[Playing loudly in the newly rented Aubade 505. It's loud enough to hear two floors down, in the middle of the night, and the hallway smells distinctly like pot.]

Call: T Brandon

[The call is made from Luke's cellphone to Thomas Inc, because it's the first number she finds in his contacts. It's early during the workday, after nearly a full day of feverish, on and off sleep, and she asks for Thomas when the secretary answers, the caller ID on the phone indicating what phone the call is coming from.]

[Public]

[After spending a sufficient amount of time staring at a wall, spinning in his wheely chair, blasting 'More Than A Feeling' by Boston on repeat, and using his cane as an air guitar, all while sitting in his empty office, he's finally resorted to the Forum.]

Where are all the sick people? Has the common cold been cured, because no one is ill today. Seriously, runny nose? Missing a leg? I'll fix it.

Does someone want to at least bring me a coffee? I'msolonely.

[ Left on the desk shared by M. Main and J. Arakkis ]

[On Wednesday morning, Max and Job will come to work to find a semi-smooshed white box on their desk with two cards taped to the top. One reads "Ms. Maxine Main" and the other "Mr. Job Arakkis" in flourished handwriting.

The white box with bent edges and frayed corners houses a whole, uninjured apple pie with a cinnamon crumb topping.]

[ E-Mail: M. Main and J. Arakkis ]

Hey Guys,

I'm back. What's my newest assignment?

[ Locked to M. Robinson ]

How was the party? Didn't miss me, I hope.

So. I kind of lost my job tonight.

Anyone hiring? Anyone?

[Locked to E. Pride]

Please tell me that bottle of wine I found in the cupboard wasn't anything important. If it was, I'll replace it. I kind of drank it. I'm sorry.

[snowstorm in may]

[Wednesday is a cool and cloudy day from the start, but it gets a little cooler as the day goes on. Residents of the city begin pulling out warmer coats, but it seems like just your average freak cold snap until late in the afternoon.

Clouds have been gathering all day, but they suddenly wrap together, darken, and intensify. The only comparable phenomenon is the flooding rain of a month or so before, but this time, when the rain comes, it brings with it an intense flash of serious, dangerous weather phenomena. The temperature drops by tens, and within five minutes it has gone from fifty degrees to fifteen. The rain, already coming down in sheets, begin to freeze, first into slush, then into thick, large hail that is slung around by high speed winds.

Planes are grounded, children are huddled home from school. An hour later the worst of the high winds and hail seem to have died down, but it continues to snow, a localized blizzard hovering over the city and refusing to move.]

[ooc: The snowstorm will continue for a few days, until the person responsible has been apprehended. During that period there will be short bouts of more dangerous weather like the high winds from before, but mostly just a steady stream of snow falling steadier during some periods than others. It is normal enough weather for January, but in late May it is bizarre, freakish, and cannot be explained, particularly because it doesn't immediately fade away.]

open vigilante comm

[Sent out Wednesday night.]

Okay, now maybe I'm just a wimp, but I think we need to get a sort of Mask networking site and warn people about this city. Between the zombie birds and the freak snowstorms, I think we all should be given plenty of time to up our medical insurance. Speaking of those zombie birds, anything undead and creepy start crawling around the city lately? I'd ask if that Fawkes guy is a zombie, but I imagine the Weekly World News would have that covered. And what's his deal anyway, aside from making clowns jealous?
