Ship's Log | To Boldly Go

I apologize for not making my introduction sooner, but this situation was unexpected and took me by surprise. I needed some time to get my bearings.

My name is Gaeriel Captison, and I am a member of the Bakuran Senate — though, given the nature of our shared circumstance, I doubt that means anything to anyone. I've never heard of a planet called Earth or a Federation that's not controlled by greedy, power-hungry Neimoidians, but I am eager to learn more about them both.

I am quite curious to see Earth, even if we only get to see a small portion of it. As I understand it, the planet has many different ecosystems, whereas most of our planets each had a single ecosystem. The diversity should prove to be very interesting.

Since introducing ourselves seems to be the in thing right now, I'm going to hop on the bandwagon. I'm Kitty Pryde, and this is definitely not my first rodeo in space or getting tangled up in alternate universes. Or even my third rodeo.

I've never actually been to a rodeo.

Honestly I'm just glad to get away from the crap back home for awhile.

I'm a Mutant, which is a genetic offshoot of humanity thanks to a new gene that gives us super powers. It's a big deal back home since everyone wants to kill us, oppress us or make us go away. It's a virtual party.

I'm also a Capricorn, Jewish, and really good at mixing a drink.

... So when can I look at the warp drive?

So, I know a beach wedding isn't super doable on a starship, but what do you guys do for weddings here?

I have been told that this device will be the best way in communicating to the crew, as well as to the other members trapped against their will aboard this vessel.

I suppose it would be best to get the introductions out of the way: I am Darth Vader, former Supreme Fleet Commander of the Empire.

It would be best served that I immediately communicate with the Captain of this vessel.

Tahiri's already filled me in on a few things, such as the fact that I'm late, and also that this is a way to introduce myself to everyone.

So, I guess here goes. I'm Anakin Solo. You may know some of my family as it seems some of them have been here for a bit.

This is a bit different than some of the ships I've been on, but I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning more about this place. And maybe figuring out some place I can help cause I'm not very good at sitting on my hands for very long. Is there anyplace that would be able to tell me what sorts of things can be done?

Hi, I'm Jaina Solo and I've been here for a few days but I keep forgetting to post anything. If anyone should happen to see an orange tabby cat running around, she belongs to me. Or I belong to her, I'm not sure how that works. We've had the discussion about her stayng in my room and so far so good but there's always that chance.

Your new roommate seems extremely high strung. Are you sure you know what you're getting into there? It's... adorable.

I know that just because I can fly just about anything back home, it doesn't mean the ships here have the same type of controls or whatever...but still, I got mixed feelings about going back into training.

Well, I should learn fast, at least. And at least I can still do what I do best back home...

All right, a few housekeeping things. I shouldn't even be taking care of this, but here I am.

I realize that for many of you this is a vacation or something similar, and that's all well and good. But for most of us, we're still working and this ship has still got its mission.

Which means that on the topic of quarters assignments, we're following Starfleet regulation. If you're married or in a committed domestic partnership (whatever it is that your culture calls it; the Federation is, after all, made up of hundreds of planets with varying cultures, races, creeds, religions) that has been legally sanctioned (either here by Starfleet and the Federation or where you came from), then we'll be able to accommodate moving quarters assignments.

But what that means is, we're not just going to start moving people around because you feel like it. Take it from me, living with someone else is hard. Living with someone you're sleeping with? Harder.

I'm sure this means you'll have a lot of questions, so go ahead. I've got the rest of the afternoon off.

I'd like to invite everyone to an afternoon tea that I am hosting on Monday in the Downton simulation of the holodeck. We will have Earl Grey, English Breakfast and Darjeeling, as well as finger sandwiches, scones and other pastries. I look forward to being able to show everyone the simulation of my ancestral home.

I wanted to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude to the Traveler Liaison Staff and the Crew aboard this intrepid vessel, for taking on the burden of caring for us all.

I understand that this ship is the only one in the Fleet currently plagued with so many refugees from different times and places. What you are doing for us all is incredible, and I am glad to be aboard. Though I doubt any of you will be requiring the services of a diplomat or Senator any time soon, I hope to make my time here useful... somehow.

And... hello to everyone else. I'm Padme Amidala--, and yesterday was quite a lot to take in. But I hope to make at least a few friends here. We all at least have one common bond, which is big enough that we might build on it.
