[ As the festivities began to wind down on the beach and the firepits died down into smoldering embers, the two boys made their way to one of the beach huts. They'd spent the night out here on Helix's birthday and just the sound of the (artificial) waves and the wind in the palm trees made it feel like a mini-vacation. A chance to do something out of the ordinary.
Holding Helix's hand in a tight — and somewhat nervous grip — Aidan made his way over the still warm sand. A perfect ending to a good day. ]
