( Just over the Canadian border, there is a secret place, devoid of any visible road. It’s underground and hidden well, safe from the light. )

It had taken a little while to get what he was looking for, but finally Cian found a store which was able to get in the ball he wanted. A step down from the professional ball he had played with in the final years before 'Omagh' it was a great ball that would deal with all sorts of surfaces.

He collected it that morning, heading straight to the park he'd found that had a practice wall to try it out. Even before he'd reached the grassy stretch he had unwrapped the round ball, dropping it to his feet as he walked and starting to dribble it along the path.

The wrapping was soon settling into a trash can on the corner of the park. Cian's eyes darted across the park and a few paces later his right foot swung back, his left foot planting out from the ball a little and the solid crack of boot hitting taut leather could be heard as the ball whistled through the air across the open expanse.

Grinning from ear to ear the tall, loose-limbed Irishman loped across the grass and proceeded to dribble, toss and toy with the ball for over ten minutes, the ball never touching his hands, but coming into contact with many other parts of his body, including knee, head, shoulder and chest.

Moira bored was not a very good thing. She had plans for a sleep over with Dylan, but that wasn't right that second so she needed something else to do until then. And what was there for a rich girl to do? Apparently it was get into her Miata and drive to the animal shelter to find herself a pet.

She had been thinking for a while to get herself a companion who didn't have complicated thoughts she could touch. She was not about to go to a puppy mill and she thought giving another animal a second chance would give her the warm fuzzies.

Listening to her fave CD, Bon Jovi's Greatest Hits (don't judge), she drove to the shelter. Moira parked then spend about 15 minutes fixing her hair from the drive. Vain? Whut? She finally got out of the car, grabbing her Louis Vuitton purse and going inside. She was thinking maybe a dog. Cats were kind of bitchy.

The past three days with Freddie had been... amazing. Rhys still couldn't get over how perfect for him she was and this was exactly why he had to tell her the truth. She had to know that he was telepathic. She needed to know that he heard her thoughts, something that was so intimate and that he shouldn't have heard. But this was the right thing for him to do and he wanted to be as honest with her as possible.

He kept telling himself that this was what he needed to do. That Freddie deserved the truth. But part of him was terrified that all the chemistry and feelings they had would be negated when she found out this detail. He should have told her before and been honest with her from the very beginning. So much guilt welled up inside of him.

Rhys took a deep breath as he walked over to where Freddie was. He snuck up behind her and kissed her cheek as his arms curled around her middle. "You wanna go for a walk?" He whispered into her ear. It would be best if they could be alone.

Raina’s day had been mostly been spent picking up some new flowers to fill in some ‘spaces’ in her garden, and then planting them. She had to admit, without a class to teach full of occasionally screaming pack of wild five year olds, she was feeling a bit at loose ends. The garden was already green and bursting, dotted with bright colors of flower petals blooming like a font of color in a plush and vibrant emerald world.

With dirt under her fingernails, her mussed curls hastily thrown up in a ponytail/bun hybrid, the woman was anything but presentable. Not that it mattered, as she planted the little flowering plant, closing the rich earth around its exposed roots and patting it firmly into place. With a bit of concentration, and a touch of her finger by the base, it gave a little jolt and grew several inches, firmly rooting itself into its new home. Raina smiled at her last little seedling went into place, brushing herself up off and getting to her feet.

Thirst demanding to be quenched, dry in her throat, just like the plant was, the elemental first double checked the drip watering system on her garden, and then headed inside to get something to drink for herself. Lemonade, that sounded delicious.

The sun was setting over the lake, turning the sky and its reflection on the water beautiful shades of pink, blue, and purple. Setting up the camp had gone smoothly, as had getting the jet skis and boat out of storage and in the water. It had been a tiring day for Charlotte, but she already felt like it was more than worth it.

Having just finished dinner a bit ago, she sat in front of the fire and passed around sticks to make smores to anyone who looked interested. "I think in the movies this is the part where we all start singing hokey songs." Or get stabbed to death by a machete-toting psychopath. She grinned, neither prospect sounding inviting. "Anyone got a better idea?"

While everyone at Charlotte's was piling into cars, Jessalyn was happy that she was going to be getting Madock all to herself. Not that she minded other people driving with them, but she didn't want to worrying about embarrassing them during a three hour car ride. With Madock, she could be herself and she knew he wouldn't judge her for it. She didn't bring much, only a small bag with some clothes, a sleeping bag and pillow, all of which fit in Madock's trunk. Once they were on their way, Jessalyn took Madock's hand to hold while he drove, simmering with excitement. "I can't remember the last time I slept outside," she said. "I mean, other than being in wolf form. Especially with so many people! Have you ever been on a trip like this with your friends before?"

"We're taking too many cars," Gabe said, looking at the line up. All the camping gear had been piled into the back of Charlotte's mom's truck, but why take the truck if the SUV was empty. "Why don't we move the gear to the back of the SUV and Claire and I will ride with you and Charlotte. It'll save on gas," he said, looking over at Ransom. Gabe popped the hitch on the back of the truck and began to grab the gear. "Here, help me shift this over."

Shanti was going to have to skip a couple of meals... Not because of her head injury causing her to be nauseous or anything but because she had just used the last of her cash (for the moment) to make sure her clothes were clean. She was being vain. Her clothes were unimportant but she still wanted them to smell good. It might have just been cheaper to pop down to a thrift store and buy some clearance clothes that were either slightly too big or slightly too small. She didn't know and it was now far too late because her clothes were in their respective Speed Queen washing machines.

She didn't want to be stuck inside waiting though so she was outside, leaning against the front window and watching people walk by. No one was going to screw with her laundry. Of that she was sure. Shanti was having a hard time not thinking about that stupid idiot male hunter that had gotten in her way... Michael or Mikhail or something like that. She couldn't remember the name specifically but she could remember his eyes.

Yeah, didn't need that, thanks very much. She kicked the brick part of the window display behind her and sighed heavily.

Lucia was giving Maurus some time and space. She knew what was bugging him and had said her piece and made her suggestions. Now if he didn't listen to her or did something stupid, then she'd interfere again. Okay, she'd interfere again, but hopefully it would be happy interference instead of this kind of interference.

So she was going over to Monica's and dragging her out to lunch to distract herself. Sort of a 'reward in advance for distracting me' thing. She loved Monica and felt kind of bad for constantly using her for distraction lately. But that's what best friends were for, right?

Of course, she probably should have texted first. Just because she'd ditched her classes didn't mean Monica had. And this of course did not occur to her until she was on her friend's doorstep.
