Ship's Log | To Boldly Go

I'm not about to write a bloody proposal about why I should be allowed to stay rather than be forced to return home again, again. If I end up back in Los Angeles, so be it. I'd rather stay on Risa with the preacher if he so chooses so he can at least enjoy some paradise before he ends up in hell, but at least he seems alright with that fate.

Sending people straight to their deaths, though? That's nothing other than pure evil. I don't know how anyone in Starfleet wants to accomplish missions of diplomacy and exploration without recognizing the value of life and of giving people freedom to choose that life for themselves.

Travelers - Commander Troi has been conducting experiments on us through experiments on the nebula that brought us here. It turns out we are still connected to it and every time he experiments with the nebula, it has been adversely affecting us.

The bursts of anger? The headaches? The nightmares? All a result of his experimentation. I have the research he's gathered and the parameters of his experiment. Starfleet command authorized the experiments, even after they realized what was happening to us. I've sent copies of his experiment and conclusions to everyone's PADD, so that they cannot hide the truth any longer.

I refuse to be a guinea pig. I demand complete transparency. Do with me what you must, Starfleet, but I only hope that the Enterprise crew that has been so accommodating of us since the first of us to arrive will stand with us against this injustice, that they were not involved in any of the decisions made here.

There's a very good chance I'm about to be sent to the brig for an undetermined amount of time. But I needed you two to know what's going on, why we've all been plagued with these headaches, bursts of anger, and nightmares.

I've written down as much as I could about Troi's research because I don't trust the copies I've sent to everyone's PADDs not to get destroyed. Hide them. Make sure Starfleet doesn't get their hands on them. Make your own copies. Just make sure this doesn't get swept under the rug.

I'm sorry I didn't tell you what I was doing beforehand. I didn't think I would find this while gathering my intel. But I needed to get it out before Troi realized someone had found him out.

Be angry with me, but protect yourselves. I will not go quietly.

I'm forever thankful that on the worst day of the year, at least for me, that I have someone in my life who just knows that I need nothing more than for him to sit beside me and just be here. I wish everyone could have that.

That depressing note aside, I've been on this ship for a year. Hard to believe.

I readily admit that they won't compare to what my brothers would create if they were here, but even so......

Would anyone be interested in a firework show in the garden as an end of year celebration of sorts? They won't hurt anything, but they will be a bit loud.

It's surprising that the thing I'm having the most trouble with here is the fact that I do not have to ration water. Having unlimited water is something I haven't experienced in over a couple of decades.

The clock said it was but a few hours, but it feels like days passed. Many days worth of memories all at once.

In exchange for my hair, apparently.

Observed an interesting anomaly this morning, but after further readings and a bit of backtracking I discovered it was simply an erroneous reading.

So the next time you run music through your quarters, make sure you didn't accidentally tap into the wrong systems or someone, probably me, is going to be sitting there trying to figure out why a quasar is pulsing to the beat of a 200 year old song about a snowman.

It seems we need to talk.

I knew that I would miss Risa when we left, but being sick over it is a little surprising.

.....that's a joke, just in case anyone interprets that wrong. I am a little sick, but nothing that won't pass in a day or so.

That said, Jadzia suggested that we have a party for Christmas and since I'm not swamped with security duties, I figured I'd volunteer to try and organize something for all of us since I know Peggy is a little busy right now with her duties. So, Enterprise, what should we do for the holiday? All suggestions welcome, provided they don't involve death, destruction, and excessively graphic violence.

And, yes, this includes Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, too. Though I'm pretty sure Hannukkah has already passed or is really close to ending, but no reason we can't include it.

Who do I have to bribe to keep my room assignment as is. More specifically, to have my quarters to myself?

While I am not at all happy that we were forced to leave paradise in order to return to this ship, the Lounge has been fully restocked and there are some new drinks to try out as well. I know a good deal of you had missed me, even those who would never admit to it.

So I finally made it down here as promised a couple of days ago and I admit I glad I did. Despite that I admit I am growing restless and am looking forward to getting back to my work. There's only so much lounging around that I can do before becoming bored. Is anyone else having this problem? There's plenty to do I just keep thinking about the pile of work I have waiting for me back on the ship.
