Day 221 — Morning mingle : Main shelter
[Wake up and smell the lack of coffee. You're on a bunk bed. Maybe you're a top and maybe you're a bottom. There are five other people in your room. Maybe they're friends or enemies or faces you barely recognize if at all. It doesn't matter much. You can leave this room and you don't need to come back to it.

You should get your rations though. You're probably hungry. You're definitely a little sluggish of body. What happened to that bruise you got sparing yesterday? What happened to your newly dyed hair? Mystery, mystery... Move along. Find the public bathrooms and do your business with a hundred of your closest friends.

Find the kiosk and get your rations. Careful not to let anyone steal them. You won't get more until tomorrow and the bots won't care. They aren't here to hold your hand. If you get sick or hurt and they deem it necessary they will take you to the hospital whether you wish it or not. But why dwell on such things? You're here now and you might as well enjoy it. You even get a free day today.]

[Sam has had rough mornings before, but he's having a hard time shaking this one off, but that's what he needs to do. He needs to get up, move around, explore this new prison and figure out...everything. Should be easy. He can probably do that before a hearty breakfast of 1/8th cabbage.]

[If anyone can manage to still look stately and in complete control during and after a crisis, it's Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Even in scrubs he carries himself as if he is precisely where he intends to be and is doing precisely what he wants to to be doing. Currently, he is a man with a mission. He's walking through the main shelter in search of his crew; Data, Seven, and now Jadzia. He might also be in search of Rose Tyler, as he's grown quite fond of her.

[Oz is not happy to be out of his cage, where he's been spending most of his time since his attacking people during the emotions event. And now with this upheaval and waking up in a different place, he's feeling a little unsteady emotionally. Since he's having lots of trust issues with himself, he's in the least crowded corner he can find away from everyone. He's calmly pretending to pick through his rations as he watches people wake up and tries to spot his own people from afar.

Anyone can approach him though. Look at him trying not to wolf out.]

[So this is not going well thus far.]

[Not only has he been whisked off somewhere else again and stuffed into clothes that are probably going to be ripped to shreds by his hair if he even tries changing them and stripped of the sword he worked his ass off forging, but Zelgadis can't seem to. Walk very well.]

[He can stand up okay. Even take a few steps. But he feels completely exhausted, like he used up too much magic (which he doesn't remember doing). If he moves too quickly the world spins, and he has to reach for a wall because he's afraid he'll fall and maybe crush someone.]

[But he doesn't fall, he just feels like he might. You'll find him making his slow way to the ration station, using the wall for support and looking generally unhappy.]

[Dawn has woken up and been to the bathrooms (ew) and found her sister asleep in a bunk bed. She's so freaked out by all of this and will not be okay until Buffy wakes up and does her 'strong through anything no matter what' act. In fact, her entire psych is all rolled up in her sister waking up and telling her it's gonna be okay.

[Add "sluggish" and "power drained" to "already barely able to stay awake" and you've got one (1) extremely useless vampire Queen. Saya had still been a few days from hibernation when the tentacle emergency went down, but now? She's got hours.]

[It takes her one of them to climb out of the top bunk she found herself in, step by slow step, and then another fifteen minutes to pick herself off the floor.]

[Vast effort gets her out into the corridor, but only a few dozen steps of progress happen before she slides down the wall to slump in an uncomfortable-looking sit on the floor.]

[Buffy can be found waking up in one of the bunk rooms, the one that Sam Merlotte and Dawn Summers are also waking up in. Her first order of business will be to comfort Dawn and make sure that she's all right. Once that's done she'll do the same for Sam, or more likely be comforted by him as he tends to serve that job in her life.

After that, she can be found getting her rations...who eats cabbage anyway?...or mingling through the crowds in an attempt to find other people she knows and cares for.]

[Peter should be in a near panic when he wakes up; he knows this because he doesn't wake up well to begin with and his history in general makes him a little paranoid, yet he's finding it hard to work up a good panic. He's too sluggish, too drugged, too something. It takes him a little while to get started, to rouse himself from the top bunk; when he does, he tumbles from the top bunk to the floor with an 'ow', but he's not hurt and at least he's now out of bed. He gets to his feet, noting the anklet and is none too pleased about that.

[ Data is not prone to stiffness or sluggishness upon waking, regardless of how long he's been inactive. This is one thing for which he can be grateful when he reactivates, immediately bringing himself into an upright sitting position in one swift motion. The first thing he becomes aware of is the extent to which his range of vision is limited - his usual routine upon activation is to survey his surroundings, which includes a thorough examination of his surroundings across each spectrum visible to him. But nothing beyond a standard human range of vision is possible for him to access. At the same time, he discovers that his hearing is similarly limited, many frequencies which he can typically monitor entirely blocked from his perception.

A self-diagnostic informs him that all his systems are functioning within normal parameters, even as a cursory examination of the ports in his fingers and forearms informs him that his auxiliary systems are offline, rendering many of his nonessential abilities inoperable. But what is exceptionally distressing is how he flexes his fingers only to find them incapable of exerting any exceptional force, his grip weak and slack by comparison to his usual abilities.

The growing anxiety as he takes stock of his current state is enough to inform him that at least his emotion chip is functioning properly. He lets it be for the moment as he takes stock of the room around him from his position on a bottom bunk. All told, his entire examination has only taken a few moments - to him, of course, it feels like dragging eons. ]

[ Rogue is kind of a morning person. She usually wakes up happily enough, showers and gets on with her day. This morning, she's having a difficult time waking up. She feels sluggish and exhausted despite some evidence that she's been sleeping a good while. Once she does wake up, she notes the anklet on her ankle and the lack of gloves near her person. She knows what the anklet is supposed to do so she doesn't panic, but she doesn't like not having her gloves nearby.

She gets in line for her rations, scanning the room for anyone she knows, more than a bit concerned that for whatever reason, they haven't made the transfer.]

[Waking up while it's daylight is not Eric's strong point. In fact, as a rule he doesn't do it at all. Occasionally he'll wake up early afternoon in the prison, but more often it's an evening to late afternoon activity for him. Despite all of that, he is waking up in the morning feeling like he's been dragged behind a car, an experience he's intimate with. He scrubs his hand over his face and looks around the room, taking in stride that he's been moved and that he's starving. Protective instincts set in and he gets out of bed, expecting to do so with blur speed, when that doesn't happen, he looks down annoyed. He's got one of those anklets that effectively make him human.

And weak.

He hates that feeling. Now he has to find Sookie, protect her and be human. It all adds up to a cranky vampire.

Oh. And he's hungry.]

[He can be found later, prowling about the main shelter, looking cranky and attempting to figure out what the hell is going on here. Yes, he's read the advert, but he doesn't quite believe it.]

[ There have been better mornings. Then again, there've been worse mornings too and knowing that they're not all about to drown at the bottom of the ocean neatly places this morning in the "not as bad as it could be" column. The sluggish drowsiness isn't stellar and for a heartstopping moment he wonders if he's been drugged, but quickly discards the thought for another much more sobering realization.

He's felt like this before. It's been two months, but the familiarity hasn't lessened.

In an attempt to shake it off and figure out what the hell is going on, Reid forces himself to get up and pick up his rations and weigh the pros and cons of public showers versus a particularly persistent need for good personal hygiene. Most of all he'll be looking for friends and family. That is the only thing that's really important. ]

[ Someone is terribly annoyed that they weren't left in the other dome. Nice little flooding, lots of chaos... and then maybe he could've made a clean escape to the surface. No such luck here though. No cigarettes either, but just enough sunlight through the clothes to singe him when he takes a careless step outside of the living quarters.

Well fuck.

During the morning he can be found lingering in the corridor, contemplating whether he should make a fiery break for it or not. Later on he'll be making his way around the yard, either concealed by a blanket from his bed or moving through whatever shadowed spots he can find. The sun may be partially concealed by the clouds, but there's a hell of a lot of open space out there. He'd rather not take any chances. ]

[ Surprisingly enough, feeling all heavy and hungover and disoriented is working in Aidan's favor. It takes the edge off, allowing him to mechanically go through the motions of getting his rations and showering (absolutely no shyness in public baths, would you believe it!) and getting dressed and even starting some breakfast for him and Helix. [ the first thing piter notices as he unfolds from a bottom bunk is that he is neither dead nor dying. both are stellar developments, as far as he's concerned. he isn't terribly enthused by anything else, though, especially not the sluggishness that refuses to leave him or the new and thoroughly abhorrent wardens. all the same, he knows that he must adapt. he's done it once before, after all.

his first order of business isn't showering or finding new clothes or picking up rations. it's finding spice— and he quickly realizes that in squall, there is none to speak of.

he'll be spending the rest of the day exploring and trying to resign himself to the fact that he may die here. ]

[ helen wakes up definitely not where she was. unlike some, she doesn't immediately sit up or gasp or yell. she is trying to figure out where she is and how she got there -- and if there's any great threat to her if she decides to get up. so she listens for a while, her eyes shut to give the semblance of sleep before she slowly opens them and lets her eyes take in everything she can see from her bottom bunk vantage point.

nothing too dangerous seems to be here, but it's definitely not the bed she'd spent a night in earlier.

a few minutes pass before she finally sits up -- she'll just ignore the change of clothes again as she looks around. definitely a bottom bunk and definitely not where she wants to be. she doesn't call out, simply looking around the room for anyone she knows or anything that might be a threat.



later, she can be found wandering. no, she hasn't stood in line for rations. yes, she might need to be shoved there. it's not that she doesn't trust it. okay, it's that, too. but she figures she's had it easy compared to a lot of other people. let them go first while she figures out as much about this place as she can. so she's going to wander, eyes sharp as she looks for the few people she's actually met and a certain vampire she wants to keep track of. ]

[Jack is in a crappy mood. He feels stiff and tired, he's lost his coat and his wriststrap, he's wearing stupid overalls, and worst of all, there's no coffee. He spends his morning traipsing round the complex, investigating it and trying to make sure his friends are okay and – well – make sure everyone's okay.

[Duo stretched and rolled over, his arm flopping down over the side to dangle in front of the person on the bottom bunk. He was pretty groggy feeling at the moment. He blinked, staring across the way for a moment.
