[video] DAY 210

[ The camera points at various things, and eventually comes to settle on Roxy's face. ]

This thing on...? Yeah, shit's all kindsa recording.

Ahemhmhmm. [ Clearing her throat. ] I'm hella hung over, have no clue where I am, apparently in jail, and more importantly I'm hankering for a martini. First order of business: where can I get a drink?

Secondly, someone fill a girl in on the punch line. There's no way this isn't some sort of big, fat joke. Prison, underwater, that shit is so un-cash it's in the negative.

Wardens, you've picked some shitty jokes and the wrong prankee. You're computers and I just so happen to be the hottest hacker bitch on the block. I'll stage my revenge when you least expect it: expect to be signed up for all sorts of shitty mailing lists.

Uh. And that's that.

[ Clicks off. ]

[A voice breaks the peace and quiet. It’s rather androgynous, rather rough from disuse, but loud and abrupt and demanding and bratty all the same.]

Whoa. This “crimes list” is fantastic. An outline of my accomplishments. Great and terrible. And I haven’t even done most of it yet?

But. “Cheating”? You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. I don’t cheat. Fix it. Put it right immediately. Maybe I’ll forget about your little “mistake.” And let you die quickly. Instead of slowly and painfully.

[And then Caliborn brushes it off, at least for now, because he has more important matters to attend to.]

Now. Where’s all my shit? Bring it to me.

I’m waiting.

[ A redheaded Japanese girl can briefly be seen fumbling with the headset. Then there's a shot of a park, then there's a blur of indecipherable colors. At that point, the transmission ends.

Five minutes later, Sora appears again, looking sheepish. ]

Man, these things are hard to figure out! Okay, but anyway, here's what I wanted to say--

This isn't right! I mean, yeah, I did all those things technically, but if I didn't then the boys would have kept oppressing the girls and everyone would have kept suffering! Isn't there some kind of exception for situations like that? Can I do a plea bargain? I saw that on TV once.

[The video starts accidentally. Asami was fidgeting with this new gadget, trying to get it apart and now this.] Oh wow. It's on.

I'm Asami Sato, from Republic City.

I would rather not be here [a little smile that says she knows everyone must feel that way] but I have to admit this is place impressive. The architecture, the thing that brought us here... and these radios with pictures. I can't believe they just hand these out.

I'd love to know how they work. [Obviously, since she's still trying to take the thing apart.] And why they give us these things and let us roam around but put us in these outfits... [She's not a fan of the orange jumpsuit. It's less flattering than it could be]

[Her voice trails off for a few seconds and her face shows deep concentration.]Well, I guess that's it. Hi.

Now if I can just find the off switch... [And there she goes again]

[She is sitting in the pavilion, watching the butterflies flittering around in awe before she decided to try and reach out to someone. She isn't paying as much attention to whether the transmission is audio or video, as long as it is heard.]

I didn’t know that they had butterflies in prisons. But I guess, this doesn’t seem like the kind of prison that Dad talks about back home. It’s like a really strange dream, but…[She doesn’t know why she would imagine a dream like this.] I know I did something bad, but I really didn’t mean to. And I really don’t want to do it again. [She doesn’t say she won’t, because she knows she isn’t normal. She can’t make those kinds of promises.] Can’t I just…go back to my Dad? He’ll make sure I don’t do anything.

[She’s quiet, unsure for a moment.] It’s better if I’m not here. I was better where I was.

[She doesn't expect a response, but still...] ...Is anyone there? If I'm talking to myself, I'd at least rather know about it.

[ private to picard ]

Captain? I need to speak with you, when you are available to do so.

[ His tone is as perfectly calm and even as ever - even before the installation of his emotion chip - though there is effort going into that. Internally, the chip is highly active, making him especially nervous about how this conversation will go - not an emotional state that he has found himself to be fond of. But it is a conversation that must happen. Inside or outside of the dome alike, there are very few individuals who Data respects nearly as much as he does Captain Picard. Though it is unquestionably a factor, it is not duty alone that compels him to seek the Captain's approval. ]

[A pony! Lovely white and blue. But he's mad.] I've never hurt my wife. Ever. And I am not a criminal. I wouldn't be Prince of the Crystal Empire if I was. I don't belong here.

Everything I have done was to protect Equestria and the Crystal Empire. I want to speak with who's in charge here.

[ the art of disguise is not merely physical. it runs on many layers, and the ability to replicate and manipulate emotions is just as important as the way one looks. it all comes in handy, though, especially when you're a world-renowned criminal mastermind in a new place with new people and you need to get your bearings.

this is why the residents of marina will be finding themselves in the company of richard brook, the fretful out-of-work actor, rather than the criminal mastermind that is james moriarty. it's only practical, after all; it would be absolutely ridiculous for everyone to be aware of his capabilities right off the bat.

the rumpled-looking man showing on the video feed is rather obviously distressed. he seems more fearful than angry, however -- his voice wavers as he mutters to himself, very quietly.
]

...torture? Murder? Really, I can't --

[ he pauses, and takes a deep breath. ]

I thought we'd been through all this once already. I'm innocent. I didn't do any of those horrible things, not a single one -- all I did was look the part. I swear, I'm being honest, I'll tell you everything all over again if I need to.

[ that tremor isn't just in his voice, now. he's shaking. ]

You've got the wrong man. This is a mistake. Please, just let me go home.
