Hi.

I'm afraid I didn't make a very good impression last time around. Can I start over?

My name's Five. Well, that isn't my name, but it's what everyone calls me. I don't know what my parents named me, but I've gone by Cody on Earth.

I was born on the planet Lorien. It was destroyed when I was four years old and we came to Earth as refugees. Our enemies followed us. In my world, there's just been a huge war on Earth and while we won, we lost a lot of people too.

I've done some bad things. It's true. I know it. And it doesn't always feel good. But I have a second chance here, so I'd like to do something to help.

I have some abilities that might be useful? I can fly, high and fast. I'm telekinetic. And I can change my skin into any material I'm touching - metal, wood, whatever.

Is there any type of employment around here that I could do? I've never really done a lot of work before, but I'm willing to try at least.

I may have only been here a few hours, but the future is a beautiful place.

Right then. Just so there's no misunderstandings. The only person allowed to play music in Engineering, is Jaylah. She earnt that right. Even if it does give me a splitting headaches every now and then.

Anyone else gets it turned off and is kicked out. This is your only warning.

It has been brought to my attention that there are now travelers living upon the Enterprise, a redundancy as I was already aware. It was also suggested that I introduce myself, although I was unable to ascertain the purpose that would serve. Nevertheless I am Spock, First Officer and Chief of Sciences.

It has also been made clear that this situation is unlikely to change in the near future and so I would ask that efforts are made to follow protocol aboard this starship on which you now reside.

Kirk

Captain, I am uncertain if this introductory post contains a warm and welcoming attitude as suggested in our meeting at Headquarters, but I do trust that it is sufficient?

I'm getting about tired of being pulled through time without warning, but I guess in this case, it was at least pretty good timing. Malcolm? They said you were here. Looks like it's just us.

Oh, right, suppose I should introduce myself. Commander Charles Tucker III. That's a hell of a mouthful, I know. You can call me Trip. Most everyone does.

In case you see General Organa on the crew quarters level, there is no need to be alarmed or call for security.

[Jim]
It's not a problem to get her security access to my quarters, is it?

It seems as though I am to join you on the Enterprise. I am Jaylah.

[Scotty]
I am to be in Engineering with you. This home is much newer than my old one. Are you on the beach with Jim and the others?

Since apparently there's propaganda out there for all to pretend they're some kind of authority for the world I have lived on for millennia, and demand from those of you who know better, which in this case means less, I'll elaborate.

Gallifrey is a planet in another galaxy, free from the constraints of Time.

It is known as the Shining World of the Seven Systems by the more poetic of our number, which, you may have gathered, I am not among.

The primary city is known only as the Capitol. Perhaps it had some other name when it was initially founded - well before your sun could be called a star. Not much is known about the early times of Gallifrey - known, 'imaginatively', as 'The Dark Times'. But we know that it was controlled by the Pythia - a matriarchy that controlled its populace by holding science hostage, rebranding it as 'magic' that could only be mastered by the Sisterhood.

Then Rassilon, Omega and the Other came along to break the code of silence and engineer time travel and Time Lords, setting down the Laws of Time. The details are sketchy and up for debate, but we know eventually Rassilon turned tyrant, Omega got himself trapped in an antimatter universe and the Other committed suicide into the looms. I don't want to get into looms, but sufficed to say it's likely my entire people contain some element of the Other in their DNA as a result.

The legacy of this era is impossible to exaggerate to our world. We still quote the laws, have the relics and quote Rassilon in every coronation of president and we still answer to what they've done, millennia later. Rassilon and Omega have turned up in person, which brings a whole new meaning to 'outstaying their welcome'.

The organisation I work for, the Celestial Intervention Agency or CIA, was founded in these times and we're tasked to defend and tend to the Web of Time, removing paradoxes and representing Gallifrey's interests. Even though I'm here, my primary loyalty remains with Gallifrey and always will.

Not everyone on Gallifrey becomes a Time Lord. I suppose it's a kind of class system, Time Lords are tasked with more global issues. You are required to study for over a century at least, if not longer, depending on your desired course. Aliens have become Time Lords, humans included. When you live among us, your aging process has been slowed long enough to enable you to complete the course and do something other than promptly die of old age.

It's not something I've been entirely comfortable with, new as it has been in my time, but the results have been... adequate, if occasionally explosive.

I suppose I'll answer questions, assuming you're not about to be as idiotic about it as you were on my last message.

This planet is beautiful.

And I have to admit, not being reviled for how I look is refreshing

This extended time on Earth has been amazing. I'm sorry that it happened at the expense of the ship getting damaged but it's made it possible for me to spend some extended time with Demora. I'll take that any way I can get it.

This does appear to be a most unusual situation. While it will take some getting used to, I believe the experience may be a good one.

I'm Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise, and I am a Starfleet Captain in my own time, which is not this time, but it seems that is fairly common around here.

[Starfleet Command Officers]
I will likely need some time to orient myself to this situation, but I would like to offer my expertise, and my willingness to serve on this ship in whatever way might be most beneficial for Starfleet.

Does anyone who's actually from this place and time know anything about the laws regarding magic on earth these days? Because I've appreciated not having to hide it here but I don't want to end up being burned at the stake when we land.

And are the chances of seeing a quodpot game pretty slim?

It's going to be mental, being on earth in the future, isn't it? Too bad we can't go to England.

Uh is there somewhere for Sven to graze? See he's a reindeer and I don't see any grass.
