the spotlight. He'd put word out to hunters for reasons extending past just scouring supernaturals. Someone needed to be out there in the crowd to make sure that someone didn't freak out and try to kill him. Which would just prove my point if they did. He was also aware of that. He hadn't explained that part to Amanda, however. Some things were better left unsaid.

Taking a long drink of water, Cameron smiled at the people who had come with him. "Oh don't look so nervous, we're not doing anything illegal. Freedom to assemble, freedom to speak... you all know these things. Relax." He waited until the tension eased a little before walking out to stand on the steps of the town hall. There was no stand because there weren't any notes. He didn't need any of those for something like this. This was something he actually believed in and there was really no preparing past thinking it all out. His father'd never approve of a lack of notes.

I'm not a witch, a were, a psychic, an elemental... )

WHERE: We'll figure that out eventually.

Maybe that was just the over confidence, maybe that was just her youth showing, or maybe, just maybe it was that forever kind of love, who was to say? )
