He comes back to life with a bigger gasp than usual, and not in the same place as he died, which isn't that unusual, actually, but this feels like a bigger change. It's cold and quiet apart from the low hum of machines of some kind, and everything's bright and white.

And he's wearing an orange jumpsuit, and there's a clunky metal ring around his right ankle and a familiar headset lying on the ground beside him.

It takes him a minute or two to sort it out, because a) his head feels horribly thick and dizzy and b) he seems to have two sets of competing memories circling around in his head. On the one hand, he remembers – vividly remembers – just being shot through the heart by Gwen in Shanghai, but on the other he remembers snuggling up with Ianto in their bed in the Dome and just going to sleep like any other night. He certainly doesn't remember dying.

And he's in the Dome. Once he blinks away the memories of Shanghai (for the moment), he recognises where he is. In the refrigerated food aisle of the convenience store in Sector 1. He was there only yesterday, stopping by to pick up some groceries for Ianto on his way back from swimming.

Yesterday, or over a year ago, depending on which set of memories he believes. In the latter set, over a year spent mourning and missing Ianto.

He swallows and sits up, then has to close his eyes while he waits for his head to stop spinning. After a minute he forces them open again, and fumbles for his headset. Pauses when the display tells him it's Day 349, when the last day he remembers was 345, then he takes a breath and lifts the headset to put in a call to Ianto.

((OOC: Sorry, no open video call yet because I strongly believe he would just go straight to Ianto, but do feel free to have your character come into the Sector One convenience store and stumble across him before Ianto gets to him! I'll put out a more general video call to the Dome either later this day-week or early next.
