Open Commlink (to those who possess one).

[This is at about one AM in the morning as the inhibition-releasing effects of the disguises wear off. This is not a happy, 'let's party together' sort of comm. This is a command, and as usual he sounds annoyingly military about it.]

Sound off if you're at the masquerade.

[EMAIL TO KYLE WEST] [Backdated to the afternoon of Halloween; before the masquerade]
Attaching some info on that cold case you gave me last month. Like always, I’m not guaranteeing it’ll help, but it’s a new angle to look into. And, because I’m so nice, I made it short and sweet. A quick read before you head to that masquerade party tonight.

[TEXT TO QUINN] [during this: at the first mention of something in the drinks, Gwen texts ]

Do you want to talk about it now?

[Posted in the small hours of the morning, after picking up the late edition of the Seattle Times and reading the article therein.]

It seems that I missed a rousing success of a party by devoting my evening to work instead of play. Then again, I've also managed to avoid ending up in the local society rags, so perhaps my own night was more of a 'rousing success' than that of the guests to the masked affair.

Masks are often much more telling about the person who wears them than the face they present to the world in their day to day. Worth considering, if the paper is to be believed about the anonymous assignations that supposedly took place. It might be worth wondering what the person you dragged into a dark corner is like in their everyday life. The King might think himself better than everyone around him, and the Vampire might want to prey on you in more ways than one. Books could be written about what the details of costume choice say about individual psychological makeup.

My name is Dr. Henry Blair. You haven't seen me here until now because I have had something of a busy year renovating my hospital, but things seem to have quieted for the time being. Should anyone within the Creation community be in need of psychiatric health services, I offer myself as your liaison - I understand that matters within our community can be more delicate than those within the population at large, and am willing to discuss the sort of things that you might find yourself unable to bring to a human practitioner in my field.

Well I'm almost sad that I missed the masquerade. Did I miss anything exciting?

[A few hours after the masquerade]

Did we all enjoy the evening? Compliments to Mr. Mercer who hosted the fine event. I'd have sought you out afterwards but found myself busy. I left a gift instead, housewarming - do let me know if you found it and if it helped contribute to the atmosphere.

To the rest of you - those of you who put up with a Phantom for an evening - I thank you. It's a rare evening one can spend out and enjoy themselves at without minimal issues. That said - to the Skeleton, I hope you make good use of what you were told. New lessons will come your way only if I see it fully employed. To the Belly-dancer, keep an eye out on the horizon. Plans for fear are always underway. To the Fairy - how foolish were you over the course of the evening? Come on, don't be shy. To the girl in 18th century ware. I'd advise you to be as proactive as you wish to be. You'll enjoy yourself more. And do realize that while most things can be taken as a joke, there's truth.

And most importantly, Detective Warda - I'm sorry your stay had to end so quickly. Perhaps next time, we'll make it a more permanent arrangement.

Group Filter to J. Wilson & Z. Ramey

The crowd was beyond pathetic. Zin, I tried to find you but couldn't - Janet, I did see you. Did you make it through the party unscathed?

Dinner is next Saturday. I'll send a limo by Hamartia for Janet and your brother. Zin, I'll give you a lift. Don't argue. Don't protest. We need to take care of business with the least amount of bloodshed possible, correct?

Brigs, darling, I had no luck at all finding you in the crowd. Consider this my public compliment for a well-done party.
