Great so does this mean we can go back to work without our heads exploding? I'm behind on everything now.

If this is supposed to be the afterlife, I think my people might have been a little less afraid of dying.

Some of the holidays you celebrate this time of year reminds me a lot of Winter Veil. It's a Dwarvish holiday adopted by the Alliance, and the Tauren introduced their own version to the Horde.

Santa Clause is very much like the Greatfather Winter.

After surfing, kayaking, going to the spa, eating way too much food, dancing at a nightclub and lying on the beach for hours on end, I think I'm finally relaxed enough to tackle Galartha. Would anyone like to join me?

I don't know if you'd be interested but did you want to get a coffee? I would be interested in learning more about the work you did back home.

All right, all right.

Birthdays. Everyone's got one. Leave your birthday here so I can keep a running tab. And yes, I know I can look at my PADD and everything, but this will be faster.

ALSO I know that some of you might not have birthdays that follow the normal calendar? Or, you know, the calendar we all go by? The Federation one? I don't know. It's mostly the same as the one I know only with just numbers and such instead of months but ANYway.

Basically, if you don't know how to match up your birthday (or don't know your birthday?) with the calendar we all use, maybe now's the time to pic a birthday??

Hello

[info]napithechief
[info]shipslog
I was told to introduce myself to the ship at wide using this device. So Hello, you may call me Chief. It's technically a nickname, as my true name is actually Napi. I'm a big fan of tricks and stories, being the Blackfoot trickster and storytelling demigod. I am a member of the Blackfoot Native American tribal Nation. I appear about 39 years old, though I am much older than that. I am originally from the traditional Blackfoot lands along the Alberta/Montana border but recently I had been moving around as I felt it necessary before I was brought here. Recently, in this case, essentially meaning since the second World War ended.

I do not have any family on this ship to be notified about or who will be notified about my arrival, but if you wish to become a friend, I would welcome new friends. Friendship is always good.

Я наслаждался языковой группы. Это замечательная идея и спасибо за его организацию.

Если вы еще не приехать, я очень рекомендую его.

Jack
Sam thinks I should join the Morale team. What do you think? Also how are you settling in?

Hoshi
Hey. Did you want to grab a drink or something?

I don't remember saying "beam me up, Scotty" today. And yet here I am.

More surprising is the fact that getting beamed anywhere didn't include the Asgard. Not really used to that.

So, uh, hi. I'm Jack. I lead Homeworld Command back on Earth. The Air Force gave me a lot of stars to prove it. This looks like a fine vacation.

I promised Katie and Alicia that I'd ask again, so here it is: anyone on the ship interested in learning to play quidditch? It's the popular sport in my world and we've got the necessary equipment to play and several people that can teach anyone who wants to learn. The conditions are that you can't be afraid of heights, you have to have reasonably good balance to stay on your broom, and understand that you might get hurt while playing. It's bloody good fun but it's also dangerous, and I don't want anyone to decide to do this without being very clear about the risks.

Of course, we have a good Medical team that can patch you up if you do get hurt.

I suppose we can do a demonstration of sorts if anyone wanted to see what it's like. It won't be a proper game, we would need seven per side for that, but you could get a general idea.

After seeing Leia's questions on who speaks what language and the general theme of speaking more language how would anyone feel about a weekly language meet up? Maybe over dinner with themes of the language?

I don't know if anyone would be interested in that, but I think it could be fun. Or if someone has already suggested it and I missed it, point me to it.

I'd like to know what languages everyone speaks, if you don't mind.

Here are the ones I'm fluent in: Basic (which I believe is Federation Standard here), Alderaanian, Corellian, Huttese, can understand Shyriiwook, and various others as well.

ALL Star Wars

I've recently been spending some time in the holodeck, working on a program that's very dear to me. If you have any interest in a short tour of a small area Alderaan, though it's not one hundred percent accurate, please let me know.

The pod racing was almost as intense as the Hebridian race a few years ago. Although, this time it was a little less sabotage and local government issues and cheating.

Wish there was time to do it again.

I'm really enjoying this opportunity to explore the planet. There's so many interesting things to learn that it's hard to know where to start.

In other news I've been accepted to train in Communications on board the ship which shall be fascinating. I'm looking forward to starting.

Hoshi
When the storm is over did you want to come explore the planet with me?

Sam
Hey, you want to come planetside with me at some point?

The Fornaxians don't seem to have much in the way of collected history. They're a nomadic people and don't have a concept of museums, nor do they have many ruins to study their ancestors. But I did find an elder who has been attempting to preserve many of their oral histories, traditions and stories. They have good memories, and I'm told the stories are relatively unchanged through time.

She told me several, and granted me permission to record them, and keep copies for both myself and to give to Starfleet.

Many of the stories are folklore, which are interesting in and of themselves, but there's one about a woman's ingenuity I find particularly interesting. The story is beautifully told, but I'll rephrase it for brevity's sake. The full tale is logged into the ship's computer for anyone interested. I really recommend it.

Cut for length )
