Ship's Log | To Boldly Go

While I am not at all happy that we were forced to leave paradise in order to return to this ship, the Lounge has been fully restocked and there are some new drinks to try out as well. I know a good deal of you had missed me, even those who would never admit to it.

I had a strange dream or my brain is fried.

Who can I talk to about working on this research project regarding what's bringing us here and taking us away?

I suppose I should think up a Halloween costume.

So I guess this is where I introduce myself. Alex Danvers, just arrived today.

I have noticed a Lt. Riley in one of the Rec Rooms, singing every Thursday morning.

While he is not very good and sings the same song every time, he does remind me of an old friend with a lovely voice. We were at war, and his song was a respite in the darkness.

I'm bored! What the hell is there to do around here?

I hate ice breakers. So...

Something else I can check off on my bucket list: going to space.

It does not seem like people always stay for very long, does it.

I'm still not doing a great job at reading star dates, but I'm pretty sure today is my birthday.

Do we do birthdays around here? Are cakes and candles still a thing?

Fornax was a lovely planet, and the Pod Racing was a great deal of fun, but I'm excited to see where we go next.

I hope this sense of excitement never dies.

When I was a kid I used to dream about waking up somewhere that wasn't boring old New Jersey, but I always thought it'd be somewhere like Los Angeles or the French Riviera, and there would be a rich man who'd want to take me shopping and buy me all the shoes I could ever want. Of course, he'd want to marry me and he'd also be a prince and we'd live happily ever after. Instead I wake up on a spaceship that's going around a planet that's nothing but a desert, in the future. This isn't how I wanted to get out of working today, I promise.

I'm also lost. Someone took me to my new apartment -- quarters?-- and I took a walk with my book thing and now I can't find anything. Help?

Alrighty, since we're in space on an actual ship and there are a ton of you science and tech types around, is there anyone here who could maybe take a look at something for me and see about fixing it?

You know, on any given day there's a lot that might happen that I don't expect, things that catch me off guard. And yet here I am, on board the Enterprise, and I don't have a even an inkling of a rational explanation for why I might be here.
