Ship's Log | To Boldly Go

Well, This is certainly an interesting turn of events. I've often said we end up exactly where we need to be. Although I didn't expect to end up here, it's not my first starship, so parts of it is familiar, but I look forward to getting to know all of you.

I'm Shepherd Book and before this, I was many things, including a preacher and a counselor.

The computer's voice is really very lovely. Do we know who she's based on, if she's based on anyone? The Machine I worked on had a voice generated by whatever sounds she could find on the internet. That is, until she told me she was taking my own.

It was such a lovely note to die on.

Anyone else ever been so unused to having enough down-time to think about their own birthday until it's passed?

'Cause I did that. Just hit me it's the end of April and I turned thirty-two? thirty-three earlier in the month.

Guess I wasn't completely sure I'd see another birthday.

If either of you are wondering where I've been since yesterday, allow me to clarify that I've finished an experiment.

And discovered that one and a half bottles of this Klingon Wine is my limit.

I'm having nightmares.

I wonder what happens when we end up going back. Is it like we never left? Do we get to choose, or does it just randomly happen? Maker, I hope it doesn't happen to me. I miss the crew but that'd be about the only reason to return.
