Well, this is not where I expected to wake up this morning. Apparently, you can leave and come back.

Some of you may remember me when I was still dark haired—feels like it's been lifetime since I was her. So much has changed.

I'm actually, genuinely, glad to be here. I need some time away from my friends and my work to figure out who I am now. What better place for that than a starship full of dozens of other people just as out of place as I am?

If you remember me from before, I prefer the name Frost for now, though I won't flip out if you call me Caitlin.

OH MY GOSH I MISSED MY BIRTHDAY It was almost a month ago! How did that happen? It's so easy to lose track of the days aboard this ship.

Okay, we can fix this! I just need an ice cream cake and I'll be okay. Do you guys in the mess hall think you can whip something up? I just discovered this flavor of ice cream - mint chocolate chip - and it's so good!

ELSA YOU DON'T REMEMBER THIS BUT ON MY LAST BIRTHDAY YOU GOT A COLD AND SNEEZED UP A BUNCH OF TINY SNOWMEN. They were adorable and tried to eat all my cake! We sent them to live up in the ice castle. It was the most amazing birthday ever!

Hey everyone. So, I'm going to be working in the Mess Hall and I wanted to see what sort of cupcake flavors people might want to see. These are just examples of what I can do, so if you don't see a flavor you want, just speak up. Also say something if you have dietary restrictions, like gluten-free or kosher or vegan or whatever. I can adjust recipes and make special batches to accommodate those things.

Is anyone interested in ice skating? It's something we used to do sometimes back home, it makes for good exercise, and it can be a lot of fun. Sometimes people fall until they've practiced but it doesn't hurt much.

It's just, it's something I can do to help break things up around here if anyone actually wanted to. I'm not even sure where we would do it, one of the recreation areas probably. But Anna and I discussed it and we thought it might be fun and I thought we should invite everyone else.

I saw the departures list. I'm sorry about Loki. Do you want to get a drink and talk about it?

Everyone is suddenly interested in finding new things to do on the ship.......well, okay, maybe not suddenly, but there seems to be an uptick in those sorts of discussions.

So, being the nice witch that I am, I'm going to offer a suggestion. Where I come from we have a sport called quidditch and I've made enough brooms through the replicator, combined with a good bit of wand waving and charm work (don't worry, I made an O on my NEWTS), that we can have two teams play against one another. That comes with the caveat that most of you are going to have to learn how to fly a broom without falling off but that's something I can certainly teach you to do. I did this professionally at home - playing quidditch, I mean - so I promise you'll be in very good hands. I know what I'm doing.

I'll go ahead and say that if you are scared of heights that this isn't the game for you, but if you aren't? It's bloody good fun.

This has been bothering me since Earth. But some animals have very misleading names.

A sea lion is nothing like a lion.

I know many of us are in training for different disciplines. Is there anything more for people like my sister and me who don't know a great deal about this world yet? I'd like to be useful on the ship and I've been through plenty of schooling but I'm not sure how to approach it in this time.

Alaska was beautiful. Much more my sort of climate than many of these places on Earth and we saw some animals that I've never seen before but read about on the PADD back on the ship. I think I liked that a lot better than I would the Hawaii place.

So, like, this wasn't hard to do 'cause we pretty much passed the mark as soon as we landed, but I have now seen more of the US than I ever did back home. This is so awesome.

This guy bumped into me today and I was like - Oh my gosh, sorry mister! My mistake! And then I went to buy some things and all my credits were gone! And like, that ID thing we need to get back on the ship, too. AHHHHHH IT IS NOT OKAY TO STEAL FROM PEOPLE. THAT GUY BETTER WATCH HIS STEP NEXT TIME.

The officers were so nice, though! They recovered all my things, but it was still NOT okay. I need chocolate.

I have taken the time to go back over what happened during the spell - that happened at the same time as the recent incident on board this vessel. I can safely say that my actions had nothing to do with the incident, and that it was simply very strange timing. Nothing about the spell is out of place, nor should any of the stages of it have caused the formation of solid matter or attraction of objects towards us.

It was merely a matter of inconvenient timing.

That being said, I am going to be testing the results of that spell. This will involve a brief use of very intense magic. I thought I should present a warning, as when I did not, it caused some concern.

I will explain the nature of the spell that was put in place at a later time, once I am certain that it was effective. I simply wished to provide reassurance, presently.

I have to admit, I find myself more nervous about this shore leave than the last. Perhaps because I know Earth, but this isn't my home. Not my version, nor my time.

Also, I can't help but feel like those at Yorktown would be more prepared for an invasion of travelers from far off lands versus the planet, which might not be quite so accepting.

Just me? Probably. Never mind.

Dude, so we're really on a spaceship. Like actually traveling through space spaceship and not just let's hop in this jet to get from Earth to that place just above Earth that we need to be. This is so awesome.

So, I guess we intro ourselves on these things? Uh, hey spaceship people. I'm Flash. I know this thing has like lists of stuff to do, but anyone got the word on what's really the fun stuff and what's just like listed but no one really goes to it?
