Day 221 — Morning mingle : Main shelter
[Wake up and smell the lack of coffee. You're on a bunk bed. Maybe you're a top and maybe you're a bottom. There are five other people in your room. Maybe they're friends or enemies or faces you barely recognize if at all. It doesn't matter much. You can leave this room and you don't need to come back to it.

You should get your rations though. You're probably hungry. You're definitely a little sluggish of body. What happened to that bruise you got sparing yesterday? What happened to your newly dyed hair? Mystery, mystery... Move along. Find the public bathrooms and do your business with a hundred of your closest friends.

Find the kiosk and get your rations. Careful not to let anyone steal them. You won't get more until tomorrow and the bots won't care. They aren't here to hold your hand. If you get sick or hurt and they deem it necessary they will take you to the hospital whether you wish it or not. But why dwell on such things? You're here now and you might as well enjoy it. You even get a free day today.]

[Dawn has woken up and been to the bathrooms (ew) and found her sister asleep in a bunk bed. She's so freaked out by all of this and will not be okay until Buffy wakes up and does her 'strong through anything no matter what' act. In fact, her entire psych is all rolled up in her sister waking up and telling her it's gonna be okay.

Once that's done, then they can make a plan of action. Until then, anyone can find her sitting there on the floor. If anyone runs into her after Buffy wakes up, she's sticking close to her sister while looking for people she knows.]

	Buffy sits up with a grumble. "Five more minutes, Mom", she mutters under her breath as she turns on her side. Eventually she opens her eyes and pushes herself up into a sitting position. "Dawnie?" The minute Buffy says her name, Dawn comes out of the deep recesses of her mind and sort of... wakes up. With Buffy on the floor with her, she wraps her arms around her tightly and just holds on for a few seconds. "Buffy. It's a new prison and there aren't as many cool things in this place as there were in the other one. The Warden is super creepy too and I was just waiting... for you to be awake." And she realizes how lame that sounds just as the words come out of her mouth.

	Buffy wraps Dawn up in a hug, squeezing tightly. She's just relieved that her sister is here. Anything else will be something she can deal with as long as Dawn is here. "I really like hearing you say that cause even if it isn't gonna be okay... we can pretend. I mean we've made it through worse stuff than this. Right?" She sounds like she's getting to where she can put on her brave little toaster face while reaching and grasping at straws.

"They didn't sound like they were gonna make us into some hybrid drone bots to work as slave labor." Her imagination is still clearly in tact.

"You know, in hindsight, we probably should have looted it before we cratered it. Think of all the cute shoes and glitter pens that could have been ours." Quippiness is something that is both familiar and comforting right now. It's a talent that both of them have. Dawn learned from the best, after all.

	'We could have pulled a UHaul behind the bus." It helps them cope and it always has. Giles used to chide the Scoobies for it, but eventually he realized it wasn't lack of caring, but a coping mechanism instead. "I don't know. "What happens when the vampires don't get enough fake blood or... the food is like what the people who go on that show Survivor eat and they end up resembling a skeleton by the end of that show." But honestly, she's a ball of nerves inside right now and can't even think of eating anything. But eventually those nerves will calm down and then what will happen when there isn't enough food for everyone.
