Ship's Log | To Boldly Go

I have to say that being on this ship still feels like it's out of a story and I can do magic.

I know it's been an intense day for you, Melinda and Angie. I hope the two of you won't have much trouble settling in. Melinda and I already talked bout this, and I wanted to bring it to the rest of the group. Since we're all going to be living together, I thought it'd be a good idea for us to get together. Maybe go out for a drink and talk about our habits/expectations/etc.? I've done the whole dormitory living before, so it's probably for the best that we all try to get to know each other.

When I was a kid I used to dream about waking up somewhere that wasn't boring old New Jersey, but I always thought it'd be somewhere like Los Angeles or the French Riviera, and there would be a rich man who'd want to take me shopping and buy me all the shoes I could ever want. Of course, he'd want to marry me and he'd also be a prince and we'd live happily ever after. Instead I wake up on a spaceship that's going around a planet that's nothing but a desert, in the future. This isn't how I wanted to get out of working today, I promise.

I'm also lost. Someone took me to my new apartment -- quarters?-- and I took a walk with my book thing and now I can't find anything. Help?
