I suppose I should introduce myself.

My name is Dr. Helen Magnus. I'm afraid this isn't exactly where I'd expected to find myself, but it seems that's true for many of us.

Of all the places I've been in my lifetime, I can't say that space is one of them. It's remarkable, isn't it?

The Enterprise is currently en route to Earth. The Enterprise will dock at the Utopia Planetia Shipyards at Mars to undergo repairs following last week’s collision with an unidentified object. This shore leave opportunity will last 17 days. Estimated arrival date and time is 226405.20 at 2300.

I suppose I'll finally get to see this Earth everyone's talked about. And it'll be nice to have feet on solid ground for a while as well.

As I'm sure everyone heard this morning, we will be visiting Earth soon. Since I know many of you come from various times but also from there, I've taken the liberty to begin making plans with Starfleet for excursions for any traveler who wishes to see more than San Francisco, which is where Starfleet HQ is. I'm not certain right now what sort of excursions they will be, but I'll do my best to keep you updated.

Ah, shore leave. And earth at that!

I remembered the most wonderful thing—I have an apartment in San Francisco!

I really hope I didn't leave any food in the house.

Anyway, that's where I'll be most of the time. If someone wants extended time in San Francisco, I do have a spare room and can authorize overnight stays with the Captain's prior approval. But I also won't be a revolving hotel.

I saw that you mentioned your ranch in the Mojave. Might that be a place we would be allowed to go? I would love to see it.

So we're going to Earth. I'm curious to see what it looks like in the 23rd century and it's been a long time since I've been to San Francisco so this sounds like fun.
