The current advice seems to be not to sleep alone.

Just a thought for you.

To avoid the Night Terror, you only have to WAKE UP. He has no power to keep you asleep. Don't sleep alone. Sleep in the same room with someone you trust, and wake each other up if it sounds like a nightmare is taking place.

General PSA.

Doesn't matter if they're pumping sex-pollen into the vents, don't fornicate in the stairwell. Or the laundry room. Or just you damn people have a lack of creativity anywhere with an obvious police presence (yes, you will be arrested).

Also--if your pants are three floors below and your girlfriend's in handcuffs, don't try running.

Hello good people of Seattle!

I need real recommendations for the best clubs in the area ASAP.

Strike that.

Let's make them "reviews" - glowing, mediocre, was-amazing-a-decade-ago. You get the picture. I don't trust Google and its questionable reviews and ratings any farther than I can throw them and my assistant's on strike regarding alcohol establishment reviews. I won't even bother asking about the coffee. I don't want to start a war.

Does anyone have an apartment they're not using? Preferably one on a corner, not on the first floor, with no neighbors? If you're going on vacation or something, I'll house sit. For free.

Or that I could pay I just need it for a couple of hours, sometimes. I'll pay. Even if you're just at work or something, or...

I sound insane. Or like I'm trying to rob somebody.

Another change of scenery, new faces once more, it seems.

It will be interesting to see if this forum proves intriguing or useful in time, but I suppose that remains to be seen at the moment. Please do introduce yourselves, I must admit I'm curious as to who might be reading.

Fuck with my motorcycle one more time and see what happens. If you think I'm above beating the shit out of you with my helmet, you are sorely mistaken.

[message for 'Mike Caulfield']

[left with one of the other security guys at the door to Phantasia, delivered immediately when 'Mike' comes in to work. a short note written in Liz's script.]

There may be a young lady coming in to see me soon. She'll ask for me at the door. Please make sure she comes directly to me, and that she isn't kept waiting.

Thanks,
Liz

Hey, I don't know how useful these forum things are but I figured I'd give it a try. I sort of need a job now that I have rent to pay, and, uh, I was hoping that there might be someone here who is either looking for an employee or knows someone who is. I'm willing to learn, and I'll do pretty much anything. There's just [...] a couple of problems. I have no ID, no social security number, no birth certificate, and no diploma. I'm working on getting it, but for right now I need a job somewhere that's not going to care about that. Um, any takers?

[Muffled, turned away from the microphone] Regan, did I do that right... oh.

[Microphone fumbled and then switched off.]

If one more of my employees comes in late and uses the 'I was voting' excuse, I'm firing the entire staff except two and starting fresh. Civic duties are very important. Doing them before your shift is also important.

That said, several repeat offenders have been dismissed, and their jobs are open. Anyone seeking employment should drop by Phantasia and see me before the weekend. I hate to be understaffed on Fridays. Waitresses, bartenders, security... I'm open-minded.

When you come in, ask for Liz. Someone will bring you to me.

To everyone on the 1st and 2st floors of the Hamartia, I'm really sorry about the sudden increase in beer in the hallway and dripping down through the ceiling. We were brewing our own beer and everything was going fine until the tub exploded. I'm still trying to figure out how this happened, because I was really careful about filling it to make sure it didn't do it. I had it filled straight to the brim so there was no way it could expand or anything. I'm gonna figure out what happened so next time it doesn't explode. But in the meantime, enjoy the free beer and let us know how it tastes.

Brigs, darling, I had no luck at all finding you in the crowd. Consider this my public compliment for a well-done party.

[Posted in the small hours of the morning, after picking up the late edition of the Seattle Times and reading the article therein.]

It seems that I missed a rousing success of a party by devoting my evening to work instead of play. Then again, I've also managed to avoid ending up in the local society rags, so perhaps my own night was more of a 'rousing success' than that of the guests to the masked affair.

Masks are often much more telling about the person who wears them than the face they present to the world in their day to day. Worth considering, if the paper is to be believed about the anonymous assignations that supposedly took place. It might be worth wondering what the person you dragged into a dark corner is like in their everyday life. The King might think himself better than everyone around him, and the Vampire might want to prey on you in more ways than one. Books could be written about what the details of costume choice say about individual psychological makeup.

My name is Dr. Henry Blair. You haven't seen me here until now because I have had something of a busy year renovating my hospital, but things seem to have quieted for the time being. Should anyone within the Creation community be in need of psychiatric health services, I offer myself as your liaison - I understand that matters within our community can be more delicate than those within the population at large, and am willing to discuss the sort of things that you might find yourself unable to bring to a human practitioner in my field.

i don't know you brought that girl you could have at least asked

How are you? ... Does your friend's suit ... fit correctly? No issues?

[Locked to M. Main]

You're a vocal supporter of the vigilantes, fine. Answer me this, then. The young ones who wear masks and take the world on as their responsibility, what do you think of them?

[Public] {filtered from w. light}

Humor me with an experimental question in ethics.

You are presented with an ultimatum. Either you help someone protect themselves doing something you feel is dangerous and unnecessary, or you refuse, and they do it anyway without your help, and without the protection you might have provided them.

Either way, the very fact that you know about the conflict means you've taken responsibility for their well-being - if you offer them protection, say a shield, for instance, you know they will use that shield to protect themselves but thus feel more invincible in battle, and that they may take more risks as a result. Even in the best case scenario where they survive because of the shield you have given them, you have also allowed them to continue in a line of action you disagree with. If you deny them the shield, they may be struck with an arrow and killed where they would have been protected.

Is there a right answer? Is there an ideal response?

If you - general you, darlings - are an hour and a half late for work, the reason should never be that your bad hair day gave you a conniption.

And if that is the reason, then for god's sake make up something slightly less ridiculous and lie your about-to-be-unemployed little ass off.
