[ video, closed to Lacus ]

Hey, Lacus, right? I was told you do programming for the Haros. Can I ask a favor?

=====

[ action, thread with Lacus closed, others open for before she arrives ]

[Duo was waiting at the computer lab. He had a basketball-sized metal ball, painted black, tucked under one arm. It might possibly resemble a Haro from afar, and definitely is one when someone looked closer, as he had it turned "face" in. It had sort of been a secret project for him, sort of being the operative phrase, that he'd been finishing up in bits and spurts ever since Feldt had been around. She had given him the plans for mechanical aspects and had started on this one for him, but she had disappeared from the dome before finishing it or getting him a program.

But, now it was done, and he was looking forward to actually getting one working. He was willing to chat before Lacus got there for anyone who happened by.]

[Buffy isn't usually up this late (early?). She is generally more of a night owl than anything, but pre-dawn hours are for sleeping, even for a slayer. She'd started the night out with the idea of checking on Angel. She hasn't seen him since they officially decided to take a break and while that had gone amicably enough, she wouldn't say it had gone well. Angel was dealing with a lot and she wanted to check on him to see how he was dealing. Plus there was an annoying lack of 'Angel's around' spidey sense. It'd been dulled since forever, but it was completely lacking and she wasn't sure when it had gone completely lacking. She searched all the usual spots then went ahead and stopped by his apartment. When he didn't answer, she went ahead and broke in. She was already in prison for vandalism and breaking and entering so she didn't see any reason not to add another instance to the list of crimes. He hadn't been at his apartment either.]

Has anyone seen Angel in the last several hours? [She hesitates a moment, not sure how she feels about what she's going to say.] There's a lot of missing-ness attached to the whole--I think he's gone. Unless someone has seen him and then it's just me with a lot of paranoidness. [There's a word for that, Buffy, one that you didn't need to make up. It's called paranoia.]

action;

[After her search for Angel had been a bust, Buffy heads out toward the grave yard to sit atop one of the headstones and process how she felt about this. On one hand, she knew Angel was desperate to go home and she refused to acknowledge any other theory outside of Angel had gone home. She knew about the whole storage thing and that was an idea she wasn't even going to entertain. If Angel was gone, it was because he found an escape. End of story as far as Buffy was concerned. On the other hand, Buffy still hadn't gotten over the idea that maybe this was her chance with Angel that they'd never have out in the 'real' world. Sure, they'd been taking a break so that Angel had time to figure things out, but 'figure things out' didn't mean an end. Now it didn't seem he'd have the chance to figure it out, nor would she have the chance to see if they could make a go of things when the world wasn't ending. On the other, other hand, it took away all potential for the absolute rejection, jealousy and bouquet of other negative emotions that would come with being rejected in favor of Cordelia. She hadn't been looking forward to that particular path things might have taken. Finally, it wasn't a surprise, really, that he'd disappeared. The universe, every universe it seemed, was determined to tear them apart and destroy any chance of happiness they might have together.

The universe sucked.]
