Poker on Tuesday, 7:30pm in the Rec Lounge, for those of you who commented that you were interested.

It's too early in the morning to be up, and yet, here we are. So if anyone is interested in joining me for breakfast, I have a full breakfast bar set up in the dining area. Make bad choices for your diet alongside me and have your weight in pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, fruits, and coffee, just as life intended for us to feast.

And also to get your brains working before you get here: your favorite song recommendations? I have a lot to catch up on.

Once, a girl far younger and smarter than I told me her life's motto. She was all of 15 at the time, brimming with that self-confidence and excitement that I think is innate to every teenager. You're invincible at that age, ready to conquer the world and vanquish the demons. To be the hero and all of that.

When she said it ("Do the thing that you fear the most."), sitting in a coffee shop sipping an espresso and nibbling on a cookie, I thought it was a sweet sentiment. It was the sort of thing that I would have also said at that age, but that the experience of life and all of the pain that comes with it eventually knocked out of me. That girl eventually became my step-daughter, though it's not quite a mother/daughter relationship between the two of us, and several years into her 20s, she's still living that motto. Fear never stopped her from doing anything.

Alexis has been on my mind for a few different reasons as of late. I find myself wondering what she's doing at home, if she got into that summer internship program she was gunning for, or if she's finally asked out the lab partner that she had been flirting with for most of her spring semester. Is she happy? Is she still barrelling through life with her father's charm and her grandmother's spirit? We've got no way to know here and it makes me sad.

I wish there was more rhyme or reason to which people are brought to the ship and which are taken away. My dolzhny tost za nashikh otstavshikh druzey.

I think I've gotten used to this ship a little, so I should introduce myself. I'm Molly Hooper, formerly from London, England. It's a pleasure to meet all of you I've bumped into so far.

I've been trying to think of something I could do on the ship. Back home I was still in school and I didn't have any idea what I wanted to do after that. Not sure how good I'd be at any of the jobs they have here but I'm open to suggestions. I'm tired of just sitting around doing nothing.

I had hoped that what I felt was a mistake but it wasn't. Anakin and Tahiri are gone. At least I know that they'll still be married at home even if it doesn't happen right away so I'm glad about that but it won't be the same here without them.

I promised Katie and Alicia that I'd ask again, so here it is: anyone on the ship interested in learning to play quidditch? It's the popular sport in my world and we've got the necessary equipment to play and several people that can teach anyone who wants to learn. The conditions are that you can't be afraid of heights, you have to have reasonably good balance to stay on your broom, and understand that you might get hurt while playing. It's bloody good fun but it's also dangerous, and I don't want anyone to decide to do this without being very clear about the risks.

Of course, we have a good Medical team that can patch you up if you do get hurt.

I suppose we can do a demonstration of sorts if anyone wanted to see what it's like. It won't be a proper game, we would need seven per side for that, but you could get a general idea.

I've been thinking of trying some new teas, I tend to prefer white and green teas, any suggestions?

Two, Max and I are starting a fresh-baked cookie delivery service. It will be 24 hours a day so if you have a cookie craving, you know the one where you wake up in the middle of the night and want fresh-baked ooey-gooey chocolate chip cookies (not out of a replicator). Right now we're offering chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin.

You'll be able to send either of us a direct message through your tablet and place an order. Since we're making a special request of ingredients from Starfleet, there is a charge of 10 credits per delivery. And yes, we've already okayed this with Captain Kirk and everyone who needs to approve things like that.

Three, who wants to go dancing in the holodeck tomorrow night with me??

I've been on this ship for almost 5 months.

That feels weird to think about, but I guess it's kind of awesome, too. Life is totally different here, but mostly it's pretty great.

To kill some time today before work, I finally tried one of the holonovels that are based on the old PI novels of the 1940s. It wasn't bad - maybe a little cliché in places - but it has the after effect that now I keep expecting people to pop around corners in fedoras and evening gowns while they smoke a cigarette and proclaim their innocence.

I also now have a fierce bout of homesickness for Manhattan, but I expected that would happen before I ever started the program.

Hey, I'm Tyler and being new here, I was just wondering what should I know? They brought out the welcome wagon on arrival and I got the basics, but I'm going to assume that it didn't cover everything important like where the best place to get a drink here is, what do you do for fun, and who is the official cookie dealer on this ship?

I think I need help. Idk if it's because I just came back from the dead or if it's because we're in space, passing by moons and shit, but my temper's through the roof and I have destroyed the very few items that I have accumulated in the past few hours which is not cool of me.

Unrelated, I'm an idiot and how do you tell someone you're sorry for confirming that they bite it in their future?

The plan was to get on a plane, not a space ship. Not that plans ever actually work. There's no where near enough wine for this.

It would appear that I should have set aside more of that Klingon blood wine for moments such as these.
