WEATHER: Clear and perfect, not a cloud in the sky.

EVENTS: It's battle of the bands at the Mudhouse tonight! $5 entry fee, $8 admission. All ages tonight, though hands will be stamped so no kiddies try to sneak a drink.

Through-out town, there are several different Independence Day parties and festivities. In the evening, many will be gathering in the Berry Bucket to watch the township fireworks display, though most of them will be viewable from anywhere in town.

The Liberty Inn is holding its annual 4th of July Extravaganza. The event begins at 10 AM and ends at nightfall with a fireworks show. Locals have set up booths showcasing their arts, crafts and food for sampling and purchase. Extra security has been paid for to ensure the safety of guests.

Tabloid magazines are talking about a pair of celebrities that just happen to be living in Scarlet Oak at the moment – Whisper Charlton and Kikuya Akuno. The tabloid rags have lots of gossip and pictures of the pair being mighty friendly during a birthday celebration in Vegas. There are plenty of accusations flying around that the two are much more than friends, and today a few tabloid reporters are snooping about town to try and get the scoop.
