I'm bored.

The holodeck is awesome, but I don't get enough time there. My Sub-Etha connection isn't working and your collection of holovids is pitiful. If I'm stuck here the least you could all do is entertain me.

And no, I'm not interested in studying all your stupid planets. There's no point. Most of them probably don't exist where I'm from. And apparently I'm not allowed to 'lurk around Engineering' either. I was just exploring!

OH MY GOSH I MISSED MY BIRTHDAY It was almost a month ago! How did that happen? It's so easy to lose track of the days aboard this ship.

Okay, we can fix this! I just need an ice cream cake and I'll be okay. Do you guys in the mess hall think you can whip something up? I just discovered this flavor of ice cream - mint chocolate chip - and it's so good!

ELSA YOU DON'T REMEMBER THIS BUT ON MY LAST BIRTHDAY YOU GOT A COLD AND SNEEZED UP A BUNCH OF TINY SNOWMEN. They were adorable and tried to eat all my cake! We sent them to live up in the ice castle. It was the most amazing birthday ever!

I was instructed that it is custom to introduce oneself. My name is Sydney Sage. I understand that there are people from where I'm from and that I have a lot to learn.

Well, this all went badly wrong. I guess it's easier to mess up fifth-dimensional travel than I thought.

Seriously, though, I have a question. Probably for you guys with the weird uniforms.

Where's my spaceship? Silver, RW6 model, almost new? See, it's not mine, I kind of borrowed it. My dad's going to be really annoyed if I don't get it back to Lamuella eventually. I could just go search all your cargo bays myself, but that'd take a lot of time and effort, so I'm just asking.

Actually, I have another question. You're human? Really, honestly, homo sapiens from Earth human?

I know many of us are in training for different disciplines. Is there anything more for people like my sister and me who don't know a great deal about this world yet? I'd like to be useful on the ship and I've been through plenty of schooling but I'm not sure how to approach it in this time.

Alaska was beautiful. Much more my sort of climate than many of these places on Earth and we saw some animals that I've never seen before but read about on the PADD back on the ship. I think I liked that a lot better than I would the Hawaii place.

This guy bumped into me today and I was like - Oh my gosh, sorry mister! My mistake! And then I went to buy some things and all my credits were gone! And like, that ID thing we need to get back on the ship, too. AHHHHHH IT IS NOT OKAY TO STEAL FROM PEOPLE. THAT GUY BETTER WATCH HIS STEP NEXT TIME.

The officers were so nice, though! They recovered all my things, but it was still NOT okay. I need chocolate.

I have to admit, I find myself more nervous about this shore leave than the last. Perhaps because I know Earth, but this isn't my home. Not my version, nor my time.

Also, I can't help but feel like those at Yorktown would be more prepared for an invasion of travelers from far off lands versus the planet, which might not be quite so accepting.
