Day 221 — Morning mingle : Main shelter
[Wake up and smell the lack of coffee. You're on a bunk bed. Maybe you're a top and maybe you're a bottom. There are five other people in your room. Maybe they're friends or enemies or faces you barely recognize if at all. It doesn't matter much. You can leave this room and you don't need to come back to it.

You should get your rations though. You're probably hungry. You're definitely a little sluggish of body. What happened to that bruise you got sparing yesterday? What happened to your newly dyed hair? Mystery, mystery... Move along. Find the public bathrooms and do your business with a hundred of your closest friends.

Find the kiosk and get your rations. Careful not to let anyone steal them. You won't get more until tomorrow and the bots won't care. They aren't here to hold your hand. If you get sick or hurt and they deem it necessary they will take you to the hospital whether you wish it or not. But why dwell on such things? You're here now and you might as well enjoy it. You even get a free day today.]

(OOC: OOC info. This mingle takes place in the Main shelter over the morning hours.

[ And while he's not quite as physically strong as he usually is, he has no trouble in providing swift assistance to get Bak to his feet. He gives a nod. ]

That is fortunate. Regardless of the height, an impact upon some surfaces at certain angles is still capable of causing serious injury.

[ Data is generally inclined toward concern for others before himself, and to volunteering all kinds of information and observation. It also helps to keep him from becoming preoccupied with his own state. ]

[ Bak nodded in absolute agreement and then frowned ] And just where did these bunk beds come from anyway? They weren't here before.

[ obviously the master of the obvious. Forgive him. ]

It may be more accurate to say that we were not here before. We appear to have been moved without our knowledge, likely due to the attack on MarinaNova.

[ he linefaced but only because he disliked being called out on semantics. It was such a Komui thing to do! ]

[ oh well, moving on! ] You're right of course. Perhaps the better question would be to ask where here is. It's all quite curious if you ask me. If they can transport us all out of a dome without a scratch on us, you would think they'd be able to keep the dome from breaking at all!

Those would rely on two different sets of capabilities; as we do not fully understand the means by which they transport us into the facility, it is possible that using that same technology to transport us out was the most efficient option available to them.

I believe it is a serious flaw in the design of the dome, however, that they are not better prepared for encounters with such lifeforms.

[ Bak nodded ] Especially with their ability to limit the capabilities of the population. All it would require is a force field of like magnitude outside the dome, I would imagine.

[ although there is the issue of amplification and the distortion effect of the water itself, but that's just purely mathematics. Where has Data been all his life? ]
