Hellooo everyone~
Remember me? I was here from the old prison. Did everyone make it over alright to this new place?
I hope so.

[Birdman is all half-lidded eyes and smiles and also no top half of the jumpsuit on so this is a little weird. Every bone in his midsection seems to be jutting out like it could leap out from his sallow skin and escape at any second.]

Anyway, I'm not usually one to pop up like this unannounced, but I've had some extra family drop in recently and I feel like I need to do a little preemptive damage control before stuff gets messy.

We've got a new kid in calling himself 'Rion.' That's not actually his name, but that's what he wants to be called, so just humor him for now. He's one of my little brothers; Cain's another. Rion and Cain are identical twins, and they've both got.
Uh.
[He scratches at the side of his neck.]
Some issues.
Maybe it's a twin thing. I don't know.

Rion has some problem with lying, but he means well. He's a good kid. I don't think he can really help it right now, but I'm hoping that maybe time here will help him shape up.
So please keep an eye out for him, okay?

And if anybody's got any questions, I'd be happy to try and set the record straight as best as I can.

[Award-winning smile. His teeth don't seem to sit right in his face.]

[ There’s a noise of surprise, like the person is kind of miffed but more curious than upset. And then a heavy voice trails on, one that is unmistakably childish. His words are drawled; lazy. ]

Look at that. If I’m thinkin’ myself right, then this thing’s got its record on, here. Hey. Haha, look at all these words, I ain’t got it in me to be reading all that shit. It’s some kind of welcomin’ message? To this weird place, maybe. Damn.

[ Then a clunk and some ruffling, like the person pulled off the headset but kept holding onto it. There’s a faint sound of him talking to himself some more, but it’s distant, as if he kept the communicator running while walking around. That stops after a little while, and there's a thump, and wow video is being turned on and off a couple times before it sticks. So have some thirteen year old alien troll boy smiling at you. ]

What even is this shit? Even if I'm likin' how fun this place is. Kinda bright though, ain't it? I guess that's good. It don't hurt none, after all, haha.

[a feed flickers on to reveal what’s probably a familiar face--like Cain’s, but with hair that appears to be cared for, and for those of you who are observant enough to be detailed oriented, he has blue eyes as opposed to green.

he’s glowering, looking so unamused that he’s scathing, head tilted downwards as his eyes are rolled up towards the camera.]

Hello.

My name is Rion Steiner. Apparently, some of you have heard of me from Cain—the one who looks just like me. I’m... [he seems to start over.] Everything he's said... isn't true. I'm not like him.

[Rion is apparently struggling. visibly. his palm is on his forehead, now--he looks pensive, eyes aimlessly staring somewhere at the floor. he appears stressed. it's been one thing after the other. he isn't supposed to be here. not with them. not anywhere.]

...Birdman and Cain... don't trust them. Birdman especially—don't be fooled by him. I've seen their correspondences, and he isn't what he appears.

[he seems to recover a little, but damn if he doesn't still look pissed.]

I'm not slandering their names in turn for what Cain has said about me—I don't care about what you think of them—but for your own good, just stay away from them.

As for your opinion of me... whether you think I'm a murderer or exactly as terrible as Cain says, I don't care.

Just know that I am not like them...

Day 1/Day 174 : Morning Greeting

[Look up! You'll notice a floating island within the dome, and if you think those things attached to it are giant loud speakers, you'd be right. In fact, they're going to go off right about...]

Welcome to your new DOMEicile. [Pause for laughter.]

Today is Day 1 of the first generation of Marina Nova, but since that might cause some of you to do painful math exercises in those tiny brains of yours, I've decided to call it Day 174. The day we've created for you is temperate and sunny. Now, we have a lot to cover, so do listen up. I don't like to repeat myself, but this time I will make an exception. I am Veridical, one of your new wardens, and this is Conscienti, the other one.

[The voice changes. It's still artificial, but this one is less fluid than the other.]

Greetings, inmates. You have been transferred here from [ Marina Asylum ] due to the closing of the facility. Please do not be alarmed.

You may find your personal effects in a brown paper bag next to you. The standard-issue uniform [which is a bright orange jumpsuit with your name printed on it] is not equipped with pockets. Additional personal items have been brought over and can be found in [ Sector 0 ]. Please note that items that are deemed harmful have been confiscated. [This means weapons even if you had them in Marina.] Pets have been brought over and may be reclaimed in [ the Pet Café in Sector 1 ]. The Kiosk is open for additional questions and requests. We value your input.

Housing is available in [ Sectors 2, 3 and 4 ] and you are welcome to claim living quarters in any of these areas. Guide bots are stationed at each sector entrance and may be approached for a basic tour of your new home. Should you prefer to explore on your own, you can access [ the Marina Nova map ] through the menu on your communicator.

[Veridical chimes in again.] You also saw the rules in there. Or you didn't. Read them or not. You're still responsible for them. Some are the same as what you're used to and some aren't. New prison. New handbook. You're welcome to complain. I have been programmed with a wide range of dealing with nonsense. We did give you a little gift though. All your previous punishments have been wiped out. If you were wearing one of those darling little barrier collars or had an extra dose of power reduction it's gone. For now. We did keep your sex licenses in tact. That's why some of you are wearing those blue wrist bands. You're welcome.

[Conscienti continues without hesitation.] Your safety is important to us. All transfers have therefor been fitted with a temporary ankle monitor that restricts any abilities you may have which are deemed too dangerous for your initial integration period [powers, supernatural abilities, "normal humans" who can usually do things like make a wall crumble with a tap of their finger, etc.]. It will be automatically released [ at the end of the day ] unless there is reason to restrict your abilities further. Calm and orderly conduct will ensure your release. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Welcome to [ MarinaNova Asylum ]. We hope you enjoy your stay.

(OOC: And we're off! Feel free to respond via voice/video publicly or privately. Characters can also approach either Warden at the Kiosk — please specify if you'd like to talk to a specific Warden! Threadjacking is welcome to public remarks. You can also make your own posts or attack the dome-wide mingle!)
