Ship's Log | To Boldly Go

I've been on this ship for almost 5 months.

That feels weird to think about, but I guess it's kind of awesome, too. Life is totally different here, but mostly it's pretty great.

It's been a long time since I didn't fall asleep to the sound of waves. I'm not sure what I'm going to miss more: that or my bike.

Well, this is not where I expected to wake up this morning. Apparently, you can leave and come back.

Some of you may remember me when I was still dark haired—feels like it's been lifetime since I was her. So much has changed.

I'm actually, genuinely, glad to be here. I need some time away from my friends and my work to figure out who I am now. What better place for that than a starship full of dozens of other people just as out of place as I am?

If you remember me from before, I prefer the name Frost for now, though I won't flip out if you call me Caitlin.

I've been having a very good time seeing what Earth looks like in the future. It's definitely cleaner than I remember. I passed up the trip to Alcatraz though. Prison islands just aren't the same when you've lived on one.

So we're going to Earth. I'm curious to see what it looks like in the 23rd century and it's been a long time since I've been to San Francisco so this sounds like fun.

As I'm sure everyone heard this morning, we will be visiting Earth soon. Since I know many of you come from various times but also from there, I've taken the liberty to begin making plans with Starfleet for excursions for any traveler who wishes to see more than San Francisco, which is where Starfleet HQ is. I'm not certain right now what sort of excursions they will be, but I'll do my best to keep you updated.

Wow. Wow. I still feel like this has to be a really freaky dream, but okay, here goes.

My name is Rose Hathaway and I have already learned a few awesome things about space:

~ the drinking age is apparently 18
~ the view is amazing
~ I'm claustrophobic now. Neat.
~ Technology has really come a long way from 2010
~ Being kidnapped by a nebula or whatever is actually fun, who knew.
